After hearing a few words of the others speaking, Juzi grows bored and begins to try to inconspicuously (Stealth 10) search the area for anything of interest (Investigation 19). Shiny things were always the best things, but he never knew what he might find.
OOC
Juzi has a -1 investigation. I chock this up to the fact that he doesn't really know what is and isn't valuable to other people. XD
"Humble again aren't we? Ahh, Arthur was eager to fight a dragon huh? A typical knight's dream I suppose. A contest? Heh.. I'd take you up on it but I doubt I'll have it learned anytime soon!"
"Arthur can make friends with anyone huh? Even with.. the "Cold beauty" oh yeah.. They shared that tale with me. I swear.. You refuse a few noblemen and the world thinks you hate all men. Kirai seems to avoid.. a lot of women though his way of doing so appears different from Rex's. A bit of disdain in his eyes, I'm not exactly sure why that is the case. I'm surprised Rex helped you he seems so shy! However Kirai is fine, heh.. I hope you find luck when meeting the next caster on you're journey!"
She takes a deep breath as Drezmir talks of Simon.
"Yeah.. Did that snowflake mark help you? If he truly wishes to help.. I think I'll let him come with us. To the forest, ..Maybe I might think on it a bit longer but thank you for the advice."
Corvus
Corvus had approached the guards, they seemed rather on guard but he had talked of aiding Glazing Winds. The guards were sedated by his persuasive tongue but confused by his words.
"Glazing winds was in trouble? You got any proof! Like a medal or some fancy paper or something? Can't let anyone in the capital unless they have business here! Merchants,Knights,Guild members that sorta thing!"
The guards had looked to Corvus and than to Jess rather confused still by the statement.
Kocino
Gwen had exclaimed softly but rather happily upon hearing Kocino.
"It is wonderful to hear from you, I was wondering if only Drezmir wanted to speak with me haha. Approaching the capital? Be careful they are on high alert due to tensions with Germuid. Though Arthur and Kirai told me.. A dragon with an army threatens the borders. If you present you're pedigree as a knight I'm sure it will gain you access. As for me.. I require nothing but I probably should let you go. So that you may get to work at the capital."
Juzi
He didn't appear rather.. Stealthy as the guards eyed him carefully but his investigation had bore fruit. Well sort of, there was a merchants wagon a man waiting in front. He appeared to be waiting for permission to enter the city and in his wagon? There yonder was a glint of gold!
OOC Everyone had a long rest yesterday after the dragon fight so everyone is good on that front ^~^
Corvus raises an eyebrow. Well it seems like the news didn't travel as fast as he had thought. How did Arthur's group find out about it? Or the enemy for that matter? The bird-man sighs then looks back at the group huddled around the sending stone, then back at the guards. "Just give me one moment. Two of my companions are Knights of Glazing winds." Turning, he walks back up to the group. "Drezmir. Gilded. You are going to have to show the guards your those documents stating that you two are Knights. Otherwise we aren't going to be able to enter the town peacefully."
"Well, I doubt I'll have mine mastered all that quickly either. So I think we've got a fair contest after all." He laughs a little at the mention of 'Cold Beauty', "Oh, that's where that came from. I was so confused when he brought that up. He was really adamant about me answering all his questions about you..." He trails off before saying, "Heh, I guess he got his answers then. I'm not sure he believed me when I told him you never seemed cold at all." He pauses, "Kirai...hmm. I wonder if it has anything to do with that woman I mentioned. He didn't share anything about his quarrel with her really, but I can tell that whatever she did to him...well it's given him reason to hunt her. Oh..." He chuckles, "Thanks."
He goes a little quiet at the mention of the snowflake mark, but quickly starts talking again when he remembers that Gwen won't be able to see his hesitance, "Oh, yes. It's helped a couple times. I...um. Well I'll have to talk to you a little more about it in private... Not that its anything bad! Nothing like that... I just, well..."He sighs, "Lets just save that conversation for later okay?" He feels a little guilty for saying this in front of everyone else, realizing that they have absolutely no clue about what is going on. He hadn't exactly told anyone where he'd gotten the mark from, though perhaps it was obvious since the black band had disappeared after his conversation with Simon. Perhaps he will tell them later...if someone asks about it. For now its a private matter.
