Braddik puts the gauntlet on. After a while he begins to get a feel for the item and learns something about its use...
OOC: For Braddik
Mocking Gauntlets:Wonderous item, uncommon (requires attunement). The bearer may cast Vicious Mockery once per day.
You unleash a string of insults laced with subtle enchantments at a creature you can see within range. If the target can hear you (though it need not understand you), it must succeed on a wisdom saving throw or take 1d4 psychic damage and have disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn. Wisdom Save DC is 12. Thanks Melredor for catching that :)
Thinking for a moment about how best to describe it, Braddik ponders for a moment before saying, "I think it....it's just rude....like if I wanted, my insults might just carry arcane weight....that should be fun here in the land of the proper fey...."

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
The eternal twilight continues as you wake fully and prepare for the trials ahead be they imagined, real, or other wise. It all seems like the same thing here in the land of the Fey. The Wizards work their craft on the newly found items, and you all break your fast and enjoy the extended period of quiet.
A short while later you hear what sounds like a small cattle bell tinkling faintly in the direction of the wall. The terrain though mostly flat undulates and hides the source of the noise in a dell some way off. Moments pass and the sound does indeed grow louder. You all watch keenly and finally see small figure in robes walking along the path with a staff in one hand a a pack slung on its back that seems to dwarf it. You wonder how they are not crushed under the weight of it!
OOC: ALL
You have had enough time to do any further perpetration and identifying you would like to do. Just let me know what you would like know, have prepared etc :)
Grigor will spend the rest of the evening adding new spells to his spellbook and pondering what the goblin king's riddle might be. "he said A way forward when all is dark should you unravel it! Ten men's length, ten men's strength, Ten men cannot break it, yet a young boy takes it... What could it mean? Xorin, do you have a clue? "
Marching order: Grigor will positioning hisself somewhere in the middle of the others
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kassandra hands the vials over to the mages to identify, leaving the problem of the riddle to them as well, never one for puzzles that weren't solved with the surgical, or blunt, application of force. To those ends, she spent the rest of the night maintaining her equipment before setting the watch.
When the morning comes, she wakes early to exercise lightly. When the group begins to move, she takes the front, holding her shield to her side. Seeing the figure approaching and, wary of a trap, scans the surroundings for any hidden ambushers.
After selecting his spells for the day, Xorin spends a few minutes searching his pack and then looks to Grigor, "That's disapointing. I was given the necessary components for the Identify ritual some time ago but it appears the pearl is not with me." he mostly seems to shrug that off as he stands.
"Your answer is something very strong in its construction but portable and light enough to be transported easily." he looks at his pack and wiggles the rope on the side, "like this rope." he situates himself next to Grigor as far as their order is concerned.
Xorin looks at the odd traveller with the over sized pack, "That's impressive."

Grigor looks at Xorin in surprise. "That...incredible, you're right. I must say I'm impressed, Xorin." He looks at Xorin with awe and says to himself, shaking his head, "A rope, of course!"

Ayrlin nods at Xorin “Yep, the answer to that creepy riddle is a rope, that’s why I asked if any of you had one some hours ago “ he smiles “ But how or where we are going to use it I have no clue.”
He then look at the traveller. “Who could be?” He asks to Xorin.
The heavily laden figure continues up the rough path towards you, bell tinkling as he goes. Now he is closer you see a wizened old dwarf, long grey hair and beard in plats. He wears a long red robe festooned with gold chains, jewels and semi precious stones. You also see many pockets and pouches, and several belts and bandoleers.
He huffs and puffs using the stout old oak staff for support, which at its top has a dented and rusty old cow bell. His sturdy boots clump on down the path, and he seems to not notice you until he is almost nose to nose with the group.
He pulls up suddenly eyes going wide, "Oh!", he breathes heavily, puffing out his moustache with a long exhale. He then Pokes Kasandra on the shoulder, "You are real...interesting. Well glad to see my imagination is not getting the better of me today." He give a short sharp laugh and mumbles under his breath for a few moments.
"Dear, Dear for give me where are my manners, you have the right of way of course." He Slowly shuffles to the side of the path, "Never let it be said that Simmedesh Nissfush the Wise was rude to a fellow traveller!"
Grigor whispers to Xorin "If he is a merchant, maybe he could have some ingredients for you...perhaps you are lucky and he have a pearl"
Than he goes to the dwarf "Good morning sir Simmedesh Nissfush, my name is Grigor Marsk. " Grigor bow a little "Me and my companions here are looking for a way to the goblin king. Do you have any information for us as to where we should go? And when I see your big backpack, don't you happen to have any items that might help us on our trip that you'd be willing to sell? We would be greatful for every help you can give us".
Some little insight for the Characters who are attentive:
For the first time you realize that Grigor can be very polite. He moves and talks as if he's used to talking to nobles or important people.
"Good day to you young man," The old dwarf smiles, "it is a pleasant surprise to find some one with cultured manners on this road." He huffs and puffs and mumbles to himself again under his breath. You all begin to suspect that this traveller mostly has himself for company on the roads he has travelled.
"Information you say?" He looks keenly at the group and then back to Grigor, "You have the look of a Wizard if have it right, hmmm, hrrrmm, yes indeed."
He begins to loosen the straps on his huge pack, "A way to the Goblin King, hrrrmmm, yes, yes, that old rascal. Well perhaps we travellers can be of help to each other, indeed, hrrm, yes."
He lets the pack slip off his shoulders and sighs in relief, "Ahhh, goodness me, that is a blessing. When one takes their home with them their steps are heavy and their nights are warm."Sitting on top of his pack he begins to rub his feet and knees and rolls his shoulders, making happy noises as he works the kinks out of his muscles.
"I am no merchant mind but I may have picked up an item or two on my travels in this place with which we can trade if you like!" He leans forward placing his hands on his knees and says, "Which will you have first?"

"You have a good eye mister Nissfush, yes I am a wizard. I studied at the academy for many years and dedicated myself to protecting and helping people. Of course, I'm also trying to develop my skills...But enough of me! my elf friend here" He points to Xorin. "He's also a wizard. He's just learned a new spell, but he's lost an important material. You wouldn't happen to have a pearl with you? Or some other stuff for our group that might help in this dangerous place?"
Does Grigor feel that the dwarf is trustworthy? Insight: 12
"Seems safe enough." Braddik says, shrugging as he slips the gauntlet on his hand.
