Drez chuckles a little at Arthur's description of the Gurmuid elves, "I mean... that pretty much sums up his description."
He smiles a little as the conversation shifts. He'd wondered why Rex was so fidgety...and well he got his answer. But...why would he be afraid of women? Drez shrugs, deciding not to question it as he finishes off his drink.
Corvus nods to Kirai. "While that sounds like a completely different subject of study, it may still be connected. Both have something to do with demons or something related." He doesn't comment on Rex's fidgeting. Downing the remainder of his water he stands up and pushes his chair back under the table. "I for one would like to get some rest." He looks over at the draconian barkeep. "How much for a room?"
”Personally, I’ve always found teasing to be good for building a friendship, as long as it doesn’t go too far of course.” He notices Rex’s fidgeting. “You seem to have a bit of a shake to you. I have one as well.” Kocino holds his hands out in front of him. They shake and tremor, seemingly making any fine work impossible.
Jess can peer that Rex is a rather awkward youth, perhaps rattled by the loss of his friend but he seems to have not let himself to process that loss. Though it seems social situations to be rather draining, it may seem odd to see an Adventurer that was also an introvert but Kocino and Jess could see just that an introverted adventurer. Rex had cast his gaze downward as Jess talked of the pressure his friends brought on him.
A-Arthur means well.. I-I just.. Well..
He wasn't sure how to respond to Jess's claim "nothing to fear from me" he wasn't sure how to explain his fear. It wasn't he had feared her striking the party he just.. Well it was a clear case of a boy unable to talk to someone of the opposite sex. The woman had looked to Corvus before responding to Corvus.
"One silver per room."
Arthur had smiled to Drez with a chuckle before looking to Jess and Rex.
"Yeah Rex she seems really nice so don't be so scared! How can you fight so good and than act like a mouse?"
"I-I.. I..."
Rex had squirmed a bit before pondering Kocino's hand and his shake. He had offered a weak smile before looking back down again.
OOC I think Rex's deception was 9 at first yes? Than turned to 14? Or am I wrong?
Jess seems to understand what Rex is going through. She gives him a platonic side-hug with one arm and tells him, "Rex, you've got nothing to worry about. Any ladies that want to meet you will be lucky indeed."
Then she will join the rest of the group with smalltalk (or not so smalltalk) until it's time to retire to a room at a reasonable hour. She will secure a room with the proprietor, if rooms are still available.
Corvus fishes a silver out of his bag. He's to drained to haggle, so he simply hands her the silver and nods his thanks. Once she gives him the key, he makes his way to his room. His gaze lingers on Merylin's door for a moment before he enters his own.
Locking the door behind him, Corvus undresses. He tosses his torn shirt onto the floor and dons a new one after checking his wound. Once finished he begins the ritual required to summon his familiar. After an hour, Corvus hears a tapping coming from the window. He opens it and the little black dragon flies into the room. It bears an irritated expression. Apparently it doesn't appreciate being killed. Ignoring Corvus, the dragon lands in the heap of dirty laundry at the foot of Corvus's bed, curls up in it then promptly starts snoring. Corvus frowns at it. How is it tired when it just came back to life? Shaking his head, the Aarakocra climbs into his own bed to get some much needed rest.
(If Rex's insight was a 6 to begin with then i didn't see it... also, are we taking a long rest or a short rest?)
Drezmir smiles, then thinks back to the fight with the dragon. Rex had gotten him back on his feet after that woman had blasted him with the fireball attack. A cheeky remark came to mind...but he decided that bringing up the battle to which Leonard had fallen would not be a good idea. Instead he quietly finishes off his drink. By the time that is finished, he grows very aware of the reopened hole in his shirt... He does his best not to think about why it was reopened, hoping that he is bloody enough to cover up the fact that there is no longer a wound there to explain the cut...though if questions sprang up he could always just explain that he'd been healed once by Arther and then had two potions fed to him while unconscious... maybe he'd leave off the last part. Either way, once it seems that the chatter is through, he too requests a room.
"I don't know about the rest of you...but I think I'm going to retire as well," He sighs, returning his cup to the barkeep. "It's been a long day." Pushing in his chair, he turns to the stairwell, "I'll see you all tomorrow then." Turning, he gives his companions (whomever has not yet retired) a last look, growing a little sad that Arthur and his group will not be accompanying them to the capitol. Well, destiny calls to everyone. Perhaps their paths will cross again...no, not perhaps. They will cross again, he is sure of it. He smiles, realizing that this isn't even goodby yet. Shaking his head, he fingers the sending stone in the pouch at his waist as he heads up the stairs and to his room.
Kocino pats Rex on the back. “You are who you are, just be comfortable with it. Thank you for your help today.” Stretching as he gets up from his seat, Kocino turns to the group. “I’m beat. Goodnight everyone.” Kocino gives the woman one silver and heads to his room.
Rex had jolted as Jess placed a side arm upon him, her comment about ladies being happy to meet him. He tilted his head a bit confused before allowing the bangs of his white hair cover his face his cheeks horribly flushed. Though her intent was kind he couldn't help but feel even more embarrassed than before.
"W-What..? I-I..."
He had only let his sentence trail off yet again as he let out a weak sigh. He had looked to Kocino with a brief glance before nodding weakly. Arthur had laughed loudly. A bit of joy brought back to the usually cheery knight.
"Haha! They are right Rex you are who you are! Anyone is lucky to meet you!"
"I.. I feel like a child when you tell me this A-Arthur.."
"Oh don't be that way! Hehe.."
With a light grin he had wiped under his nose with his index finger before looking around with a loud yawn.
