Vars advances warily, keeping his bow ready as he does so. He also tests the ground as he goes, stepping lightly before putting his full weight down just in case there are other pits or false floors ahead.
Perception: 21
As he goes, he says to Reginald (assuming we are talking about the slimes lol, sorry I'm behind on this...), "Frangipani tried ice and...I believe acid on these things last time we were here. It didn't seem to do much from what I could tell. Fire...did we try fire last time?" He looks to Sparhawk as he asks his question.
"Anyway, the only thing I remember working was shooting them with arrows. I tried using poison but... I don't think it helped much."
As you move carefully down the stairs, using the pole as a feeler, you feel the pole catch on a small line stretched across the stairway about 1/2 way down. Looking at the connections on the walls you can see the line is meant to trip unaware individuals and not trigger trigger something else.
“Vars, watch for a trap right after that line, a person trips and falls into a deadly trap!” Sparhawk says warily. "Otherwise, whats the point of that wire? Should we try this door?”
Sparhawk touches his holy symbol and feels for anything evil or unnatural (other than Lir and Frangipani), Divine Sense (near the doorway and down below)

Sparhawk feels no sense of evil or undeath in the area.
As he lowers his holy symbol, "Hum, as in prior searches in this area, I don't feel any strong sense of undead here, so that's a positive." He smiles at the group.
"Hold a moment" he says to the group. "Let a paladin entertain a hunch. Don't go anywhere or move forward." He heads to the cave entrance where he had previously carried a 50lb boulder to keep a door open. He grabs it, bringing it back to the stairway. "Move aside please" (Just after the trip wire, he will toss the rock in an upward arch to land 2-4 feet after the wire)

In the same way Sparhawk had extended his awareness in search of unclean and poisonous things of the spirit, Frangipani seeks to detect the unclean and poisons of the flesh. After some time she only detects the most minor of natural irritants, some mold/ mildew, etc…that would be expected in a damp underground space
"Hey Bjorn, do you realize how difficult it was to convince Vars to not keep fighting with a dull sword!" He smiles, "Its better to be alive then a black puddings meal. We are lucky Frangipani has chosen not to eat us at this time, although I am concerned that at some point, she may change her mind." He looks back at her. "That's why I sleep with one eye open." He winks at Frangipani, hoping to spook Reginald.
Frangipani opens the door, exposing a room that is 25’x25’ square. There is a soft glow in this room from some small phosphorescent tile accents around the rooms walls. This room seems to be a master bedroom. The wall directly across has several posters and paintings. The north wall a large bed with a carpet in front, along with a foot locker. The southern wall has a large armoir, some book shelves and a reading chair
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Hey, I didn't need any convincing," Vars snorts. "I just had to find a new sword worth buying." He taps the pommel of the replacement sword and mutters something about it 'still not being the same', before heading towards the door to open it up..****y for Frangipani to beat him to it. Letting out a huff, he follows her in.
Once inside, he scans the room, "Well, perhaps we will find a key in here? I'm thinking that the treasure is over where the door is on the map." He pulls the map out and glances at it briefly before putting it away again.
Then he walks over to the foot locker to see if it is actually locked.
Frangipani resists the urge to jump on the bed and wanders over to look at the paintings, as she passes the armoir she spits at it a spray of green lumious mist.
(OOC : Reginald will cast unseen servant as a ritual when Frangipani is casting her ritual)
"For the next hour we'll be able to open unlocked doors and suspicous packages from a distance for the next hour with my invisible servant..." remarks Reginald, "I can also keep detect magic up for a bit, if you don't mind me mumbling to myself the whole time" (OOC : If he does that, he will be unable to do "active" rolls (Can NOT do anything other than non-dashing movement, bonus and reactions actions (no other spells) and will have to rely on Passive Perception (13) and Investigation (14) checks.)

The Boulder crashes into the floor and cracks the floor and itself in the process. No traps noted. Vars is free to try the door
“Vars, try the door. Be careful of something shooting out of this one. I don’t trust this weirdly placed trip wire.”
Frangipani moved towards the door carefully and opened her senses....

Bjorn nearly falls asleep watching the ritual. He accuses the group of paranoia, but doesn't open the door himself. ;)

Frangipani smacked her lips loudly in Reginalds direction then shrugged and opened the door.
