The elf takes out his hood reveling a long silvered hair, sharp features and grey eyes. He share a look with his eagle and looks back to Logan smiling, he stands as he shakes Logan's hand and says.
"Welmet! I am Thandril Chossum and this is Celebquelesse. Please, sit down... your friends too if they want" he looks over Logan's shoulder to the others.
"We could use some help yes... you see, we've acquired a compromise with a family that leaves nearby, in the woods. They have a problem with some creatures, and they asked me for help. You see, these creatures that are threaten them are... werewolves, and they need silver to make weapons to be able to deal with them. " he lowers his voice in this point "There is an old darwen mine in the hills to the southwest of here, and I was planning on going on there and see how much silver I could muster for them.I was about to ask them " he says pointing to the darwes " In case they were interested in check their old mines but... now that you offer yourselves.. "he looks to the party "I cannot pay you, but, besides the chance to help a family, I can offer you, in case we found the ore, that you can pick as many silver as you need so I can forge you a silvered weapon of your choice. What do you say friends? "
Gorm looks to the others and then shrugs. Picking up her mug (and plate if they have those yet) she moves over to sit with the eagle and his elf.
"These are the dwarves mines?" Gorm asks softly, so as not to be heard past their own table, and confused. "Or they belong to the people for all to benefit from?" Her own people had little sense of individual ownership of land but they weren't so estranged from the world to not know others felt very differently. In Gorm's experience Al-Hadhar, the city dwellers, tended to believe everything was owned by some person and got quite... touchy about it.
"I don't think any of us are miners. You could well be better off with the dwarves, if they have experience with such. We are more fighters... Likely we would be better help with the werewolves than the digging."
“Thank you for your invitation,” Logan says as he moves over and sits down. “If the dwarves have a claim to the mine, it only seems right to give them first option, but I would be glad to help—both with the silver and the use of it to defend the people against lycanthropes.”

"Well"replies the elf " for all I know, they mines belonged to a clan of dwarves but they leave it long time ago. What?" he looks over the eagle "Yes, yes, you all are right, perhaps we should ask them, even if they are not interested they could have information about the place that could be useful yes. "
Agreeing to go with him to speak with the dwarves, Logan says, "One thing you didn't mention was the nature of this compromise you discussed with the family. Is there something further going on here that isn't being spoken?"
Wary of being manipulated, Logan considers if there is anything going on beneath the surface here...Insight: 6

"Oh nothing that I am aware of... it's just that my friend here thinks that I offered myself too soon to help them... ok ok I'll tell them" he says to the eagle " You see, they told me they needed help, then I promised to them to help them, and then they told me all about the werewolves and... well it was too late for me to back so... here I am, asking to strangers to risk their lives... I mean... I should be more prudent... shouldn't I?"
He looks to the eagle again
"Well and who's fault is that? Apparently you couldn't teach my father, what makes you think it would be different with me?" the eagle squeaks and opening his wings, turns to look to the fireplace, giving them the back
"Sorry about that, she can be temperamental sometimes... she will be alright. Shall we?"
"Perhaps Celebquelesse should do the negotiating?" Gorm asks. It is tough to know if she is serious or not and she hides any clues behind her mug as she slowly drinks...
The eagle looks over her shoulder to Gorm and squeaks.
"She says that it will be the smarter decision" translates Thandril with a light tone.
He then goes to the dwarves table, followed by Logan and start speaking in their tongue, obviosuly introducing himself and Logan before switching to the common tongue after one of them reply in kind.
" Logan, allow me to introduce you to Gralgorm, Gramkyl, Armgram, Rangarn and Bramgron of the noble clan of the Firestones. " each dwarf nods as their name is spoken "You see, it has been taken into our attention that some miles to the southwest of here lies an old dwarven mine, a silver mine to be more precise, that now lay abandoned. We happen to be in dire need of silver to solve a werewolf problem, and we were asking two things. One, we didn't want to... " he hesitates looking for the right word " take away what't not ours to take, so we think it would be a good idea to ask you if that's ok if we go there and try our luck. Also, perhaps you alrady have an interest in the place, and our objectives may aling."
The dwarves share looks among themselves and a couple of them take a long sip of their beers.
"We do not know nothing of such mines. Go and do what you want" says Bramgron, really uncomfortable.

