As Taggart walks around the top of the mountain he notices something that doesn't look right. Upon looking at it further he sees that the Necromancer had placed his other belongings in a small chest and buried it under some leaves and one of the dead bodies.
Taggart pulls the small wooden chest out from under the body. It is a small chest, roughly 2 feet in length and about 1 foot in height. It has an iron padlock attached to it and there are magical symbols carved along the top of the chest and on the lock itself.
Lethandaar tries to swim across the lake and gets a cramp 1/2 way across and must rest a moment before continuing.
Hey everyone I found something. A chest with some runes and a lock. Ezio did you find a key on the necromancer? We should check him for one otherwise Kvothe do you happen to have some lock picks? Someone should check it too maybe with arcana to make sure it isn’t spelled to hurt us!

Kvothe examines the chest for traps and possible triggers. He calls Ezio over and says “I can’t see any traps. Do you want see if there is anything magical here before I attempt to open it.”
Lethandaar: The runes look similar to the ones on your dagger but they aren't the same. They are magical in nature and you can't read them.
Drita: The runes are arcane in nature, They look to be magical symbols etched into the chest. Maybe some kind of warding spell of some sort. You aren't too sure.
The necromancer called this his home didn’t he? Where are the rest of his things then?

Unfortunately no, he was one of the men accompanying me on the quest. When I awoke he was lying next to me.... dead....
If you guys would like, I can purify your drinks.
We can climb down and refill our jugs before we rest.
That sounds good Panwan I'd be happy to join your group and assist now that mine is gone and my mission failed...
Ezio, give me a moment. I'll swim back to shore and grab a couple items for you to identify.
Tyr please help me swim without any problems this time...
I'll cast guidance whenever necessary for swimming ability checks.

Darn it Tyr what the heck! Do you WANT me to drown!?
When Lethandaar reaches the beach where his gear is he'll grab the flute and dagger and then swim back.

Krav frowned deeply at this news.
"I am sad to hear that. I didn't know him too well, but he seemed like a good type, and was part of the party I was in before."
Krav will sadly tell Kaslo this news, then spend the rest of the rest recuperating, after quietly reciting some of the prayers in his book.
And that's all I have to say about that.
Drita would like to examine the new chest of items, see if she can recognize the runes.
"I may be able to discern something from those runes."
She runs over to Taggart, again getting too close to him almost touching, starts to examine the chest and its runes as if he wasn't even there.

Maybe the runes are the same as the ones on my dagger...
Lethandaar will go over to see if they are.
(Would I understand the runes? My character knows Elvish, Dwarvish, Celestial, and Abyssal)
Nope, I don't recognize that. I know elvish, dwarvish, celestial, and abyssal so we can narrow it down that they aren't in those languages...

Guys the runes on this chest are the same ones on my bone dagger...
"Guys, the runes are of arcane nature, maybe a warding spell? Can anyone detect magic?"
She says this in a very chipper and energetic voice. She's very excited to be meeting so many different and unique new people.

So, Vindicator Panwan, what exactly is your mission? Could you give me a quick briefing?
