Lir scans the scene ahead for signs of the monstrosity - perception: 24
You don’t see the beast, but you can smell him. The trees where he emerged from the jungle are ripped from their roots and there are large, deep prints from where his feet fell, leasing to the cave entrance.
"Stay close. I can hide us until we are far enough away. It knows we are here."
[Lir will use an insect concealment spell to hide their exit if the party agrees.]
Lir holds out the staff and suddenly a cloud of insects surround him - and the party, cloaking them.
"Keep....your mouths...closed."
(1 charge used - feature description:
Insect Cloud. While holding the staff, you can use an action and expend 1 charge to cause a swarm of harmless flying insects to spread out in a 30-foot radius from you. The insects remain for 10 minutes, making the area heavily obscured for creatures other than you. The swarm moves with you, remaining centered on you. A wind of at least 10 miles per hour disperses the swarm and ends the effect.)
You all leave the cave under the cover of Lir’s bug swarm as you make it a few feet out of the cave you realize you cannot see the entrance once you have exited. It looks to be just a trunk of one of the massive palm trees. You are surrounded on all sides by thick vegetation. Off to the west you can see the large trees being moved by what must be the girllon seeking out other prey.
"Alright, crew, I believe we are in Chult." He pulls out the map. "I believe we are here" He points to the tower. "I see a point on the map above the tower and near the ocean. We will head their first, then follow the coast toward the first town, Mezzo I believe. Then perhaps up to Port Castiglier."
"Now, the good news...." he pulls out the scroll tube from Dietrich, "This is a magic scroll tube from our employer, Master Dietrich. He indicated if we put a note in it, he would recieve it instantly. It is my belief that we can send him a message, and he can then reply back to us. We can in effect meet him here!"
Sparhawk seems somewhat pleased. "Thats the good news, and we solved our first mission for the wizard Irongrass, and I wonder if he can bring us to his tower."
"The bad news, unfortunately, we are in a jungle. That means poisonous everything. We need to gather some food, water, and try to find some locals to help us as quickly as we can."
"Questions, thoughts? Our first task is to find some water and food and compose a note for our employer. I'm also thinking we can ask him to send a message to Irongrass and probably Fist giving them information."
Sparhawk looks to his clever and resourceful friends for guidance.
"Ah. Girillon. Nasty."
He nods satisfied, imparting nothing else.
Sparhawk laughs at Lir's joke, "Not bad, your kinda growing on me."
"That beast sounds ferocious. Did it seem intelligent? Could you or Frangipani interact with it I wonder?"
"Bjorn, your usually pretty clever with this stuff, where the heck are we, and what would you advise is our next move?"
"Stay close. I can hide us until we are far enough away. It knows we are here."
[Lir will use an insect concealment spell to hide their exit if the party agrees.]
Frangipani shrugged in response to Sparhawks question, she observes the foliage with interest...
" Lets just go, maybe he's just grumpy because he's not eaten yet?"
“Lir, good idea. Let’s get out of the creatures territory”
Lir holds out the staff and suddenly a cloud of insects surround him - and the party, cloaking them.
"Keep....your mouths...closed."

Frangipani kept her mouth open out of curiosity snacking on the bugs...though she expected to be disappointed by the flavour.
“Alright, let’s go”
we head north ?
( you leaving the cave into the jungle?)
(Isn’t the whole cave coming down or just one passage?)
( the whole shebang. Just like every awesome 80' adventure flick. Whole castle/ hideout comes crashing down as the heroes escape)
(Then yes, into the snake infested jungle we go.)
Lir passes along a hempen rope so the party can follow through the insectile murk as they move forward.
(Sparhawk leading the way?)
Sparhawk grabs the rope and waits for tension.
keeping his mouth closed, he moves carefully forward, trying to navigate the best he can north.

Welcome to Chult
Once they are clear of the current danger.
Sparhawk gathers the crew.

Frangipani is very interested in the word 'coast' and jungle sounds like just another word for ocean in terms of danger.
" Ok, lets go the coast."
" And other stuff is good I guess."
Here is a better map with grid. Each hex is 10 miles, the orange dot is your approximate location.
"Ur. Coast no good. Sharks. I can talk to them, but they would take convincing."'
Smiles his sharp toothed smile at Bjorn.
"'You are tasty morsels."
"If we follow the river, it will lead us there" and Lir places his finger on Mezzo.
