Ömertyr gives Sam a shrug as he tells of the issue no longer being an issue, though Sam understands that the cloud giant would likely have had his back if asked.
Shenoh, able to understand what Sam is saying in giant chooses to ignore it and responds to vin, "rest, yes you all need it, I have no potions or any speedy way for you all to recover energy, though if you need healing there is another cleric on hand. For actual rest I'd recommend asking Ginro when you see him." As she says this, Sol, having been taking the incoming reports and reading them, approaches the table and put one of the thick pages on the table in front of Shenoh, she reads the note and nods to Sol "ah, it's done! We should greet him, brief him on the situation and do some introductions after." She then turns to the group. "I'll be leaving you here for a moment, you'll see Ginro soon." And with that both Shenoh and Sol exit, sol hurrying to keep up with the huge djiin's strides.
And then the group were alone, the light from the reflective globe in the middle of the table illuminating all of your faces. Griff shifts awkwardly, glancing at Muir, waiting for someone to breach the silence. Ömertyr takes himself off to the side of the room and sits on the floor, legs outstretched as he summons handfuls of cloud and seems to be tending to the various wounds he has accrued this past day on the isle.
Gewyn lets out a sigh as Shenoh and Sol leave, letting his posture slump under the weight of the last few hours. Or days. Time is strange. He leans forward against the table and rolls his neck slowly, stretching out the kinks. "Well, we made it through that alive," he says simply and softly. "On to the next. Let's go aroundand share how we're doing. Starting with... Muir." He looks up and makes meaningful eye contact with the Loxodon. "What's up? Vampire got your trunk?"
"You plan to leave Thaeir now?", he asks directly. "It's time to speak plainly, if you can't get past what happened, we need to know. Or if you think there are more pressing matters back home, we need to know".
"No judgement, just speak your truth", he says putting a hand on Muir's shoulder.
As Muir is put on the spot, Elthana looks to him, hopeful. But as he continues to be abstinent and not discuss what is bothering him, she frowns. She looks to Sam and back to Muir wondering if they could ever fix this rift that has developed between them.
Just as she is about to interject, the subject of Hog's bag comes up and her eyebrows raise, "Wait, I do have a message." She pulls it out of her pack and reads it aloud.
'Muir. Hirsi has finally made her way to me, I'm keeping her at Hazel's to avoid any suspicion, she confirmed our greatest fears, the clerics are moving toward Marblestead likely arriving in about a week and a half. There is evidence of some kind of charm or mind control, this is why I haven't received responses from old Master Gore even after I confirmed that he still lives. I don't know what they want or why they are marching on Marblestead. But I'm going to bring this concern before the council. Did you or your group have any interactions with the clerics of Hermes that might give us information on their motives? Goodall"
she then pulls out another paper and smooths it out, "I responded to her and got this in response."
' Elthana! Thank goodness, I took a chance writing this in common instead of encrypting it in druidic script, I m thankful you are in possession of the bag. It concerns me that you are detained, what happened? The clerics will likely reach marblestead within two weeks perhaps just under, I'll be taking this information to the council as soon as possible. If they are wanting to fight us for some reason then we could likely meet them at trundlesten and hold them off there, falling back to the forests south of marblestead as a last resort. This I will also present to the council. Your information on the clerics is most appreciated, if ebb is a false idol and is being puppeted by this high priest Te'louim that you mentioned, then we know who to meet with to parlay. perhaps if we can capture and separate Ebb from the people controlling him he could think clearer and assist us to understand. The only other news I have is that the reintegration of the city folk back into their houses has gone smoother than expected, there was of course some looting and such when the treasury was baring down on us but we all managed to escape and return when the danger was over. The council has made sure the peacekeepers have been named the saviours but the how has been kept vague. People are also concerned about where the sea is going, since the portals opened, the tide rises to about a mile out from where it used to, contact from the chattel coast says the same thing and so we can only assume that the entire continent has gotten bigger. It is not dangerous or pressing merely a concern. I have certain druids living out on the beaches under the cliffs taking note and making sure to report if the seas receed further, but so far no notable differences since the first change. Goodall
"Luckily time moves a lot faster here than there, so her two weeks is what, more like 8 weeks here? Though I still don't know if that is enough time here, but we have to try."
Sam gives Elthana his best shocked and innocent look when she chastises him about watching what he says. "What?? The woman has been threatening me for some reason from the get go... And asking me to save her realm. Can't a guy know where he stands? Besides, what is this book she wanted to keep from you? I'm not much for upholding leaders who are into censorship..."
Sam watches with some interest as the spotlight is put on Muir. Perhaps others are realizing he's not acting the same after all?
"Now, now... Muir is a big boy now. I am sure he can handle anything that may have happened to him," Sam chimes in. "Not one to be knocked over by a feather or anything, our Muir..."