He gives a surprised jump when Kocino puts his arm over his shoulder--just his usual reaction when coming into physical contact with anyone. But his surprise quickly fades away and he gives the warlock a quick smile before returning to the conversation with Gwen. Kocino's gesture of friendship made him feel a little worse about keeping secrets.
When Corvus comes up only to say the same thing they'd just learned from Gwen, he gives a laugh, "Oh, alright. Gwen just said something similar. We'll be there in a moment."He looks back to the speaking stone, "Well, alright then. It was really good hearing from you! We'll keep you posted on what we learn here."
Juzi's eyes went wide at the glint of gold. Seeing the seller-man standing about guarding his treasures, Juzi's hesitated. Juzi had tried in the past to interact with the noisy people as he had with the other creatures out in the wild. This had never gone well. Claiming one thing for his own from one of the noisy people always ended up with more and more noisy people coming and making a lot more noise until he would need to leave whatever place he'd entered. This had happened enough times now that he knew he had to try something different.
Oh, he had given this some thought. Sheila had helped him understand basically that if one person wants a treasure from another person, then that person should offer some of their own treasure as a trade. It was all nonsense to Juzi, but he knew he had to try more big. What he needed though was to wear clothing like these people did. If he looked more like these noisy people, and tried to follow the things Sheila had taught him, maybe he could finally find his family.
Somewhat awkwardly, Juzi stood up straight in his best impression of how he saw the noisy people standing. He approached the merchant he had been eying. "Oi, seller-man," He said with a smirk as he stiffly moved toward the man, "You have treasure Juzi trade for?"
Corvus notes Juzi walking over to the merchant but ignores him. After all, if the fool gets arrested for theft, then he won't have to listen to him any more. Turning back to the guards he mutters to no one in particular, "Well, let's hurry up and get through this bloody gate." He continues to ignore Juzi as he walks back to the guards, hopefully accompanied by Drezmir.
"Yes, let's get through this bloody gate." Amon repeats, but this time, with conviction and the best grumpy bird accent he can muster. "As soon as those two lovebirds hang up." He then proceeds to make little mouths out of his hands, mouthing semi-silently to himself, "You hang up, no you hang up! No, you hang up!"
Syktyvkyr sighs and says “Let’s get this over with.” He is keeping an eye on everyone, seeing how strange Juzi acts. He knows the others can handle him, so he doesn’t need to intervene.
“Goodbye Gwen. Take care.” Kocino heads to the gate with Corvus. “If it’s proof you need, I hope that the word of two Knights of Glazing Winds will suffice?” Kocino motions for Drez and Gilded to speak up.
Drez shoots Corvus an irritated glance, and Amon a rather confused one... His face turns a little red and he quickly looks back at the speaking stone, "Uh... well, bye then. We'll...talk again soon." He hesitates a moment, hoping that Gwen 'hangs up' first since he isn't entirely sure he knows how to. After he hears her farewell, and a few moments of silence go by indicating that the stone is no longer in use, he puts it back into his pouch and walks with Kocino over to the gate.
When Kocino motions for him to speak up, Drezmir fumbles a little trying to get his pedigree out. "Oh, yes. Here..." He holds it out so that the guards can see, rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand as a sense of awkwardness sets in. "My friend Gilded and I were knighted just recently." He hopes that it wasn't a mistake to say that, but at the same time he feels its pretty obvious that he's had absolutely no training as a knight...not to mention his distinct Romalian accent.
Gwen had a small exclamation of confusion when Drezmir had talked of Arthur having many questions about her. In the meanwhile the guards had looked at Corvus and than behind to his allies.
I'm glad you did find me to be cold "sir" Drezmir heh. As for Kirai I get a feeling he carries a guarded persona. Unlike Arthur who appears to be rather open. It's easier to work with those more open with you after all.
Though he can't see her, it was easy to imagine a warm smile behind the words she had spoke next.
"Sure! I can talk with you in private, no problem at all. I wish you luck with the capital and on you're journey. I will keep you posted from what we learn here as well."
"Trading"
The "sellerman" in front of the guards awaiting to be told he could enter the town he looks to the large elf with a curious tilt of his head.
