"Mik, Mik, Mikey, you are annoyin' you know that!?" Moxley sneers. However, Mik knows this is Mox's friendly sneer, if such a thing could exist. "I think I can forward you about 200 gold, but that's that. If you run off with that gold, just know the bosses will find and skin you alive."
He hands over 200 more gold to you.

"You know I don't bite the hand that feeds me. Leree lets go get ready for this trip"
If I am correct it is night time, and about time to bed down, would we be close enough to get out of the city to sleep for the night, if so Mik would have a few camp sites set up outside of town that he would sleep at when he could otherwise we would look for an Inn to stay in. Other wise looking for stuff would be food for the trip, stuff to make small game traps out in the wild, and potentially some health potions. Also a draft horse and cart, and/or other people who are heading in that direction that we could tag along with.
In terms of equipment like that, including the horse and cart, you can easily find and buy those for the prices in the PHB. Hunting Traps are the equip you are looking for when it comes to hunting game. Feel free to just list what you are buying and how much gold you have left over. As for groups heading up that route, there is one small group. They are made up of mostly humans with a sprinkling of elves that are heading north to Silverymoon by way of the Long Road, which coincidentally passes right through Red Larch. They would be hiring guards to help escort them North, but they do have a few warriors and mages on hand as well.

Mik got a horse, named Buster, and a cart, 40 rations(for both Mik and Leree), 2 potions of healing (one each) and I paid for 5 "hunting traps" at 5 gold each, however these traps seem to be for more larger animals, the description reminds me more of a bear trap, I am paying for them this way but in my mind I am thinking Mik would want more of a snair trap, The thought is to set the traps at night about 50+ feet away from the camp then in the morning go and check on them. This would be a routine that Mik would noramly have. I have paid for everything and am down to less than 100 gold.
Thought for snair traps depending on how "deep" or "detailed" or "real" we want to make this, for a more extream version I would ask that we roll a d4 for every night and thats how many small animals he catches, for a more simplistic way of looking at this, when I buy rations, I also buy 1 hunting trap (5gp) that can count as I want to say d12+10 rations (ration being .5 gp) Not sure how "deep" or "detailed" or "real" you want to make this.
I think we can do it this way, let me know what you think:
It takes 8 hours for a snare trap to work. When you go to check it, you roll a survival check. The results would be:
1-10 is a half ration 11-19 is a full ration 20+ is 2 rations
Small animals probably wouldn't provide that much food, but suspension of disbelief. You would need to set your trap every night while out in the wilderness to make sure you get some to eat. On a day where you are only fed a half ration, we can have a hunting encounter for deer or small game. Or a bear if you feel zesty.

Sounds good, Mik would most likely still buy rations to suplement when he doesn't catch enough food to eat.
"Leree what do you think, should we link up with these people or should we go our own way? I like the idea of traveling with others, many hands make light work."
"Hmmm, there is a lot to be said about light work, but I think in this case I can let my hardworking attitude go a little."Leree grins. "I think we should take our chances and see if we can join up. It's only until we reach this Red Larch place, right?" Leree is saddling up Dragon, her black wolf. The wolf is a grumpy sort, but he always seems like a puppy when Leree pets him. "Dragon doesn't get along with people, but I'll keep him in line."
The caravan is about a dozen people, with 4 of them as warriors/mages/archers. The leader of this group is a noble, apparently, when you ask around. You spot him easily since he sticks out like a sore thumb. His name is Lord Drenen Silverhand.

Mik approaches Lord Silverhand, remembering some of my upbringing I offer noble curiosities.
"I am Mik and this is Leree, we are both people of the wild and look to be traveling in the same direction, till Red Larch, we would like to offer a trade, our services as wild life experts and hunters, with a secondary of some more security and you will simply allow us to travel with you."
"Ah, good morning. Mik and Leree, is it? It would seem our fates align today. I was in need of extra guards, but finding experts for our travels is even better." Lord Silverhand grins. "So it is true you are experts? What sort of expertise you can really offer us? I hope you don't mind the question. This is part of the interview. I always need to be cautious, especially when traveling with a small retinue."
[Whatever you say, just accompany it with a persuasion or deception check -- deception just if you are lying about something. You could defer to Leree if you wish as well, but she lacks charisma.]

Lord Silverhand looks reasonably impressed by your spectacle of flame. He strokes his beard thoughtfully and says, "Ahh, I see. Very well then, I think it can be arranged for you to join us. Welcome aboard, Mr. Mik and Ms. Leree."
"Just Leree is fine."Leree says a bit flatly. You know she isn't really into the whole titles and manners thing with nobles. She mounts Dragon.
"As you wish, my lady." Lord Silverhand chuckles and rejoins the other important looking folk in this small caravan. Leree looks kind of pissed off, but she doesn't say anything back thankfully.
An elven woman from the main group catches a look at the fire you created, and walks over. "Curious, you know how to use magic. Natural talent or learned?" You have no idea who this person is.
