Andnon stayed quiet for a few seconds as he thought about what Eglar had said. "But... but what if the person being written about was seen as a hero by most but the bard writing about them saw them more as a villain?" He replied with a slightly curious expression. Then he looked up at him with a raised brow when asked about how he'd become invisible.
"I became invisible with the help of a spell. I've learned some rather useful spells while working for Darkslayer although I don't know if speaking with animals or..." He trails off slightly as he thought back to the ring he'd given his friend.
There was a momentary silence as he glanced at Karrigg for a moment before patting himself down almost as if he was searching for something, only to let out a faint sigh when he couldn't find whatever it was that he was looking for. "Well if I could get my hands on a forked twig then I might be able to pinpoint the location of the ring as long as it is within 1000 feet of my current location. Although if someone stole it from him or he was further away than that it could be difficult..."
Nikolas didn't respond right away, trying to recall the last place he'd heard Lowclaw to be at. He took a deep breath and stopped at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for the others who might have fallen behind. "Last time I heard anything about Victor he was running with a group of bandits on the outskirts of the city, although he might be crawling around in the tunnels with the rats. If he talks without a fight I'd honestly be surprised but I believe in you, and after you get any information you can from him I'll leave it up to you what happens to him. Oh... the last time I had the key was about a week and a half ago, if someone had taken it they'd likely have taken whatever they had been looking for by now."
Andnon hesitantly walked over to Ludolf and took a seat before looking up at him with a somewhat confused expression. As he took the paper and quill from him his confusion increased and he looked at him with a raised brow.
"O-Okay, I'll do my best to write what you said but I apologize if it's slightly hard to read." He let out a soft sigh and began to write what had been asked. His handwriting is rather legible although his h's and n's look almost exactly the same and his uppercase D looks more like an O. "I hope this helps..."
Ludolf takes the writing sample and compares it to the letter that was written previously. He looks for similarities in style, penmanship, etc - looking carefully at the h's and n's, the O's and D's. He looks around and says "Are those journals here yet? Perhaps we should head to his room, eh? Andnon, I'm sure you will join us, yes?" He asks this in the form of a question, but it is more of a statement. He turns and looks at him with the helm on, with a deep smile that is vulpine.

Jilenyphe quickly turned back when she heard Ludolf mention the journals and walked back to him and Andnon before heading back to retrieve them. She let out a soft sigh as she carried the journals over and offered them to him with a soft sigh. "They were left on the table but I can understand if you hadn't spotted them, since our little intruder did unintentionally cause quite the scene." She said with a small hint of a smile, trying to keep the peace as best as she could.
Andnon looked up at him with a somewhat confused expression before slowly getting to his feet and taking a quick breath. He gently tapped his fingers against his trouser legs and glanced down at the floor realizing that he didn't have much of a choice in the matter. "You were serious about going into his room? Uhh, if you do end up reading his private journal while in there can... can you not tell Sir and Madam Stoneclaw about it? There are a few things that they might not approve of." As he spoke his tail began to wrap around his leg and he took a couple steps forwards. "I don't really have much of a choice, do I?"

Andnon hesitated for a moment before lifting his gaze from the floor and over towards Karrigg. "I was hired to look into a member of the ruling class of Espar, he was a close friend of my father's and he was rather open to the alliance between Espar and Cleica. He went missing two months ago and apparently the last time he was seen he was at a talk with the Lords of the surrounding countries alongside my father sort of like a bodyguard even though he didn't really have to."
"Well if a forked twig would help. Anyone have a divining rod?"
"If no one has one, perhaps you can find one in one of the shops in the city or maybe I can search in the garden for a forked twig...?" Stoneclaw said in a somewhat questioning manner.
Ludolf picks up each of the journals and at first rubs along the spine, examines the cover, wonders about what is held within. He gives each of the journals a good, long sniff. He flips the pages, sniffing further. Then he sits them down on the table and starts pouring through them, ignoring all of you for a moment. He is moving with considerable speed, a speed reader, but he looks to gather all that he can from the journals, seeking to connect any dots. He takes out his own book of notes and produces a quill magically summoned to his hand. He takes notes, of names, places and anything else helpful from the journals. (let me know if there is any roll you want).
After he is finished, he stands, taking stock of Andnon and Stoneclaw again and says "Shall we? Let's head to his room, hmm?"" When they get to his room, he will be using his helm to survey the thoughts of Andnon, seeing if he has any idea where his private journal would be, and his thoughts about Xavword and the room.

