The group hears extremely loud swearing in the distance, and Kor, through your familar connection, you see another human figure suddenly appear between the two henchmen, and start swirling in a twister of flashing steal harshly reflecting the afternoon sunlight. Mimi averts his(her?) eyes, and you can see the hulking figure getting up and gathering the large weapon he dropped when he ran into the caltrops trap.
"Seems like we've caught a break. If nothing else, this should give us a chance to disappear. We should stay away from the inn though, too public. That halfling woman that Berrus and I met offered to shelter us on their farm on the outskirts. She's no friend of the Reds either, in fact she gave us a possible route to infiltrate Glasstaff's manor. We should tiptoe it out of here, spend the night in her barn, then leave in the morning to handle one of those quests for the old vet."
As if on an afterthought Kor turns to the dragonborn and says, "Plus, I think you'll like her Val."
While the two lackies are being tied up with this new distraction, big hairy and beautiful is making his way towards you all big metal weapon in hand. I’d guesstimate you all have about 20 seconds before he rounds the corner.
"Sounds like a plan to me! Lead the way Kor. We should get out of here, and now." Valathar starts toward Kor, and raising his staff to the sky, summons a rolling Fog Cloud to cover them as they run out of town. At the very least, it should be a confusing distraction for a moment, if not a good amount of cover as the group leaves.
Okay, one more time for consistency’s sake, let’s get a party wide sneak Roll to the farmhouse. Everyone gets an additional +6 bonus to stealth rolls. The jouneys a bit longer, so I’ll make the DC 60.
The group successfully stealths its way to the Alderleaf farm. Carp is outside the grassy hill like home, playing with a squirrel that seems oddly tame, even somewhat intelligent from the way it’s waggling it’s hands as it chitters away to the boy. You all notice several woodland creatures coming from the woods surrounding the property, all giving you shifty eyes from the tree like, but none of them approach the group.
Carp, a very little boy who’s head literally does not reach your knee caps smiles toothily up at Kor.
”Good morning Mr. Kor! Mom’s cooking second lunch right now, or was it early supper? Anyways, she’s cooking!”
The boy then looks at your comrades, and his eyes light up at the half-orc, and the dragon born.
”Woah, I’ve never seen anyone like you guys before! Mr. Umm. Half-Orc, I think? If you are one, is it true that you can lift up entire trees with one hand, and that you eat steel nails without milk for breakfest?”
He then turns to Val and excitably chatters away-
“And you’re a dragon born right? Mom talks about you guys all the time, her best friend was apprently one. Is it true that whenever you cough you spew fire or ice or something all over the place? Or that you can turn into a full dragon whenever you get angry?”
Berrus, you see that other then thick woods to one side, it’s basically flat fields of oats, and nothing more. Multiple vandalism scars are present around the area, however the thick forest is teaming with an unnatural amount of woodland critters that are critically eyeing all of you.
"Haha no, I don't spew fire when I cough, luckily enough. I grew up among the trees, and I imagine they wouldn't take to a singing everytime I caught a cold. As for turning into a full sized dragon, well..." Valathar trails off, giving the little boy a wink of one scally eye. "Your farm seems to be quite the haven for wildlife son. Do you have an affinity for these animals, because they sure seem to have taken a liking to you!" He gestures toward the squirrel that the boy was just playing with.
The boy nods excitably at the dragon-borns question.
“Yessir! Like, I can usually understand their body language pretty good, but sometimes if I concentrate hard enough, they start speaking for real! My friends don’t believe me though, they can never hear it. My mom does though, she’s a lot better at talking to them then I am. She makes it look easy peasy!”
Ahh but they dont seem armed either

Kor relates the events to the rest of the party.

AB is still going with the flow.

"Do we have anymore of those caltrops?" AB asks as the fog cloud begins to coalesce. "This fog would hide them, even if they're looking for them."
Berrus follows the group again keeping to the rear

Kor scatters a bag of ball bearings into the area of the mist. "Don't want to maim the Smith."
He then takes off in a crouch towards the Alderleaf farm.
Stealth: 27
Couldn't get the ball bearing tooltip to work. It's DC 10 DeX save or prone
stealth 9

Stealth: 10
Stealth: 9
If my math is correct, we only need a 7 to get to 60, and with a +6, even if Mav rolls a 1, like me, we should hit it!?

Kor orders Mimi to perch on the Alderleaf house and watch for any approaches from the direction of the town.
"Don't mind the critters," Kor says to the others as the approach Carp's position, "The family uses some kind of amateur nature magic."
He smiles and waves at Carp as the approach, "Carp, you're mom around? It's very important we talk to her quickly."
Berrus surveys the area for defencability

"Nice to meet you, little man!" AB smiles, still holding his ribs. "This," he says, motioning toward their "pet" wolf, "is Dancer."
