"I am and herbalist and I came here to gather some plants that only grow in the Tarbloom swamp. I guess I got in over my head and got stuck. I have a place not too far from here. It looks like some of you can use a rest. If your interested" replies Aerth.
Aerth leads the party to a simple cabin after a half hour of traveling. You see a cabin covered in blossoming vines and moss. There is a well in front of the cabin and an outhouse to the side. A tabby cat stretches as it relaxes on a barrel near the well. There is a strong scent of different herbs.
Upon entering the cabin, you see the rafters are covered in drying herbs. There is a cauldron in the fireplace and a comfortable looking couch. The counters and the circular table are covered in odds and ends. There are 2 doors on the far right that are closed.
Aerth looks to the party "Come on in, its not much but its comfortable enough."
"I'll be fine after a moment of respite. I think we all will be." He gives Brac a reassuring nod. Squatting down next to one of the bandits he had shot in order to pull the bolt free. He cringes at the sight, closing the bandit's eyes before standing back up. "Right then, your assistance is appreciated, Aerth." The Halfling trails after the woman once the rest of the party is ready to move on.
Being proficient with Alchemist's Supplies and Weaver's Tools, is there anything specific that catches Elyot's eyes upon entering the cabin?
Elyot seats himself on the couch in order to catch his breath and clean his glasses.
Elyot does notice the couch is not well made and is a bit lumpy. He can identify some of the drying herbs on the rafters. Most are medicinal and some are quite dangerous if mishandled.
Once arriving at the cabin Brac spends some time outside cleaning himself up. He uses some of the well water to wash the blood away, clean the chest off and his weapons. The big man make his way inside the cabin and drops himself onto the couch. "Thankyou Aerth. It's quite cosy!" Brac wants to talk with their new friend but the exhaustion of battle manages to overtake and he falls asleep on the couch.
Everyone can take a long rest. You wake and its currently night time.
There is something bubbling in the cauldron and Aerth is nowhere to be seen. The only light source you see is the fire in the fireplace and a lit candle on the table. Its quite dim at the moment.
Having dozed off with the rest, Elyot wakes from his slumber after having curled up on the couch. Upon noting the dim interior, Elyot threads a needle through his braided bracelet in order to activate the faint magical enchantment. Making it shed a soft golden light that extends out 10 feet. Glancing about, once he's realized that Aerth appears to be missing, he swiftly wakes up the rest of the party.
"Aerth, are you awake?" He speaks out while taking in the interior of the cabin.
Galfaen stands lithely. He doesn't appear to have slept like the others, nor moved at all, yet the vigour has returned to his features and movement, and the blood on his clothes is dry. He looks at the tears and stains with mild annoyance, before scanning the small room, taking in the herbs, cauldron and miscellaneous odds and ends.
(In particular, he looks for any sigils in the secret language of Druids - perception: 18)
Brac, being more comfortable then he has been in a while, sits back and watches the warm fire underneath the cauldron.
"What a nice woman. Maybe she would be willing to give us some supplies or medicine for the road. Hopefully she comes back soon, i dont know how long we rested for but we shouldn't hang around too long. Got a ways to go yet!"
Brac taps the top of the chest a couple of times with bis hand, remembering their time restraints.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that Brac, something feels-... odd. Why would she just leave us in the middle of the night? We just rescued her... foolish woman." Without second thought, Elyot pulls out a dagger from his belt and slices a small cut into the side of the couch in order to take a closer look. People always stuff their valuables away in places like this."What about the cauldron, Galfaen? Did she at least leave us some proper food for the road?"
(If there's nothing suspicious stuffed inside the couch, he'll use his Weaver's Tools to "cast" Mending on it, in order to sew it back up.)
Speaking quickly, Galfaen says, "I can use some of my magic to communicate with it, if beast it is. However, that is less magic to aid us throughout the day and there is no guarantee that it is a beast, at least a normal one. There are runes on the cauldron that would indicate it is something... not normal. It could even be that Aerth has taken a bestial form, which would explain her absence".
Galfaen sits down with a thump. "Please to meet you I'm sure", he wheezes. "So what's your story, Miss Aerth?"
"I am and herbalist and I came here to gather some plants that only grow in the Tarbloom swamp. I guess I got in over my head and got stuck. I have a place not too far from here. It looks like some of you can use a rest. If your interested" replies Aerth.
((Character says "yes please". Player says "she's a witch!"))
Galfaen's insight to discern if she is
a witchtelling the truth: 23Brac, covered in blood, smiles at the woman. "Pleased to meet you!" He bellows. "I could definitely use a rest...possibly a clean up as well ha!"
"Eveyone doing ok? You alright Elyot?" Brac tries to wipe some blood from his forehead but proceeds to just wipe more on from the back of his hand.
(She seems sincere in her words)

Galfaen is sat upon the floor, eyes glazed as if in a trance.
Alhorn collapses onto the couch next to Brac "I'm just gonna shut my eyes for a moment"

Alhorn wakes up startled, and looks around the room "what's happening" he cries out. He sees Elyot looking around the room.
Alhorn pulls out his Torch and lights it in the fire. "There, now we can see what's going on"
Alhorn joins Elyot on searching the room, and heads towards the shut doors.

There are some faint druidic runes on the cauldron. It reads "The seasons - Spring - Summer - Fall - Winter"
Alhorn hears movement in one of the closed rooms. It sounds like nails on hardwood floor.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that Brac, something feels-... odd. Why would she just leave us in the middle of the night? We just rescued her... foolish woman." There was nothing suspicious in the couch.
Then there is a sudden impact as a creature lunges at the closed door. Something urgently wants get out. The door splinters, but still holds fast.
The runes on the cauldron glowed brighter when the creature crashed into the door.
Speaking quickly, Galfaen says, "I can use some of my magic to communicate with it, if beast it is. "That sounds like a big dog haha....what if she is some kind of Werewolf? Maybe she locked herself in there to protect us from her."
Brac still quite calm regardless of the thumping creature has his thoughts drift elsewhere.
"I could do with a snack but I am not sure what would be safe to eat..."