It wouldn't have been the first time that had happened but if that was the case then he would have turned up in the city in a day or two with some rather interesting stories about his accidental adventures." Andnon replied, scratching the back of his neck slightly. He chuckled softly as he thought back on one of those stories from one of his unintentional adventures.
He nodded ever so slightly before hesitantly sliding past him, into the room.
Ludolf finishes with the journals, gleaning what he can then he moves to Xavword’s room, begins searching.

At the front of the journals written in normal ink in draconic it reads: On the off chance that somebody finds this I must apologize for the 'blank pages' the ink on the other pages was given to me by my father and I didn't realize that it didn't show up during the day until I tried writing with it and nothing seemed to show up on the paper... at dusk the words begin to appear and at dawn it begins to fade.
While Ludolf began to search the room Andnon quietly watched him, somewhat curious as to what he was looking for. He didn't really say anything but raised a brow slightly. 'Is there something other than the private journal in here? Xavword what else could you have been hiding...?' He thought as he leaned against the wall.

{With a 29 Karrigg finds the silver dagger, two bottles of used ink, the empty bottle of fine wine underneath the bed as well as a 'scrap' of parchment that initially doesn't look important although upon closer inspection it looks to be something along the lines an invitation or something akin to that and a handheld mirror that appears to have been broken. On the bookshelf near the door there's the 'private' journal which upon closer inspection has something written on the cover in draconic (it roughly translates into 'Xavword's Adventures' and looks to have been written by a child some time ago.), the ornate silver ring and the music box. If he was to move the music box he would find a small bag with 10 gold and 25 silver, an unopened letter from Andnon and an empty vial. On the floor near the bookshelf there's scrap marks on the floor that would insinuate that there is a secret passage behind it. On the other side of the room on his desk there is a half empty bottle of wine, three books (one is a book of poetry, one is an 'epic' novel and the other one is a book of recipes), several sketches of birds and other animals, a candle that has yet to be used and a piece of glass that likely came from the broken mirror.}
{With a 14 Karrigg notices that when the broken mirror was found a confused expression crossed Stoneclaw's face before a sudden look of realization crossed his face. Andnon on the other hand seemed relatively calm for the most part although when the music box was moved a slightly disappointed expression when he spotted the letter.}
Not quite following everything that is going on, Flutter helps search (Help), asking, “Where else should we go to look for clues? Where was he last seen?”
Stoneclaw thought about Flutter's questions for a moment before finally answering him. "Other than the underground tunnels... maybe the Horse and the Hellhound Inn since he'd spent a decent amount of time there or the village of Sandcliff? If he managed to get there before disappearing then there is a chance that somebody there saw him and they might know something. Honestly... the last time he was seen to my knowledge was a week ago when he was heading out of the city."

Andnon nodded slightly when asked if he had been in the room before. "Yes, I've been in here a few times in the past. Sometimes we'd spend time up here talking about the most random of topics. Now that you mention it... I do recall him having to move the bookshelf to get to a room where he'd hide stuff that he found important so... maybe he hide it in there?"
{With a 13 Eglar notices that one of the books near the upper part of the bookshelf looks like it's sticking out a little, almost as if someone left it like that on purpose.}
Ludolf takes the silver dagger, the ornate ring and the music box. He turns his attention with his helm to focus on the thoughts of Andnon, and then on Stoneclaw when he sees the surprised look on his face. After that he starts to read through the private journal, and he casts ritually detect magic and focuses on the objects around the room. He is quite curious when Karrigg finds additional items.

Andnon's thoughts:
'That ring looks like the one I showed Xavword the sketch of while we were in Houndwood. How did he get his hands on it?'
' Maybe it's not actually the ring from the sketch and it's just one that looks extremely close to it.'
Nikolas' Thoughts:
'Why would he leave the dagger here? He knows better than to leave the house with at least some way to protect himself if needed.'
'Perhaps I should have given him something better, like a hand crossbow or a short sword instead... it's too late to worry about that now there are more pressing matters at hand.'
Upon casting detect magic only one item stands out to Ludolf; The silver dagger.
Karrigg spreads the items on the bed as he finds them. He will ask Nikolas to explain the mirror
When asked about the mirror Nikolas hesitates for a moment before taking a breath. "It was a gift from my wife. It 'disappeared' two years ago but I guess it's no longer missing now. But why hide it?"
Ludolf looks at the silver dagger with interest. He turns to Andnon and says "Why did you make a sketch of a ring? What is the significance of this ring? Tell me what you know..."
