(the rolls are visible in game log, the goliaths have +5 modifiers)
Wolfhunter openly smirks as he sits across from Cyro, and his hand envelopes half the gnome’s arm. But when the wrestle commences he almost loses! He had only given half strength when the gnome was giving it his all. Somehow Wolfhunter’s arm moved backward! His eyes widen in shock, then narrow in concentration and the muscles bulge and strain as he slowly gains back his ground. Teeth clench and a slow growl rises from his throat as he gradually, with great effort, lowers the gnome’s arm closer and closer to the table, until Wolfhunter finally wins!
Then something strange happens. Wolfhunter gets up from the table but then he gives a small bow of respect to Cyro. “You have done well, little creature.” Then he turns to the crowd and raises his arms in a victorious pose.
Fro and Icewalker begin their arm-wrestle, muscles straining and knitting all along their arms and shoulders, but they’re locked in a stalemate! The crowd is cheering and shouting, some for Fro, some for Icewalker. Who is going to rise victorious??
Cyro shakes Wolfhunter’s hand. ”That was a close on. Your power is immense. Good work, Wolfhunter.” Cyro says. He gladly accepts that he lost, and bowed to the crowd, and his height made it seem like he was bowing in second place. To the crowd, he says: ”That concludes my run in the arm wrestling contest. Now if you wish. Three cheers for Wolfhunter!”
Both goliaths strain against each other for several minutes, and it comes down to endurance. The crowd holds their breath! For a moment all you can hear is the crash of rolling waves breaking against the Remorhaz’s hull and the creaking of ropes. Then suddenly Fro prevails!
Icewalker bows to Fro with respect.
(posting on my phone can be frustrating, it makes lots of errors, word swaps, capitalizing things, improper use of apostrophe-s, etc, so that’s what edits usually are addressing)
After the match, Icewalker bows to Fro, she walks over and clasps his hand. "Amazing, you are amazing."
At lunch, Fro gives the results of the day. "Great day today, both matches were very close. Tomorrow will be the last arm wrestling day at dinner, and the Heavy chest lift at lunch." She looks around the lunch room. "Thanks every one for supporting the games."
DAY SEVEN since being exposed to the powder in Hulil's thrown vial
DAY SIX of the sea voyage
The winds have died down and the sea is quite calm. The captain looks nervous. He carries a seachart with him, and he keeps unfurling it, examining it, and muttering, "Not here, not here..."
Wolfhunter is ready for the arm-wrestling championship against Fro. He rolls an 18.
The heavy chest lift is more athletics checks. The chest is loaded with heavy objects, but unevenly so the weight is not evenly distributed. Any stumbling off balance (moving a foot) when lifting the chest counts as a fail. If no one stumbled then whoever took longest to lift the chest is eliminated. Everyone goes at the one weight and then someone is eliminated either from stumbling or slowest to lift, then the weight is increased in the chest and everyone goes again.
We'll do athletics checks and whoever has the lowest athletics check is the one that stumbled on that round or had the hardest time lifting, and is eliminated.
[[ I did a bunch of rolls for the chest lift contest. Once we get 7 rolls from Faloniir and 6 rolls from Cyro we will see how it all plays out. Then I'll post the arm wrestling in the order it should occur. I made a spreadsheetfor the games if you want to follow along. Also I accidentally rolled 1 too many times for each NPC, I forgot that I'd already rolled for post #588, so I just omitted the last roll of each one, the rolls were all trash anyway! ]]
Guthrie is the first to be eliminated from the chest challenge, it wasn't heavy but he misjudged the awkward balance and stumbled to the side slightly as he lifted it.
Then more weight is added by the crew, and Captain Hightower is eliminated when he declines to lift it, saying he doesn't want to exacerbate a condition in his lower back.
The chest is laden with a few more objects and everyone has a go. This time it is Cyro who struggles to maintain his balance, and he's eliminated.
Next round the sailors get pretty tricky with the weight distribution, everyone bobbles it slightly but keep their feet steady, except for Fro, who takes one step to the side and is eliminated.
Next to stumble is Faloniir. Brash is still going toe to toe with the two other goliaths! Is this his actual job on the ship?
In fact, in the next round, Brash strains and his neck veins bulge but he lifts the chest slow and steady, and it is Wolfhunter who gets off balance and is eliminated.
Finally the chest is loaded with an obscene amount of weight, and Brash now unable to lift it at all. He collapses next to the chest, red-faced. Icewalker steps up and, with some effort showing on his face, manages to lift the chest, and is declared the winner.

Later in the day is the arm wrestle championship. The two goliaths face off, Icewalker vs Fro. Their fierce competitive spirit is showing as the wrestle commences, neither allowing the other to gain an inch. So much strength being channeled into the clasping of the two hands, it seems like one small change to the strained system could cause the ship to rip asunder. Icewalker's down-turned mouth frowns even deeper, but you can see Fro's blood boiling in her eyes as she gives a mighty yell and wins the match!

[If you guys wanna roll a series of athletics checks and post them in order, in the interest of time, that could work]
How many athletics rolls? But here’s the first. 19
There will be 7 eliminations, so 7 rounds, so 6 more rolls from you Cyro!
Fro Athletics for chests at lunch: 16, 14, 13, 6, 18, 20, 10.
Strength against Wolfhunter at dinner: 21
I may win arm wrestling, decided to go ahead and try to win.
Probably gonna lose chest lift in there somewhere.

Through all this the captain seems distracted, distraught by the low winds, looking frequently at his seachart.
Faloniir will approach Captain Hightower and say, "Is everything okay captain? You seem troubled."
Fro will see Faloniir approach the captain and join him.
"The games really seem to be going over well. Is something else bothering you?"
