Ashton is happy to let Carina buy him a drink. He will sit at the bar with the Glassblades for a moment. "How long have you guys been in the service of the Glassblades."
Not really looking for answers, just chatting. He pulls out the pipe that he loaded at Elros and strolls over to the gnome, trying to catch him before he gets gone to ask for a light.
"Excuse me sir, would it be possible to get a light? Very interesting pipe you have there. Just got this one myself, came across it just today as a matter of fact. First time smoking it actually. Not generally my thing you understand, but it does look very relaxing."
The two dwarves that are with the gnome make a move to interrupt Ashton but the gnome gestures them to stay back.
"This man is only asking for some light! Please calm down a bit my friends!"The gnome says as he reaches into his pocket and produces a small brass figurine of a small dragon. He touches the dragon on the back and a flame emerges from his snout. As Ashton hand the gnome the pipe to light it the gnome shakes his head in a friendly manner.
"No! No! Put it in you mouth and bow down to me, please."
Ashton does as the gnome tells him and bowing down to him, the gnome holds the dragon onto the pipe.
"Now suck in the air a bit through the pipe... perfect! See? That's how you light it."
He puts back the dragon in his pocket and tells him:
"Do not inhale the smoke. Just taste it in your mouth and then try to blow it out. For me it is more about the taste than about ..."
At this point the gnome stops as Ashton does as he is told, but the pipe produces a perfectly shaped green smoke skull in that moment. Asthon is as surprised as everyone else and slowly takes out the pipe from his mouth and looks at it in disbelief.
"May... may I have a look?" The gnome asks Ashton.
The gnome takes the pipe and looks it up and down. Then he takes a small metallic rod from his pockets that is covered in strange symbols and has some crystals attached at the top. As he holds it near the pipe a blue crystal starts to shine and a yellow one shimmers dimly.
"Interesting!" He says. "This pipe has a strong aura of illusion magic and a bit of conjuration..."
He puts the gadget back in his pocket and walks you all over to an empty table at the side of the taproom. He knocks out the smoldering tobacco from the pipe and then puts the empty pipe to his lips to use it. Again, a smoky image of a green humanoid skull appears over the pipe and then vanishes away together with the illusory smoke as it spreads into the room.
"Ha! My friend, I think this is completely harmless. It seems like this pipe has some simple entertaining illusion magic woven into its fabric. Nothing to worry about."
He pads Ashton on the arm, as he cannot reach his shoulder and hands him back the pipe.
"Nonetheless a nice piece of art, I'd say. Keep an eye on it"
And with this he and the two dwarves, that simply shake their heads, walk up the stairs again.
"Well my comrades. I'll meet you up here in the morning. I'll be at the Temple of Corellon." I say as I see the dwarves head up the stairs. "Please don't get into trouble." I smile and I pat each of them on the back. "It's great meeting each of you."
As Carina winds down her harmonica play, she murmurs appreciatively to Pandora. "Your dancing is lovely."
She is a bit surprised to see the 95 copper pieces that have made their way in her direction and immediately hands them over to Arl Bartock to act as a tab for the group's drinks (including the round for the glassblades), with the rest to be kept by Arl as tip. She gazes at the black harmonica for a long moment. Death and beauty in equal measure. It has always been my words that I have leaned on, never my music. Until now...
Bidding goodnight to Xerim and smiling at the half-elven children, Carina makes her way over to the young red-haired gnome woman who had come downstairs to enjoy the music and dance. Using her eyes to ask permission to join her, she sits opposite and takes a small sip of her wine.
"I am Carina Ravenscale. An outlander," she admits with a rueful look, "but it warms my heart to know we have the capacity to stir the souls of people in this icy realm. May I know your name? Was that your grandfather or great-uncle who was speaking with the dwarves? A wise gnome, judging by his words. He seems to know his way around magic items to speak with such confidence about my companion's pipe and its properties."
She gazes at the young gnome over her wine. Eyes friendly but unblinking.
The gnome woman vividly gestures Carina to sit down and giggles at the remark, that the other gnome might be her grandfather.
"It is nice to meet you miss Ravenscale and your music is lovely! Do you happen to be a bard? My name is Orla Tinkertop and that was my father Zinkkart Tinkertop. I do admit he looks pretty old." She says smilingly.
With a kind of proud voice she adds: "And yes, he knows his ways around magic items and so do I. It is kind of a family tradition with the Tinkertops. We are all skilled alchemists, tinkerers and artificers and it is hard to find one of our clan that is not in some ways connected to a royal court, a king, a queen or the likes. Usually because we build machines or brew potions for them."
She looks at Ashton again and playfully asks Carina: "The pipe of your companion is indeed remarkable. Where did he get it from?"

