A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
The beak snaps very close to you, enough that you can smell its foul breath. The pair of claws however slashes at Salamir and rakes his sides for 10 damage. It roars at Salamir and gathers itself up to its full height.
(Since he didn’t notice you as he emerged and didn’t turn himself (he is large), I will allow it. Remember that you have an orc working with you that acts on your turn.)

Salamir frantically leans out the way as the beak of Owlbear grazes his cheek, only to see it's claws flashing towards him. Unable to avoid the claws, they rake through his overcoat and across his shoulder, digging deep.
He cries out in pain as he draws his rapier, now holding that in one hand and his lute in the other.
"Hey, watch the coat!", he calls as he ducks low and lunges forward with his rapier, trying to keep the Owlbear between himself and Garth to keep it distracted. As usual his blade is wreathed in thunderous energy.
He then dances backward out of it's reach and retreats away from it, having already suffered a nasty injury.
At that moment DufCrusher charges in, his great axe swinging in a wide arc towards the Owlbear.
Salamir Free Action: Draw rapier Action: Booming Blade with Rapier (Advantage for flanking and Sneak Attack): 12 Damage: 11 (piercing), Booming Blade Damage: 6 (thunder - if the target willingly moves 5 feet or more after being hit) BonusAction: Disengage Movement: 30' away from the Owlbear, and away from the cave entrance

Javier shifts his weight around and moves forward as he casts mind sliver at the owlbear directing his orc companion to assist in the attack with his javelin before moving forward just out of melee range.
The owlbear is surprised by the attacks from behind it as it is quickly flanked by the orcs and the Shadow Guardians. The rapier connects (though not as strongly as you imagine) and the beast is wrapped in thunderous energy, it doesn’t seem to notice. Just then the orc slices into it with a vicious axe slice. The javelin from Javier’s orc connects as well.
Javier focuses his mind on the beast sending a psychic attack his way. -2
Norak steps forward with his great axe and makes two swift slices at the beast, growling in anger. He is surprised yet again at the skill of the Guardians and pleased with how his fellow orcs are fighting.
Norak great axe slice 1 : Attack: 19 Damage: 12

With Norak’s vicious attack, the large creature falls to the ground, and you hear a booming sound as the huge mass of the thing falls forward.
Just at that time, you hear another roar from the entrance to the cave, apparently the mate to the Owlbear appears! It roars out 10 feet from the entrance and bellows with its beak as it sees it’s mate hit the ground!

Erk Swingblade, the orc working with Hlin makes a huge groan as the claws dig in and he drops to the ground. The beak misses but the claws prove deadly, covered now in orc blood. The beast spins around looking for her next target.

Salamir watches the first Owlbear hit the deck and notes the appearance of the second, happy that he had the foresight to retreat away from the cave mouth.
He moves forward whilst putting away his lute, but is too far away to reach the new Owlbear. He concentrates on the cave mouth to make sure there are no more surprises, whilst he moves his now free hand to his shoulder, wincing as he pulls it away and notices the blood on it.
Duf Crusher, on the other hand, pulls his great axe from the body of the first Owlbear, spits on it, and then turns to the second. With a growl he charges it, swinging his great axe overhead looking to bring it down on the beast.

With the combined attacks, the second owlbear falls, whining at the end, with sadness as the axes do their work, falling 15 feet away from her mate, with her great arms outstretched. It is quiet again, except for the cawing of the ravens flying overhead. You see a couple of buzzards circling in the distance, waiting.
After you all stop breathing heavy, Norak stands up and says “I smelled it and saw the signs of it. I wanted you to draw it out, so that we could work quickly together. That didn’t go as planned. But, again, you prove yourselves quite deadly and skilled in working together. Impressive. Now, let’s look at this cave…. Wait a minute, where is Erk?”
Just then, everyone notices Erk Swingblade, deep gashes in his sides, lying on the ground, bleeding out.
