Faloniir will sip his whiskey and peer at the tied-up man for a moment over the lip of the bottle. He'll finish his sip with an exaggerated, "Ahhhh" and say, "He shouldn't have tried to kill us when we just came to talk. He could be enjoying right here alongside us but for his itchy trigger finger." Faloniir will squat in front of the bandit and offer him a sip. After the man accepts or declines, he'll ask, "Where's your leader?"
Faloniir will sigh and say, "That's too bad. It's fine whiskey." He'll take another sip, then smash the bottle over the bandit's face, "We can do this the easy way where you tell us what we want to know, then we leave, or the hard way where my large friend here takes out her bountiful aggression on your joints." Faloniir will give the man a moment to consider his words, then say, 'What will it be? A life as a cripple or a quick, polite conversation?"
Attack with bottle if needed: 9 (1d20 + STR Mod) Damage: 3 (1d4)
The bandit’s braveness shatters like the bottle of whisky. He remembers Fro dispatching one of his comrades in one hit, and the strange little gnome laughing maniacally, and Faloniir’s words sink home. Face dripping whisky, a cut on his cheek and a lump growing on his head, he says,
“Hulil is down that passage, but there’s a deep pool of water, too cold to swim, we’ve trained Old Croaker to ferry us across. He’s an extra large frog.”
“Hulil ordered us to kill intruders on sight. Have you come to slay her? She’s dying anyway…”
The bandit looks at Fro and thinks for a minute, then says,
“Old Croaker doesn’t know you. We each had to be familiarized with him before he’d carry us. Maybe if I gave the commands then he would obey. If I do this for you, will you let me go? This operation has no future. Hulil has some sickness and can’t find the cure. She thinks she got it from one of the artifacts we took from Pelc’s. She made each of us hold something for an hour, to see if we would get sick. I held the scroll case…”
”I’ll take the daggers. I already have some shortswords. And thanks for the extra money, Fro. Anyways…” Cyro turns to the bandit. “You fought well, I admit that. Where exactly is ‘Old Croaker’?” Cyro pockets the money and daggers.
Faloniir will nod to Fro regarding the pipe, "By all means, I don't smoke." He'll let Cyro take the daggers and put the shortswords in his pack to sell later. After smashing the man in the face with the bottle, Faloniir will hang back and let Fro speak to him. He'll watch the man for any signs of subterfuge as he speaks.
”Should we let him out, guys? He’s given us the information we wanted, and he can help us get to their leader. We should free him and keep an eye on him.’ Cyro says to the others. He then grabs the arrow he shot from the body of the dead bandit that he shot. Cyro did not like killing people for no good reason, and as this bandit had redeemed himself for what Cyro saw him do, they should live.
(OOC: Instead of sleeping, I suggest the group take a short rest, then be on our way. It will heal me, but I will not get any rage back)
Fro will rest and smoke her pipe for a bit, then get up and get ready to continue. "Show us where this croaker is, help us get past the pond, and you have our word that we will let you go." She stands him up, unties him and points in the direction of the crevice.
He leads you down the new passage, deeper into the caves. You hear dripping water ahead. Then the passage opens into a cavern with a large pool of water that stretches from one end to the other. Water drips from stalactites into the pool. At the far end is a passage with an orange glow, but the pool completely blocks your access to that passage.
Your new guide points across the pool at that passage.
“Hulil is in there, but not for much longer. I think she’s preparing to move back to her own country and hope someone there has a cure for her malady.”
The man approaches the pool, puts his fingers in his mouth, and gives a sharp whistle. The water ripples as a large leathery head emerges. Two large eyes gaze out blankly. Old Croaker appears to be significantly larger than the other frogs you saw.
The head strangely glides through the water towards your end of the pool but stops short of the edge. It lets out a large crooooaaak and the man curses under his breath.
“He’s hungry, I don’t have any food for him. Do you have any food you could toss to him? He’ll eat just about anything.”

The tied up bandit is glaring at you. Through gritted teeth he says,
“That’s not yours. It belongs to Kieran, who lies dead right over there.”
Faloniir will sip his whiskey and peer at the tied-up man for a moment over the lip of the bottle. He'll finish his sip with an exaggerated, "Ahhhh" and say, "He shouldn't have tried to kill us when we just came to talk. After the man accepts or declines, he'll ask, "Where's your leader?"
“I’ll not drink murdered Kieran’s whisky. He was saving it for a special occasion, and now that will never happen.”
“Our leader is safe beyond your reach, so put it out of your mind.”
Faloniir will sigh and say, "That's too bad. It's fine whiskey." He'll take another sip, then smash the bottle over the bandit's face, "We can do this the easy way where you tell us what we want to know, then we leave, or the hard way where my large friend here takes out her bountiful aggression on your joints." "Absolutely, take whatever you want. Make sure the little dude gets something tho. Help him defend himself a little.. Mind if I keep the pipe?"
Fro looks at the bandit laying there with whiskey all over him..."Hah, that looks like a special occasion to me, Kieran should be happy."
(OOC: Edited last post to reflect what I missed.)
Skye sits down, packs her pipe, lights it and says. "Tell me about this leader being out of our reach."

“Hulil ordered us to kill intruders on sight. Have you come to slay her? She’s dying anyway…”
"Were not here to slay anyone, you attacked us, or you would all be drinking whiskey instead of wearing it."
Skye takes a pull on the pipe as she ponders her situation.
"How do you get this frog to ferry you, is there a command or hand movement, or what?"
The bandit looks at Fro and thinks for a minute, then says,
“Old Croaker doesn’t know you. We each had to be familiarized with him before he’d carry us. Maybe if I gave the commands then he would obey. If I do this for you, will you let me go? Cyro watches this man carefully, and attempts to see if he is telling the truth about everything, and if he is infected or not. Insight: 15
Cyro & Faloniir, the man seems to be in earnest. You're pretty sure he's trying to get out of this alive, but he's also not trying to deceive.
"Old Croaker is in the pool just beyond the passage. I think he'll obey me, but you he'll either ignore or try to eat."
”Should we let him out, guys? He’s given us the information we wanted, and he can help us get to their leader. We should free him and keep an eye on him.’ Cyro says to the others. He then grabs the arrow he shot from the body of the dead bandit that he shot. Faloniir will say, "As long as he helps us across the pool like he said he would I am fine with letting him leave."
"Let's sleep, and take him with us as far as the croaker, then we can let him go. But for now, he stays tied up."
Fro looks at her companions to see if this is acceptable.
”That can work.”
Faloniir is amenable to a short rest. He spends the time retrieving and salvageable arrows and checking his gear.
