Davis moves over near Eirlys and Khione as they finish speaking. "I don't know much about these strangers, but feel keeping an eye on them might be wise." He says with a frown as two of the strangers seem to be exchanging a ring. "Do we take them back to our own place for the night, or do we help them get set up elsewhere?"
"Perhaps it would be best for us to set them up elsewhere, guide them if they require. I apologize if I seem overly-cautious, but I'd prefer keeping our private quarters private, personally. But if you both feel that we should aid them, then I will follow alongside you. I believe the three of us work well together, and I trust your input." Khione said, looking between Davis and Eiryls.
Ivy smiles widely, patting their nose with their finger and nodding along in consideration to Walf's wisdom. Straining their ears in anticipation to listen to Durnir and Adaban's exchange, Ivy can't help but pick up the abundance of whispering going on from Eirlys and the others. Popping up on tip toes with nose in air, Ivy observes them a few moments to inspect their body language before slinking off. She saunters over in curiosity to nose around, and pokes their head in the circle of whispering observers.

Eirlys had not been trying too hard to hide the fact they were speaking, but did not realize she was basically not hiding it at all. Ivy would detect that the halfling is clearly non-hostile, and while listening to her companions is clearly thinking about something. "There should be several places close to ours that they can stay in." She whispers back. "So it shouldn't be a problem."
((Perception: 18 ))
She seems too wrapped up in the conversation and her thoughts to notice Ivy sneaking up.
With her back now turned to the other four, Khione is too focused on her thoughts and her companion's words to notice Ivy's advances. "That should be fine, then," she said. "You think it would be best to keep them close by? We can keep an eye out, certainly, see if they start causing any more trouble. I've found people often get inspired by the acts of those around them. Though we did stop the murders, it'll only be a matter of time before someone else follows in the same tracks."
Ivy, looking at the elf before you, you'd find her to be insanely closed off and guarded; her posture is almost abnormally perfect and unwavering as she speaks, which you could figure out is a technique used by people- especially those trained in the art of deception- to mask their body language from revealing any possible lies or tidbits of information. You'd also notice, from your angle of her face from the side, that she doesn't appear to have blinked at any point during your interaction.
You notice this particular magpie has something held within its beak - something that is glinting in the sunlight with every abrupt tilt of its head as it looks around.

Walf roots through his bag looking for his jar of bugs. He unscrews the top and takes out a few beetles trying to coax the Magpie over to exchange the food for whatever it has in beak.
Having plopped themselves comfortably on the ground at Khione’s feet, almost on top of them, Ivy eavesdropped and listened to the conversation development as if she were included all along. She’d focus on munching on her snack while Khione, Eirlys and Davis spoke. Once there became a lull in the discussion, Ivy would finish tearing off a chunk of bread and would pipe up from their position from the ground. “Y’know, I can appreciate the democracy you folks have going on in this little group.” She’d motion to everyone with their snack and nod. “And yous solved a murder!?” Eyes looking up from below widen to emphasize wonder and amazement. “You’re like a… a Mystery Gang!” She blurts with a bounce. “We be lucky to have escorts like yous!” Ivy beams. “Just in time too.” She points to Durnir and Adaban. ”There’s request to go to a temple amongst an exchange of a ring and talk of communion!” Hands go up in the air in a flourish of energy.

The magpie takes interest almost immediately, swooping down and landing on the rim of the jar. In it's mouth now you see it holds a dangling earring - one that looks to be of fine though gruesome quality - a silver chain with 2 sets of alternating pearls and moonstones, splashed in dried blood.

Durnir's face gets very red. Very flustered he say "No.. ARGH, Ivy! That is not what's happen'n. I mean, the ring thing is a bit odd, but seeing as how Adaban can't even keep his clothes straight, it makes sense why he want's someone else to watch it... No offense Adaban..... Hey, look, Walf has a bird! With a... is that a bloody necklace? "
Durnir, while only feigning interest at first to distract Ivy from this uncomfortable topic, is now actually interested in the necklace. He won't approach too close, worrying that he might spook the magpie. He will let Walf to handle the bird.
Davis is not trying to keep his words from being overheard. His attitude is helpful and welcoming, but with a touch of caution, which he has gained from years of being a mercenary.
"Seems good then." He says with a nod, giving the four strangers a glance and noticing one has moved over closer to them. He speaks to the group as a whole though. "We can bring you to somewhere you can stay for the night. It is close to where we are staying, so we can be around if you need anything further."
Walf attempts to take the jewelry from the bird while continuing to feed it bugs "Oh ho, there, there, little bird." Walf says in a calm voice
The magpie accepts the exchange for the bejeweled chain, snacking upon the crunchy bu(g)ffet availed to it.
The earring itself is of superior quality, glistening in the waning light of the setting sun. The moonstones dazzle with an iridescent allure, and the pearls are set with a pinkish hue. Blood is spattered across it, dried and cracked.
Durnir is off to the side watching Walf's exchange with the magpie, not wanting to get too close as to scare the animal. As Walf starts twittering at him, he will sigh and come to him.
Durnir says, half jokingly. "Damn it, Walf. If I told you once, I've told you a thousand times. I'm not a bird, you don't need to tweet at me! Yea, that ain't berry juice. Didn't out new friends say they were looking for a murderer? Could this be related?" He will look over to the trio to see if they are paying attention.
At Durnir’s correction, Ivy puts up her finger and looks back up to Khione, Davis and Eirlys. “Perhaps there’s some missing context, but those words were used in that order.” She’d shrug. “It was the Temple of Helm though!” She’d nod confidently.
Ivy’s ears would twitch and their attention would snap in Walf’s direction the moment he tweets. She pops up abruptly and skips over to Walf. Blue hues go wide with awe and wonder at what he would show her. A shiny earring! Ivy’s head would tilt when he’d inform them it wasn’t berry juice. Brows would knit and Ivy would lean in. She’d start to huff and sniff at the earring to see if she could pick up anything.

Walf pats the bird on the head and lets it finish its meal. He then tweets (Walf the OG twitter) like a magpie to get Ivy and Durn's attention.
(If they come to Walf)
"Walf feed Magpie who had this ear adornment in beak. Walf think this here (points to dry blood), not dry berry juice."

Walf clears his throat and tweets louder to get his friends attention (See above)
