Sarros picks up on the line "Nothing evil may pass through here" and takes a moment to sense the weave of magic in the area.
He looks at his comrades aside him in the bushes and nods slightly. "I thought the source of the laughter illusions may have been caused by this creature- but it appears to be harmless." he whispers.
Ban shrugs, "Guess the jig is up. It appears she knows of our presence." As she exits, Ban brushes the dirt off her clothing with a few swipes of the hand and a few pats on her bottom. Giving a slight wave, she says to the satyr, "Hey, nice place ya got here. Mind if we join you?"
It appears we are drinking... but don’t be surprised if the faun speaks this language as well. They can be very old.
Turning back to Dawn, Grol says “Thank you for your hospitality. I hope my... caution does not offend.” Grol reaches over, and patting Zephyros on the shoulder, casts <spell>Protection From Evil and Good</spell>. He continues “We have met beings who have presented themselves as one thing but were something much more sinister. We mean no harm, and appreciate the protection your glade provides.”
OOC: I would like Grol to continue casting Protection from Evil and Good as often as I can, alternating team members including himself. Also, did my perception roll pick up any other creatures scents in the vicinity?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Grol
Sorry I missed that perception check earlier.
You do sense the presence of many creatures in the area. There are some number that "smell" and "hear" different from the ordinary forest creatures that you also detect. As for seeing them, it's a little too dark so you aren't able to really see anything, but you do hear owls hooting, insects chirping, etc.
In short, there is something else around other than normal forest stuff, but what else that is you aren't sure.
Sarros and Grol
You both realize the spell on the glade is like an "always on" version of Sanctuary
Dawn is unsurprised when she sees Ban and Sarros come out and says in-between gulps of her drink saying to both of you, "Ah, there you are. Of course, come sit, if you wish. I was wondering when you would come out."She pops a grape in her mouth and motions you both to a stump as she chews it.
She sees Grol cast a protection spell and says in response to him, "No offense taken. You all must have been through some rough nights I'd say! By the looks of it, you all met Blackbark. He's a forest walker that lives in these woods. He doesn't normally take to violence though unless someone tries to hack him down...you all don't seem the type that would do that. At most, he may get mischievous and trip someone with a root, but never outright attacks."
(The tree you all fought earlier was black and gnarled, so she's likely referring to it)
She casts Healing Word on everyone once she sees all 5 of you were in a fairly recent fight and as a gesture of good faith. Everyone gains 8 HP.
Realgâr holds up his wooden cup in a toasting manner as a way of saying thanks.
With everyone's passive perceptions, you can clearly hear light buzzing sounds coming towards you from all directions.
Realgâr hears it, but is too absorbed in drinking his wild berry wine to care.
Grol looks disapprovingly at the flower that was his sword, then sheathes it. He then takes one of the cups, and holding it under his nose, sniffs at it, then tilts the cup and takes a drink.
The wind shifts and he tells the others. “She’s telling the truth. I can smell other beings coming this way.”
He gives the faun another skeptical look, then sits cross legged on the ground to await the newcomers. “Here’s to trust.” He says before downing the last of the drink in the cup.
Dawn, quite confused at what Zephyros has said, giggles and says "You're a peculiar one! ...yond hurtling? No I'm not hurt at all! Forgive me for asking, but where do you come from?" Dawn is not exactly sure what the Triton has said, or asked, but she is intrigued as to what race he belongs to.
She snickers at Grol's reaction to his sword, then says "To trust then!" and takes a drink. Realgâr joins in.
Zephyros and Grol both drink, you both feel as if the fatigue and weariness in your bodies washes away. You both also feel very healthy for some reason. The wine tastes like sweet and tart wild berries, with a high alcohol content. A few cups will likely intoxicate most people.
Grol
Tapping in to your knowledge of healing magic, you realize the wine has a Greater Restoration effect, hence why you feel full of vigor.