"Yeah I think it's time we get to bed, and don't worry I'll pay for you're rooms! I mean.. You are my friends right? It's the least I can do!"
OOC For those that accept Arthur's offer they will not have to pay ^~^
And for everyone's next post feel free to timeskip to the morning ^~^
The Barmaid will be downstairs and Kirai's group will be outside ready to leave
Jess comes down the next morning refreshed and ready to head on to the capital at last. She smiles vaguely while others congregate but generally refrains from conversation, just waiting to get going.
(Since Corvus left before Arthur's offer, he's already paid)
Corvus awakes the next morning relatively refreshed. He has to shoo the psudodragon off his cloths before picking them up and putting them in his pack. Once he's cleaned up his room, the dragon perches on his shoulder and he makes his way back to the dining area. Like Jess, he is in no mood for idle talk, he's never been closer to his goal than he was the previous day. Dwelling here only increases the likelihood that this lead will either slip from his talons or be cut before he can reach the end.
Drez smiles at Arthur, "Who am I to refuse such an offer?" He nods, accepting the knights request to let him pay for their rooms. "Besides, a noble like you should have money to spare right?" He says, shaking his finger a little to emphasize that he is joking.
The next morning, he feels much better. He'd sewed up his gambeson as best he could...which still made for an ugly stitch down the back of his light armor, but it was better then a gaping hole. He made his way down the stairs quickly to meet his companions.
"Well, I take it you will be heading to Glazing winds now?" he asks Arthur. "Or do you have business to attend to here first?"
The night before Arthur had chuckled shaking his head lightly to Drezmir's jest.
"Haha! I'm afraid to say I gotta make my own money haha"
The next day had come as Arthur,Kirai,Merlyn,Rex all waited for the others to say farewell. Kirai looked anxious to head out just as Jess and Corvus but Arthur was more than willing to say goodbye to Drezmir. Walking forward as Drezmir asked his question.
"I think we'll be heading straight to Glazing Winds to figure out what we can. Kirai is eager to head out I gotta say took a lot to convince him to wait up for a farewell!"
Merlyn had walked up to Corvus with a soft but rather tired smile.
"Thank you.. For traveling with us and though we faced a cruel hardship. I was glad to fight beside you."
When Merlyn approaches Corvus he replies, "It was an honor to fight alongside you." Inclining his head in a stiff bow he continues, "I have little doubt that our paths will cross again."
Kirai had looked back to Merlyn with a side glance, she had returned his glance with a bit of contempt before turning back to Corvus with a gentle smile. Straightening her backpack on her shoulders.
"It was an honor truly, I am grateful for the company Corvus. You seem rough but you're goal is a noble one.. Well to me it is. We have to do what we can to stop that thing yes? See you all soon!"
Rex had waved at Kocino,Jess,Drezmir a bit before looking away again. Arthur had chuckled offering the entire group a wave.
"Good luck guys! Gilded keep em safe yeah big guy? Drezmir I wish you luck on the path you walk. You've all been rather kind to us and I wish everybody here safe travels. Sy keep on playing and don't lose heart on the road. Kocino hopefully we can talk a bit more next time yes? I know you're friend Amon is still down but.. Hope he feels better soon!"
The group had begun to head down the mountain! Ready to continue back to the capital after all of their farewells. The group determined and perhaps a bit stronger in resolve than before. Though as they had begun to head down they could see a larger man with elven ears. Despite his lean muscular form and lack of any armor to speak of he had deftly wielded a rapier by his side. He had appeared to be finishing a fight with two mountain brigands... Knocking them both unconscious with a show of swift swordplay.
"Well I'm glad he decided to wait," Drez says warmly, giving Kirai a nod as he speaks. "It's been an honor fighting alongside you. If you can get access to Gwen's sending stone, feel free to give us a call. I may try to contact her later today if time allows, so perhaps you will be there by then."
As they prepare to leave, Drez returns Rex's wave. Part of him wishes that he'd taken the time to speak to the young man. Perhaps he will do so when they meet again. He waves back to Arthur as well, "Luck be with you as well! I am glad to count you all as allies, and look forward to the day our paths cross once more."
Drezmir eyes the elf, noting how he knocked out both of the brigands without much trouble. Shrugging, he decides to wave at the fellow. "Hello. Nice swordsmanship!" He nods to the two unconscious men, "If they ambushed you...well they definitely regret it now. What brings you out here?"
Corvus offers Merlyn a small smile, however it is not reflected in his avian eyes. Instead they grow distant, holding a glint of sadness. Noble? How can she say that? There is nothing noble about his goal. Revenge is not a noble task. Nevertheless, it is the only thing that will bring him satisfaction. Without that goal, he would have no purpose in living. Forcing his gaze to refocus on the woman before him he replies, “Thank you. I’m glad be share the same view on the matter. Farewell now Merlyn. Safe journey to Glazing winds.”
His smile fades immediately after turning away from Merlyn, returning to his usual scowl, which deepens at the mention of Amon. If the get out of here fast enough, perhaps the pesky fly will be left behind.
Upon seeing yet another stranger in their path, Corvus’s gaze quickly scans both the cloths of the man and those of the thugs to make sure none of them bear the crest of the red daggers.
“Sure thing, Arthur. I’ll pay you back somehow, but I have no money for the moment. You have my word.” Sy then slings his bagpipes over his shoulder and offers Arthur a handshake.

She smiles at Rex, trying to present herself as friendly and unassuming.
“Perhaps your friends have put too much pressure on you, Rex. I assure you, there is nothing to fear from me.”
Drez chuckles a little at Arthur's description of the Gurmuid elves, "I mean... that pretty much sums up his description."