Orla takes the pipe and thanks Ashton. She then reaches in one of her pockets an takes out an odd looking, bulky monocle with multiple smaller lenses in front of the big one. She holds it close to her eye and watches the pipe that she holds up in her other hand. While she is switching through some of the lenses, you see her eye getting comically small and then again huge through the glass, from your side, while she murmurs something. She turns the pipe and watches it from all angles before reaching into her pocket again and taking out a small leather case, that she rolls out. It contains all kinds of tiny and fragile looking tools. She picks one of it, that is looking like some fancy pincers, and then examines the inner part of the mouth piece of the pipe. Then suddenly she smiles and says:
"Aha! There it is!"
She packs away all her stuff in her pockets again and hands the pipe back to Ashton.
"The mouth piece of the pipe contains a small energy crystal. The illusion spell is stored inside this crystal, that reacts if you put the pipe into your mouth. A really nice piece of work. Completely harmless, but it makes for a nice effect."
She looks into your faces, that clearly express, that what she has just done was NOT ordinary.

"Wow, you are very handy, Could I get you to check something else for me:?"
Ashton pulls out the dagger that he had gotten earlier (the magic one) and hands it to her as well. What do you think of this? "We are fairly certain it is safe, but may have some magic quality."
Ashton thinks as he hands her the dagger.
"Would you be willing to check other items we may find find, we think there may be an item with a curse causing the illness that has befallen this town?"
"It may be bold to ask, but would you have anything that may help us in our quest?"
What a nice evening. Hadn't danced a for a long time. I'm glad the people here liked it, it felt so good.
"Oh don't let me forget to pay my room Arl! Here is your silver and thanks for the room. In which direction i will find it?" says Pandora satisfied. She turns around, leans against the bar and is nipping on her mug of spicy delicious wine. Watching people is one of her favorite hobbies.
She observes the gnome examine Ashton's pipe. The green human looking skull looks terrifying. Why would people use this?
Her eyes follows the gnome and the dwarfs while they were going upstairs. In her mind she hears Xerim say "Please don't get into trouble." Too late...The elf is already on the move and follows the troop up the stairs - with a healthy distance of course. I'm curious why he has this Bodyguards around him. Has he something to hide?
When the conversation with Orla Tinkertop turns to the pipe, Carina is happy to take Ashton take the lead. Still listening, she soft-focuses her eyes and looks around the room, getting a feel for the people in it. With the dwarves and the elder gnome (Zinkkart Tinkertop) departed upstairs, her attention gravitates to the suspicious-looking humans who had apparently just fleeced the drunk dwarf. Carina tries to watch without obviously watching.
She can't help but draw a quick, alarmed breath when Ashton reveals Urgon's (and then Tulgi's) dagger relic from Eiselcross out in the open in a public tavern. She tries to sense whether anyone takes particular notice of it (or of Ashton, Orla and Carina). Especially the two suspicious-looking gamblers.
IF she sees them watching, she touches her harmonica and casts Minor Illusion to mimic the sound of one of their voices, as close as she can get it, speaking near them (30' range). Muttering "Think the Uttolots want a look at that?" Trying to see if that engenders a reaction.
(She is too preoccupied to even notice Pandora sneaking upstairs).
(Oh the Stealth was for both, showing the dagger and the volume with wich you speak out loud, that there is an illness in the city. Since no one else knows yet. ^^ but a 16 passes both)