Upon the reading of the messages Sam is quiet and contemplative for a bit. "That'll be hard on the fishers," he says softly. "And the connected businesses... And of course trade will be affected eventually as well. Think about it, the ocean receding seems a small thing if you don't depend on it but now suddenly docks are all but useless, eh? Certainly the large ships can't reach them. If it's a mile, likely the small one neither. It'll surely disrupt fishing patterns if not the life cycles of the fish and such altogether. I don't think this is such a small matter as she seems to think it is..."
Elthana looks over at Sam, "Threatening you? I doubt it. I know how you feel about people in authority, and I get it, but please give her a chance. For me?" she smiles at his book comments, "Oh no, she wasn't trying to censor anything. I was reading it when she joined me in the lamp and I wanted to keep it."
Turning back to Muir, "My response? Hang on, let me find it.."
So detained... since we have informed Shenoh about Nivara and my true role in all of it, the queen of this isle has decided to keep me safe in well, a lamp. I have no means of getting out and I believe the team is helping destroy all the mornlyf as well as the spy that lived on this isle for centuries. I don't know what all you know about our mission here, feel free to ask questions, I'll probably be here awhile. For the brief time we were with Ebb, and even when we met up with the clerics later, he seems like a decent person. Mainly green and overwhelmed, but unless they have somehow changed him, he is not a bad person and is who I would talk to to try and understand what is going on.Vague eh? I'm assuming Muir told you? That we sent another lodestone to the Treasury to keep it afloat? The threat here is huge, big enough that if Nivara conquers this plane I'm sure it will leak into our plane which is in part why we are still here. Depending on when I get out of here, maybe there is a way we can help with the clerics. I hope there isn't going to be a war. I'm glad we can communicate,Elthana.
Vin listens, trying to make sense of all that has been read out. Some of it seemed vaguely familiar, but some of it not so much.
"So what does that mean? It sounds bad, but is it something they need us to deal with?", he asks, trying to weigh up the importance of what is happening back home and what is happening here. "I mean, if it is portal related, which it likely is, then we need to investigate, right? And even with eight weeks here, we lose four days every time we sleep, so it isn't as long as that".
Elthana frowns, "Now wait a second Muir, I told you and our group everything, your turn to do the same. What did you write and I'll happily send it to Goodall."
"Yes, threatening!" Sam insists instinctively. "What else do you call..." He lets off and sighs, pushing it all away with a weary wave of his hand.
"Whatever. It's all my fault, sure. Why bother knowing both sides when Sam is involved, eh? Well and good then..." Sam says and then gets up and wanders off to the most empty portion of the room so that he can roll out his bedroll, lie down and clothes his eyes for a bit, ignoring all the craziness. He cannot help but hear the others even as he tries to doze off and starts to arise and object when Muir asks for the bag... But why bother? He's just the one who is always wrong and so if he suggests Muir might be scribbling off the formula of Mornlyf to the druids or other such things nobody is going to listen or care anyway. He's useless to the group until they have something they need hit. Fine.
Muir watches Sam leave and whispers to the group exactly what he wrote and tells him why he would not speak openly "I am sorry I do not trust Sam, I will not stop healing him and aiding him in battle as I did when he dropped unconscious. I will continue to do my job when it comes to Sam but I will not speak outwardly in front of him. He has changed. He attacked me with his animals, he is more aggressive, obstinate, and outright nasty, If you all cannot understand why I will not speak in front of him than for that I am sorry.
He passes the note to everyone at the table to read
Goodall, The clerics wish to prevent the destruction of Lyvander as seen by the false prophet Ebb. I do not know who feeds them these visions or if they make them up. However, preventing the destruction means destroying the portals. If they are moving to Marbelstead they may mean to destroy the portal which would trap us here. If they have Gore under a spell and charmed him it is because he would not allow whatever destruction they planned. For all we know they've killed the inhabitants of the already weakened fey realm or destroyed the portal in Hokum cutting off our realm from important allies. Much has happened here. I will write more when not in mixed company.
"They certainly can try....They did something to Gore possibly charmed him to gain access to the portal....From there we do not know what happened. Has it been destroyed? DId they invade a weakened Fae realm and destroy it? We don't have those answers but either way they are marching on Marbelstead....If they attack who will stop them?"

Muir opens his mouth to break his vow of silence for a moment but decides to ask Elthana later

Muir forces a smile "I am fine. Tired and ready to go home" he keeps it short and moves on "and you?"
Vin looks to Muir as he mentions going home.
"You plan to leave Thaeir now?", he asks directly. "It's time to speak plainly, if you can't get past what happened, we need to know. Or if you think there are more pressing matters back home, we need to know".
"No judgement, just speak your truth", he says putting a hand on Muir's shoulder.
“I don’t know if any messages came through from Goodall. I do not have the bag. So, no I am staying. I will continue to help.”
Vin breathes a sigh of relief, patting Muir on the shoulder.
He looks across to Elthana, to see if she has anything to say about messages from the bag.
As Muir is put on the spot, Elthana looks to him, hopeful. But as he continues to be abstinent and not discuss what is bothering him, she frowns. She looks to Sam and back to Muir wondering if they could ever fix this rift that has developed between them.

"It's just us and Örmertyr, and he doesn't understand a word of common", Vin prompts.
