(Calculated the coins and added them to Corvus's sheet)
Corvus pockets the gold then watches with mild amusement as Juzi first hand Drezmir some furs, then start attempting a conversation with Jess. Putting his coin pouch away, he moves a short distance away from the merchant as to let Drezmir and Kocino finish their business with him.
"Do you want to split the cost?" Drez asks Kocino when the warlock inquires about the sending stones. "I think the stones would benefit everyone, so I'm willing to pay if you are."
(OOC: I have the same question. We are paying half of 500 gp right?)
“I understand. I can help you. But first, you can help me. It’s nice that you sit down in front of me, I understand that you are showing me respect and I thank you, but now that we are in a big city you mustn’t do it. You must stand at my side instead. Do not fret, you and I will still know of your politeness and respect. If ever you want to remind me that this is a secret between us, you can wink at me.”
“Now, let’s find that shop and get you some clothes. Then we will track down your father and mother. Do you know their names? That would help immensely.”
For Jess remembering the phrase would come rather easy! It wouldn't be long (for when she decides to) to help him gain a dressed up sense of attire. Not exactly fighting attire.. But Juzi hadn't needed the armor to defend himself on the battlefield hadn't he?
OOC If you use you're one time coupon you can pay 250GP instead of 500GP yes ^^
I don't wanna rush the shopping scene but if you are all done and know where you want to go just let me know and I can post the next scene! ^^
But if it's a RP/Shop moment take you're time too!
(Corvus is finished now. He's just watching Jess and Juzi while hoping this pest problem get's forgotten about... Which I doubt it will lol but he wants to get on with his objective.)
(OOC: I just realize that I missed Juzi handing Drez the fur lol. So I'll RP that real quick. After that, Drez still will ask Kocino if he wants to go in together to buy the sending stones as he considers them an asset for their team and doesn't want his friend to spend his own money on something that everyone can benefit from. After that, he's ready to move on.)
Drezmir is surprised when Juzi hands him the furs, "Oh... uh, thanks Juzi. Are you sure you want to give these to me?" He feels rather bad taking the furs from Juzi when, well, it isn't as if he needs the extra money. "Kocino and I can help each other pay for the sending stones. Don't you need some money to buy some clothing?"
Assuming the elf insists, Drez will turn to Augustus and ask, "How much will you take for these? I'll put that cost towards buying those sending stones, assuming my friend here wants to split the cost." He gives Kocino a smile that indicates that he insists on helping with the price.
If Juzi takes the furs back, then Drezmir will still use his own money to help pay for the sending stones.
Jess's words washed over and through the elf. He may have looked to a casual observer as though he hadn't heard a single word that had just been spoken, but it couldn't have been further from the truth. This was so big! Here Juzi found himself inside the walls of a sit-tee, and still no one had chased him off or even scolded him. He felt the warmth of Jess's explanation and instruction wrapped in kindness lift him up internally just as his posture lifted up as he rose to his feet. For a moment, Juzi stood as confident and practiced as though he had been doing so all of his life.
Taking a deep breath and then letting it out evenly, Juzi looked away briefly to his shield on the ground before stooping to pick it up. As he rose, he stepped and pivoted to stand next to Jess. He pulled back a flap of thin leather and began to pick through one of a number of small pockets somehow sewn to the back of the shield (Perception check if DM allows). With two fingers, he carefully extracts a thin, but sturdy looking, silver chain. With a delicate tug, the rest of the chain popped out with what looks like an extremely detailed carving of a female elf. It must have been made with magic to capture such individually precise features. Turning it around on one open palm with the fingers of his other hand, it could be seen that on the other side of the pendant had been somehow melted to now be somewhat smooth. It would appear that there had once been a similar looking image of another person's visage in place of the lumpy metal now presented.
Offering the necklace to Jess cautiously he says, "Dis muhdder. Dis all Juzi have." He clenched his eyelids shut and turned his head away for a moment. Looking back somewhat pained and frustrated, Juzi said again, "All Juzi have. Juzi always be juss Juzi. No udders. Juzi muhdder somewere; Juzi Muhdder know Juzi!"
Suddenly, something struck Juzi. Looking through the offered necklace to focus on Jess his eyes went wide. He must not have really been paying attention before, but now that he had gotten to the same level with her and much closer. Fixated and transfixed on her hair, he said, "Water! You...Water!? So shiny! So big shiny!"
Sy stares at his bagpipes, and the mysterious being within them stares back. They are severely confused at the situation, and are just following the party. Sy hasn’t been paying attention and is just following.
Jess studies the pendant closely. Inside she thinks, Like trying to find a specific pebble on the ocean floor.
But outwardly she smiles and says, "What a lovely rendition! I'm sure this can help."
When Juzi notices her wet appearance, Jess smiles again and says, "I do like water. Do you know how to swim, Juzi?"
When the others are discussing plans, Jess agrees that they should find an inn to stay at and regroup at the end of the day, and then they can take their various pursuits.