As Ashton shows the dagger and mentions the spreading illness, he is sneaky and silent enough to only attract the interest of Orla Tinkertop. Carina sees the shady figures on the other table looking in their direction, as they have witnessed the scene with the dwarf and the pipe but they don't seem to have noticed the dagger or anything else yet. However they do look like they would like to see more of what is going on and they are talking with each other, looking and slightly pointing towards the group now and then. It seems like they are discussing what to make of you all and what to do. (So no minor illusion I think, since they do not have seen the dagger?)
As Ashton hands Orla the dagger she inspects it with the same interest as the pipe before, but this time she comes to a conclusion without using special equipment again.
"This is a aeorian dagger and indeed not the first one I see but a very beautiful piece again. As far as I know, they area magically enhanced weapons. Warriors wielding them hit more often and make more damage, as the blade is also magically sharpened." - She hands it back to Ashton.
"As for your request... Is there anything I should know about? What kind of illness are you talking about? Are my father and me in danger here in Palebank Village?"
Sadly, Orla is not as silent as Ashton was before and some of the guests, close to your table, raise their eyebrows and turn their heads as she mentions a danger to the village.

Meanwhile, Pandora is on the second floor of the tavern, where she has witnessed how the two dwarfs and the gnome disappeared in one of the rooms. She waits her time and then sneaks up to the door to listen if she can hear the 3 talking, but sadly the door muffles the sound too much. She looks around and notices that there are two adjacent rooms. From her experience, she knows that tavern room walls are mostly thinner than the doors. If she could grab a glass and could get into one of the rooms, she might be able to listen through a wall?

I walk towards the elven temple in the snapping cold night. "What have we stumbled upon? Why haven't I notice the illnesses here in Palebank?" I wonder to myself. I know the cold doesn't bother me but I cross my arms to keep me warm from the thought of something not right around me.
"We don't know that there is a sickness in Palebank. Sorry if I misspoke there. I was an acquaintance of Urgon, did you know him or meet him in his travels? He passed recently and I was here for the funeral, such a waste, he was an amazing man and his loss is tragic. I was referring to the town trying to cope with his loss."
Deception: 17
Ashton sits down beside Carina and lowers his voice.
"I am actually looking into finding some of the relics that my friend Urgon found in Eiselcross. It seems that they are quite valuable and have been stolen." We, my friends and I have been tasked with trying to find them. If we find some, would you be able to check them for us?"
Elmira is apart from most of the party, seeing them all do their own thing. Feeling a bit like an oddball, she looks around to see if this tavern features a game of darts or if there are people gambling nearby. Otherwise, she will frown as she overhears the other girls get their own private rooms. "Ahh, what a waste of money... Well, I guess this means I need my own room too.."

Crap. It could be easy for once. Pandora runs down the stairs back to the bar. "I grab the glas just for a second. I'll be back in a minute. i promise!" she winks to Arl.
Back on her way up the stairs, she stops with the presence of mind. Elmira's sigh did not escape her. So she turns on her heel and hurries back to her. She wants to avoid the attention of the others so she goes very close to Elmira and says very quietly "Would you like to join me? I'm upstairs, try to unlock a door to a room next to the elder gnome ones. I wonder why he has these bodyguards. Maybe he has something to hide. May not. Let's find it out." Pandora takes a step back and looks in Elmira's eyes "We should play some dart later." She smiles sincerely and turns to the stairs. "Oh. Where do i have my head?" she questioned loud to herself. So she turns to Elmira again "You can sleep with me in my room. You don't have to sleep with Ashton. I understand if you don't want this." She winks at her and holds out her hand in invitation.

(Sorry, I just caught up!)