Watching the exchange between Thandril, Logan and the dwarves Dr. A has no doubts that the dwarves had recgonized the place but they are afraid and ashamed not only to acknowledge but even to talk about it. Whatever the secret of that place is, must be terrible.
Speaking quietly to the others, Logan says, "Yes, I thought their reactions strange, but I was ready to take them at their word that they don't want anything to do with the mines. That Armgram, fellow, though, looked like he may have wanted to tell us something."
"Shall we get to bed tonight and start out early in the morning for the mines?" asks Logan, looking to Thandril, "How far away did you say it was?"

The night passes and the next day, after just three more hours of travel they finally see the Dales beneath them. Daggerfold is vale surrounded by high hills and small mountains, and from their vantage point they can see several villages and cottages scattered along the landscape. The Vale is almost fifteen miles wide and over two hundred long, and they have entered almost by the southern and western corner of it.
Logan's home is still almost five days to the northwest, but their objective is just one day to the east, almost at the end of the vale, or so say their erudite companion.
They descend following the path and when the sun is starting its descend towards the west, they are walking among the woods and find an inn at the edge of the road. The inn is formed by a two history building, constructed as a T with the smaller part being the entrance. There are two other buildings, one seems to be a barn and the other one stables. A wooden, unpainted fence closes all three buildings and near the center of the compound there is a stone well. Smoke raises from the central chimney and of some smaller ones. Above the main door, which is partially elevated from the ground and can be reached by a pair of trhee steps stairs, there is a sing which says "The Possum and the Cat".
[We are likely in early afternoon given the description above. Depending how far the mine is, we could do an initial foray today.)

"The mines should be a day and a half from here" says Thandril
"Excuse me " says the innkeeper "I just check your cart and you really have a lot of of meat! I feel bad for our previous deal, I tell you what you all" he includes the elf now as they seems ot be aquictance "What about four nights with meals to make up to all that food. Each meal includes two drinks but beyond that you'll have to pay. This deal doesn't expire "he adds, apparently having overhearing their last past of the conversation. "Should you stay just one night you can always enjoy your stay here until our agreement is fulfilled. And... "he puts more drinks on the table "this one is on the house"
After sharing a few more words with them he departs to attend another couple of travelers that had just entered the inn.
"Well, thank you I guess "says Thandril after the exchange with the innkeeper. "We can depart now but if you want to stay here and get some rest for the rest of the night, we can go tomorrow "
"I wouldn't mind to stay here if you don't mind" says Chara " I would like to help but I am afraid that I would be more a nuissance than a helping hand inside a mine. Should I have access to a library I could try to gather some information of that mines but... I can wait you here" she says more as a plead than a suggestion.
Gorm is a bit bewildered and amused but of course accepts the generous offer of the innkeeper after an appropriate attempt to decline saying a deal is a deal. Once that is over and done with she will look to the others and shrug. "I was just happy to have it used instead of rot," she admits.
"Whether we wait, I think, should be up to Thandril here," Gorm offers. "You need not come, of course, Chara. And your accomodations are now set. But Thandril is best suited to know just how much of a danger the family in the woods is in..."
Gorm, of course, is ready to rest a night or head right out...

From Logan's perspective perhaps something that he, or Thandril had said may have offended the dwarves.
They frown their eyebrows and look to other side at Logan's words, some move in their chairs.
Armgram looks to him but before he could speak Brangrom says
"Typical of humans. There is a mine and we dwarves must know about it and run towards it. I said we know nothing of it and that's the end. Good night"
Thandril raises his eyebrowns to Logan and says "Thank you for your time good lords. Enjoy your dinner" and he starts to go back to their own table.