Perhaps sending stones were a wise move as the party may have desired splitting up! Kocino and Drezmir are able to purchase the sending stones using a one time coupon to make them 250GP! With splitting the cost both only pay 125GP!
With Gilded set on his journey, Juzi and Jess coming to an understanding. Augustus had wanted his pest problem removed but he would not push the adventurer's if they indeed had other plans. Mostly the reluctant grumpy bird man had made him nervous..
With that the party is able to head to the nearest tavern! Sy seems quieter than even usual hadn't he? Kocino's blade for the moment had remained quiet in the big city.
Heading now to the Shining Guild! Which had doubled as a tavern and.. Quiet the extravagant tavern it was! Adventurer's were leaving one massive room in the back that lead to almost another building while holding strange boards with runes upon them?
Whispering can be heard in the crowd, and the bartender himself appears to have white armor a large shield and a longsword. He seemed to have soft feathery brown air and a soft air. For being so well armed he seemed to have been serving the drinks as well? Adventurer's were talking to him about "Guild rank" and "Quest" as well as simple tavern things such as an inn to stay in. Beside the tavern bar was a large board, much larger than the board in Glazing Winds but all of the quest.. Had required meeting someone named "Flynn Shootingstar" and showing their guild medals to prove they could handle such a task?
Sy has been silent for a while, yet he listens to the conversations around him carefully, trying to obtain interesting information about people, just like he did before with Vex. He senses the fiend in his bagpipes harnessing power, but he thinks not of it.
(Foreshadowing for something, not telling you guys what.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Drez hands over his half of the coin he says, "We have some things to take care of at the moment, but we will likely return to see what we can do about your pest problem." He gives a smile and a wave before heading off to the tavern with his comrades.
Perception check: 9 (With advantage for hearing)
Turning to his companions he says, "Once we get rooms settled in an inn, then we can see about splitting up. ...Would any of you be willing to see about setting up a meeting with the Vintsvents?" He pauses, "And like Jess said earlier, it would probably be best if no one went alone. More then likely everyone will be fine, but in the event that someone does run into trouble, it would be in everyone's best interest to have backup ready to step in and help."
Corvus is relieved that the party seems to be moving on rather than dealing with someone else's problems. He has little doubt that his party of do-gooders will likely return to the merchant at some point, especially now that Drezmir and Kocino had taken advantage of the man's discount, but he is glad to have put it off nonetheless. One the party finds a place to stay/regroup if they split up, he plans to make his way to the Vintsvent estate to request a meeting whether the entire company follows him or not.
When they enter the tavern, the bird man's frown deepens when he looks around. What is going on here? Hopefully this extravagant place doesn't ask an arm and a leg in order to stay here. With the amount of whispering going on in this place, Corvus sends Crow out to eavesdrop. The little dragon flaps his wings and starts flying circles around the room.
Jess looks upon these runes (arcana check) and this people seem to be laughing and waving their boards about.
"Dude that was a hell of a wave!"
"Pfft nah man yours was better!"
For those unaware of Radiant city this would have been a strange dialect certainly different from Glazing Winds. However, those from Germuid may have heard some youths speak in such an ever changing manner.
Sy is able to hear much whispering, he hears talk of a hidden "Red Light District" downtown lead by a romalian woman. Kocino is also to hear this but Drezmir himself is only able to barely catch these whispers himself. There is also talk of the Vintsvent family.
"Psst, did ya hear?"
"Yes Maximillus is dead, that leaves us only one heir."
"Huh? You mean the kid with the weird alias? He doesn't even appear for public speakings! Rumor has it he can't even make simple eye contact.."
"And that.. Is to be our king one day? They plan to hold the coronation soon.. Whole thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth."
Corvus can't hear this much but there is something him and the others (Who rolled perception 15 or higher) do notice.. A few men in the corner of the tavern. Men or women.. It was hard to tell as they were long brown cloaks to hide themselves. It seemed strange but many travelers had hid their identities as many people have a past they wish to avoid. Except the problem here was the slight tilt of their heads giving them away.. To staring at the party.
The bartender in white armor had seen the party approaching as he offered a grin and a hearty laugh. Closer now one could see he looked like a pretty noble, one that may have put even Robin to shame. Though many may have seen this as a man to soft to be wearing the equipment that he was.
"Ahh can I get you all something to drink? Do you need a room? A job? If you're gonna ask me questions like other tourist just know I charge for my time. Still, the Shining Guild is always happy to have new comers!"
OOC I forget but does Corvus's dragon, crow understand common?
(Yeah pseudodragons can understand common and draconic)
Corvus does not look directly at the party, rather he watches them with a sideways glare as to avoid letting them know that he knows they are watching them. After a few moments he completely stops looking at them and turns his back on them, while telepathically instructing Crow to watch them. Unable to make out much of the whispers, those people are his primary concern. Now he just needs to find out who they work for.
When the bartender greets them, Corvus is not surprised to hear the name of Arthur's group mentioned. The aarakocra would definitely not pay this man for his time, but he holds his tongue and waits for the man to answer Jess's questions.
