Banyan initiative - 19 (trying to catch up at the moment. Head not in the game for anything currently with flu - feeling wiped out)
Banyan follows behind the others, Falonir was clearly willing to take the lead, and Banyan was happy to let him
The was dark, but the shapes and movement revealed the people within. Banyan readied his bow, glad that he could at least make out some details in the place. As the situation unfolds, the lanterns swing around, revealing more of the space and Banyan brings trains his weapon on the closest intruder, letting an arrow fly.
9 Intruders - moving to the back of the shop! One with a lantern is opening a door there that must lead outside. Fiddling with a slat lot mechanism first, slowing them down. There is also a narrow set of stairs here leading to the second floor.
The other with the lantern trains his light on Fro (biggest most obvious target), and the two without lanterns have their crossbows out. They turn and fire at her! One of the bolts finds its mark, and Fro takes 8 piercing damage!
6 Faloniir - hits one of the intruders in the shoulder with his shot! (any movement?)
Gilwynn’s flame lands, scorching the intruder working the door latch.
Faloniir do you want to specify which of the 4 guys you shot?
It’s back to Banyan’s turn!
The other lantern-bearing intruder is trembling a bit, as evidenced by the beam of light being quite shaky. The other two drop their crossbows and reach for their swords. One shouts,
Banyan moves quickly into the room, following the intruders as they head toward the back of the room, staying about 20 ft away from them. Nocking another arrow, he draws and fires at the person trying to open the door. "Try and keep that door closed," Banyan calls to the others.
Fro’s initial hit landed, despite the darkness, nearly finishing off one of the intruders.
Banyan’s arrow just misses.
Now the first intruder has got the door unlocked and wants to escape, but he can’t do so without turning his back on Faloniir. Instead, he grips the handle of his hooded lantern with both hands, and with a wordless snarl he heaves it at Faloniir with all his might, but he misses! (10 to hit) The lantern goes flying out of his hands and crashes into a bookcase, and suddenly there’s a wall of flames!
(Everyone can see better now in this dim light)
The other intruders have drawn their swords. You see fear in their eyes as they attempt to fight their way out of this mess. One swings at Faloniir, but he’s so shaken that he misses badly (1 to hit). The other lunges at Fro, also missing (12 to hit). The shaky lantern bearer is looking up at Fro’s terrible battle grimace and decides he’s had enough, ducking away from everyone (disengage) and exiting through the now unlocked back door!
Faloniir will have the damage from the first round allocated to the one that threw the lantern at him. Faloniir will disengage and chase after the one who slipped out the back door, Can't let him get away and warn the rest at Croaker's Cave!
Intruder #1 suddenly grimaces as his injuries catch up to him. He stumbles to the ground, trying to catch himself with his arms, and then his strength gives out and he flops down.
Witnessing this, the eyes of the others widen in fear but they hold their weapons at the ready and grit their teeth. One calls out,
In her rage, still screaming like a banshee, she brings the silvered maul up into the attacker directly in front of her(#4) "Bring it on you wretched thieves, I will kill you all."
