The governor nods to Rockcrusher. "Thank you again for your assistance. We will await your return."
As you prepare to leave the keep, a young man walks up to you, limping heavily on his bandaged left leg. “I hear that you intend to follow the raiders and see where they’ve gone. I’d like nothing better than to come with you, but in this condition, I’d slow you down. In the midst of all this tragedy, there’s no reason you would have heard about the fate of my master, Leosin Erlanthar, but it’s important you know. He is a monk from Berdusk. He disappeared last night, after we fought a particularly savage battle against raiders. A few others and I fought our way to the keep, barely. Leosin didn’t make it at all. We went back this morning to look for him, but all we found was his broken staff and this choker, which he always wore.”
Dawn asks "Do you think that he might have been taken captive? Is it possible that the chocker has a link to him and might halps us track down these barbarous brigands"
"It's possible. He has been investigating these raiders for months. I fear that he might have tried to infiltrate their group when they retreated, or possibly was captured and carried away as a prisoner. No one understands these bandits better than he does, and his knowledge will be invaluable against them. When you find their camp, please look for any sign that Leosin is there. One of my brothers has already departed for Berdusk to bring back help, but it will be many days before help arrives. Anything you can do before then would be a godsend.”
He looks at the choker in his hands, pondering the rest of Dawn's question. "As far as I know, there's nothing magical about this, but you're welcome to take it with you if you think you can use it in any way to help."
Dawn takes the choker, and handing it over to Pops, asks "Do you think this might be magical, and would help us find Leosin if he is with that pack of dragon loving brigands?". He then turns to the monk and assures him that we will try to bring Erlanthar back.
Pops takes the choker and waves his hand now sandwiched by blue glowing disks filled with many different symbols. "Humph" he puffs. He says to Dawn, "Give me about ten minutes or so." Pops finds a clear and isolated section of the fort. He reaches into the weave and the disks around his hand return. He places his palm on the ground and the disks expand to a five foot radius. Pops begins to whisper general arcane mumbo jumbo while his hands move in strange and intricate patterns casting Detect Magic as a ritual.
The group heads out of town following the direction the raiders went. The path is easy to follow; a wide swath of grass is trampled down by the large number of creatures in the group. After following the trail for a couple hours, you spot smoke rising into the air in the distance ahead of you.
The governor shakes his head. "No, there was no warning until the dragon appeared in the skies and raiders flooded into the city."
Well I’d you don’t have any information we should go