Realgâr downs a 3rd cup. Everyone notices he is starting to look drunk, and happy. His cheeks are almost as red as his red hair.
At the tree line surrounding you, suddenly many small fairies (at least 20-30) resembling fire flies come flying towards everyone. Dawn says, "Always a pleasure my friends." They land on various untouched cups and dunk their heads into the wine, drinking their fill. After a draining their drinks, she refills them and the fairies start flying erratically all around you all in a playful manner before landing drunkenly on the table stump. A few snatch a piece of fruit or a nut and begin chomping away. One fairy falls into a wine cup.
The rest of the fairies giggle. The giggling is similar to what you heard during the fight earlier, but it sounds as if the pitch is different.
Dawn asks, "So what brings you all here? It cannot be to just see Blackbark. You all smell like salt too!"
Sarros is present, but not consuming anything. Just observing for now, sitting on the grass.
He has taken his 'sling ring' off his fingers and rolls it between his knuckles like one would do with a coin. The ring sparkles slightly, as he uses Arcane recovery.
“We have just landed from an adventure overseas and are ...following up on a lead.” Grol said as he shaped his pack into the form of a pillow.
”Forgive me.” He said, stretching out and carefully placing his head on the make-shift pillow. “But I am tired and require rest.” He pops head head up and, opening one eye says to his friends “...let me know if I am needed.”
Ban's overall demeanor is friendly but cautious and alert. She takes a seat on the stump by Gol side--saddle, arm resting on the table. As the fairies arrive, Ban looks on in their beauty. Fairies may be pretty, but they're mischievous. She's not too worried about being charmed though. Her heritage and youth in the feywild taught her a thing or two.
Dawn sees the group is a bit too tired from their long march and fight and says, "Oh my, you all must have had a tough journey here. Well, it is fate that led you all here to my glade. Please, rest, and fear not. Nothing will harm you while you're here. There are other fairies watching the Forest close by and I will watch over you while you sleep. Or if you wish to eat and drink I shall do so too!"
There are large patches of warm, thick clovers all over the glade and it's comparable to sleeping on a very fine, exceptional mattress — something you all have no experienced in quite a while, being at sea.
The glade is quite safe and you all can see little lights flashing in the distance in all directions that are likely other fairies watching just beyond the boundaries of Dawn's glade. Sarros and Grol can tell the magical barrier warding off evil is still up.
The fawn, skunk, and rabbit with exceptionally large feet that you all randomly saw on the trail earlier appear at the glade and make their way to the stump. The rabbit thumping its feet on a root and the skunk lays in some wild flowers.
Dawn remains at the stump, quietly sitting with her other drunk fairies, either happy to watch over you for the evening or engage in merriment. Realgâr gets hammered off his beard from drinking so much and passes out, landing flat on his back off the stump.)
(If you have nothing further to say to her for the evening, then everyone receives the benefits of a long rest as an uneventful night gives way to day. Dawn is still in the glade when you all wake up and everything appears to be in order with your gear)

Taking her pick of some berries, Ban squeals a little and kicks her legs slightly at the refreshing taste. Embarrassed, she reels it in and inquires "So, Dawn, do you know anything of the cave systems around this area?"
Dawn says to Zephyros as she takes a gulp of a drink, "Oh, just imagine a small human with wings. They are quite fun!"
She then says to Ban, "I know of them, sure. They're a few hours from here. Just be careful if you're venturing there — lots of nasty things have been going there from time to time for some reason in recent years. Goblins, orcs, and other foul things. If you don't mind me asking, what brings you to those caves? I heard goblins talking about gold there, but I personally have no ventured *in* them. Also, would you be able to clear something up for me? When I spoke to my fairies they mentioned they saw Blackbark earlier, he had nearly been killed by adventurers matching your descriptions. As I said, you all don't seem the type...what happened with that old tree? He is not a hostile soul."
(She doesn't seem hostile in any way, but more concerned about what could be going on in the woods)
