Vars eyes the carpet, "Someone's got a lot of coin." He scans the room before sitting down, taking in the fine furniture with slight distain. Leaning back into one of the couches, he says, "A bit to soft if you ask me." He fidgets on the squishy cushion, eyeing the wall where the goblin disappeared.

Sorsha places the letter on the platter as instructed. After a few seconds, the letter disappears in a puff of smoke.
a moment or two goes by and Mr Fist enters the room from the same wall the goblin had exited from.
”Great work. The 3rd ship is pleased. In all the world, trust is the most valuable commodity. The Iron mage said you were well received and followed the instructions…to the letter. He glances over at Bjorn and gives a little chuckle. You all demonstrated good problem solving skills, and even staunch bravery in putting down that monstrous thing…I had planned a little test of your skill sets, but they were waylaid by that very creature…well, saves me some coin..Anyway. The Ship has decreed you can be given a more important task..”
he reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out a small sheet of paper. It has a drawing of weird looking bugbear, missing patches of fur, with 3 large hooped earrings in one ear and bone through his nose.
” This here Is Bernard. A fella that thought it was ok to commit an act of piracy outside the sanction of the third Ship. No permission asked, no points paid and to make matters worse, his target was a ship belonging to Kurth himself, which sunk in the process.”
He pauses a moment to let that information sink in…you can see the rage he is stifling as he speaks.
” this is a very important matter that will bring much honor to the third Ship and it’s membership if successful. Also it will generate a favor from the first Ship. While your on this mission, the third Ship has offered to negotiate a reward for your activities on the beach so you will have that to look forward to upon your return.”
He pulls out a bag of coin (500gp) and hands it to Sorsha. “ Here is for last night’s delivery. For bringing in Bernard, you will receive 800 gp dead. 1500 gp alive and if you recover the stolen goods in the process, you will get 10% of the value. Any and all incidental treasures found during the mission, you will pay a tithe of 10% to the third Ship organization.”
He pulls out another piece of paper with the same details he just described and a place below for thumb prints. He also pulls out a strange looking little dagger. It is super thin of blade and the handle is carved bone of some sort. The handle is carved in the image of some kind of creature and there are two small green jewels for its eyes.
”If yer agreeable to the details of this contract, prick your finger on this…special dagger. It is called the dagger of deals.”
"We appreciate your very generous offer, Mr. Fist." Sparhawk replies warmly. "Please allow us to discuss the terms and see if we are all in agreement."
Eberk watches Mr. Fist intently, since he was already less than forthcoming.

Everything seems legit, the dagger is intriguing and you suspect the act of pricking your finger with it and applying it to paper must be binding in a way beyond just merely your word.
“ Bernard was last seen on a small boat heading up the river Mirar. Towards the town of Mirabar, though he is known to have kin in the Star Metal Hills off the long road. He is a dumb brute of a pirate, so we still are uncertain how he pulled off the heist or who may have rendered him aid”
Sorsha is slightly suprised and smiles as the crew is greeted by a goblin wearing a red silk robe and a sailor cap. She walks slowly into the room, admiring the décor before placing the letter on the silvered platter and taking a seat in one of the comfortable looking couches.
She reamins seated as Mr Fist enters the room after a while. She listens to Mr Fist and accepts the bag of coins with a quick nod. She listens and nods at the questions from the crew, then watching as Frangipani agrees to the contract. She decides to wait for the rest of the crew to be on board with this before agreeing to it herself, looking to Mr Fist to answer the last questions. "Does this Bernard have any known contacts or hideouts in the Mirabar area other than his kin in the Star Metal Hills?"
“ As far as time limits go , the sooner he is caught up with the more likely you are to recover the goods as well, but there is no time frame within reason. There is likely to be other opportunities for you along the way as it is a well traveled trade route. As far as contacts in Mirabar, it is highly likely he has friends there. He was a knucklehead that nobody here paid much mind to, so there is not much in the way of information in that regard. As always, a tavern is the best place to begin.”
He is pleased with Frangipani’s acceptance of the contract
“We can stop by Captain Kurth before we leave and we may find a missing wizard along the way.” Eberk takes the knife, draws blood, and adds it to the contract.

"As I evaluate your offer, I feel that we are ill equipped to capture such a foe. May I suggest you give us an advancement on the reward so we may purchase any necessary items we think could improve our chances of success? To clarify, the tithe would be for items recovered that were stolen by Bernard. In addition, of the 10% tithe, would the third ship agree to donate 3% to the lost sailors' families?" Sparhawk was careful not to offend Fist, and really was not asking for anything extra for his crew except additional supplies:

( has the letter been placed onto the platter?)
I think Sorsha has it. We place it on the platter( yes group?)
(Agreed)
I don't see why not.

"This Bernard is on shore?"

“Is there a time limit on this job? We may be running other errands and conducting some other business at the same time.”
Frangipani reached over and pricked her finger on the dagger then mashed it onto the paper.
Bjorn stares in shock at Frangipani's apparent enthusiasm. After a moment he recovers his composure. "And how will we recognize the stolen goods?"

Sorsha nods, but waits to see that the crew is all on board with this.
