"I think you guys are on to something!" Alhorn says to the party. "I think we should investigate further, perhaps checking the other shut door, what do you think?"
Alhorn moves to the other door to ascertain if anything is suspicious here or in the room.
"How about we move something in front of the door, like the couch, just in case? Then check for a window where we might be able to see what it is that is in there."

Galfaen passes this information to the others. Reassured that the door appears to be holding for now he settles down outside whilst explaining, "Give me ten minutes, and I may be able to communicate with whatever it is. If it looks like it's going to break out, warn me!". With that, he begins a ritual casting of speak with animals.
"Ok, I will take the crowbar. Let's wait and see if Galfaen can communicate with the creature first...if not, I will break it open!!"
Brac takes the crowbar from Eylot. He tosses it up in the air and catches it again. "Yeah this should do the trick. Thanks brother. Ok Galfaen, let us know how you go."
Galfaen motions to Brac to try to lever open the shutters as he calls through to the room’s bestial occupant. The words sound strange to the others, consisting of animalistic grunts and odd squawks. “Aerth, is that you? Can you understand me?”

Alhorn goes to the couch in an attempt to move it in front of the door

(There are two doors leading to other rooms, one where the sound is coming one? Then there's a third door which the party entered from, correct?)

Elyot somewhat reluctantly rummages through his tools, producing a crowbar. "Here, use this if any of you wanna have a go at the shutters."
The crowbar will help anyone that makes the attempt. While Elyot remains hidden, keeping a weary eye towards the thumping door.

The couch does not budge. Anyone else can try moving the couch.
During the 10 minute that Galfaen is casting a ritual the creature again smashed into the door and it starts to buckle and break.
Unless any of the others inform him that the creature is about to break out, Galfaen will continue casting.
(The couch can be used to shore up the door and keep the creature in the room)
Brac notices the creature trying once again to force its way through.
"Here give me a go at the couch. These old things are well built so they are very heavy."
Brac attempts the couch.