"Treasure? Seller man? Ahh the name good sir is Augustus! My you are rather large aren't you? Treasure to trade for? I see.. If you wish to barter good sir than let me know what you have to offer! Such an elegant blade you have for such a muscled form. Intriguing.. Perhaps we can make an agreement. How are you with pest?"
Kocino's blade had begun to sputter into a laughter from Amon's teasing of Drezmir. "Pftttt hahahaha!"
The guards had looked at one another looking back at the pedigree before nodding at one another. The merchant had looked had looked with a slight huff of disbelief. As the guards began to open the doors for the party however not for the merchant Augustus.
Gwen had given her farewells to Drezmir and Kocino both.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Drezmir, feeling a little giddy but also extremely awkward after speaking with Gwen stands silently as the guards inspect his pedigree. After a while, he does his best to brush off those feelings, which may or may not have been the result of Amon's teasing and the laughter from Kocino's blade. He's never cared what anyone thinks before, so why start now?
Realizing that the guards don't seem willing to let the merchant in, Drez gives them a curious look. There isn't much he can say now that he knows the reasoning behind keeping a watch on the gate...but it does make him feel a little bad since the merchant was here first. He gives Augustus an apologetic glance before turning back to the guards.
Then an idea comes to him... He thanks the guards and then walks over to Augustus. In a low voice he says, "I'm sorry if we delayed your entrance. I...well I heard that tensions are high here and that my group might only be able to gain access due to..." He pushes the pedigree back into his pouch, "Well a couple of us were recently knighted. Anyways, I hope they let you in, but if they don't perhaps you could take your wares to Glazing Winds instead? I'm sure the people there would be thrilled to have a trader come through, especially since they haven't had good trade in a while."
As he speaks to the merchant he also searches for any reason the guards might see to not let him in... does he look like he came from Germuid? Or is there any thing immediately suspicious about him? Drez isn't really expecting to find anything, and if he doesn't he's planning on maybe saying something to the guards since he feels a little bad for essentially cutting in front of this fellow.
Insight: 4
(OOC: From what I remember, Glazing Winds was trying to establish trade with the outside world right? But Simon was keeping that from happening by using the goblins, Jet brothers, and the giants. Sorry, I hope I'm remembering this right lol. Drez is thinking that if this trader can't gain access then maybe he can help out Glazing winds instead. That way its a win win for both of them since he can still do business and it might help start something in Glazing Winds.)
Ignoring Amon's mimicry, Corvus immediately walks through the gates when the guards step back. However, noticing that the others are hesitating to follow, he looks back. Why are they all looking at the merchant? It's not their problem if the fellow can't get through the gate. As he waits for his companions, he observes the merchant, his wares, and his rig. Was there any reason the guards weren't letting him in?
At the word "pest," a wave of memories washed over Juzi. Countless times had he heard that word shouted at him. Even before Sheila had begun to hastily teach him common, he had picked out that word and understood that it was he, himself, that the word described. He had thought that he had started to understand what he might do to not be called this word, but he must have been wrong. Here he was, trying to not to be pest, and this sellerman already called him such!
"No, no Gud Sir Gust! Juzi no pest,"Juzi half-muttered seemingly mildly affronted. "You trade plez clohding so Juzi nobepest,"and after a moment, "Plezz-zuh." He finished with a nod; proud of his performance. Unconsciously he clutched his rapier protectively and spoke as a teacher slightly berating her pupil might, "No trade pokey to Gud Sir Gust, no, no, no. Juzi have shiny coin just like udders."With this, Juzi reached into something like a pocket sewn into the back of his shield from where he extracted a small leather pouch that chinked when he bounced it upon his open, and up-turned palm. His smile as bright as the sun, he asks, "You have people clohding trade Juzi?
"There we go, good job, you old bird." Amon hop-flies through the gate by Corvus' side. "It may be in your favor to let us pass," the fly-winged fairy imitates. "Now, Corvus, don't you sound professional! I almost thought you were just going to grumpily blast your way through the gates with one of those new red energy bean things you seem to be able to produce now! Well done." He claps him on the back in a congratulatory way. "But you kept your cool and here we are."

Feathers raised and quivering slightly, Corvus fixes Amon in a red gaze. "Touch me again, and you will be in the market for a new arm." He growls.
