Favored Terrain is Forest which you approved as here and my skill says this - You have a favored terrain type. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for proficient skills when you make an INT or WIS check related to it. - Not sure if this means actual int or wis checks or skills that use wis or int?
Nemi is on her guard, surveying the area intensely, especially for giant moths. survival8
That does mean a check such as survival. And you can get all the benefits of level 2 whenever you want, ts fine. It’s not specified in the rules so why not immediately?
"Hmmm, no moths yet" says Elric, surprised at himself for being surprised. "I don't know why I thought they would just ...be here"
The halfling cleric thinks a moment, then his eyes snap wide open and he drops his pack, rummaging through it. He produces the torch that he had used earlier, now extinguished.
"If we make a light during the night, maybe the moth will come to us?"
With this Horkur lights the pile of detritus, then sits back woth his shortswords in his lap, unwraps a ration, and begins to eat and enjoy the warmth of their work.
Elric and Horkur busy themselves with building a fire, while Nemi carefully investigated the strange environment. You’re struck by the wide variety of vegetation here, and you wonder what specific properties they might have - don’t people use herbs for medicinal or other purposes? But eventually you’ve circled back to the others, where now a fire is going, casting crazy shadows in the rapidly darkening evening, and you get the strong impression that there is something nearby, perhaps hiding in plain sight, and you just haven’t put your finger on it yet, so to speak…
All can make a perception check now (unlocked thanks to Nemi’s good investigation) with advantage (for the fire idea).
Your careful investigations and the fire have borne fruit. It suddenly dawns on you that the moth is here, in the vicinity of the fire! Its motionless form on one of the nearby giant herbs was looming over you the whole time. The pattern on its wings blended in perfectly with its surroundings, but somehow now you've noticed it, and now you can't unsee it.
Realizing it has been spotted, the moth flutters its wings gently and again a telepathic voice is heard in your minds,
Little friends, you've spotted me, well done! What can the Moon Moth do for you?
Nemi smiles as broadly as a Tortle can and greets the large creature, "What a magnificent creature you are! We've come upon our present sizes as sort of a dilemma, but I must admit I'm almost enjoying my new perspective. A chance to appreciate the wonders within a garden that so often take for granted!" The Ranger finds herself quite distracted by the Moth ability to blend that she forgets to ask what they need. She'd always considered the ability to be easy for them due to size and her lack of notice, but to see such a large performance of it leaves her a little entranced.
Cheetah on the other hand is in a different sort of heaven seeing a favorite treat enlarged, licking her furry lips and creeps back into the pack before she gets herself into trouble.
"Speak for yerself!"Horkur chimes in between bites, spitting food as he continues. "Been shorter than everyone my whole life, but this takes the cake! Finding heart-shaped rubies we can't spend, purple eye'd bees trying to sting anything that moves, crazy wizard who lied to us and his invisible friend and ungrateful cat. Oh, and an owl somewhere - a barn owl could have damned near carried me off before I was shrunk. Now, I'm barely a bite!"
He finishes his rant, grumbles and sighs deeply, then crams a fistful of food in his mouth. Swallowing hard he asks: "So of you happen to know anything bout any of that, it would be mighty appreciated."
The Moon Moth flutters its wings slightly at this outburst but the words coming to your minds seem to attempt a soothing tone, though what it conveys to you next is not so reassuring:
Being small can be hard, yes. There are more dangers in this garden even than you mentioned. For example, a snake stalks the garden during daylight hours. I try to stay hidden, but you lot may need to adopt a different strategy.
"Hah!" He exclaims. "And let me guess, there is a piranha, or, or, or a shark in the pond too!"
Horkur crams the rest of his ration in his mouth with another grumble. As he calms a bit he thinks to himself: "But how do we get out of here?" He finally swallows, which calms him down enough to talk again.
"Do you happen to know about the bees around here?"
Well there is a large koi fish in the pond, yes. A wise old creature, to be sure.
As for the bees, it makes me sad. They used to be happy industrious creatures, but now they appear to be tainted with some evil magic, and what’s worse, I believe they are trying to spread the taint.

Nemi chuckles in her tortle fashion, "Like a Moth to a Flame perhaps?"
"We are quite small still - perhaps we need a bigger fire than a torch. However, we may also attract more than a moth.." Horkur responds.
He pauses for a moment, then begins walking about and picking up twigs and things which look as though they would burn well.
Survival Check: 23
"Don't have any better ideas though, so I'll start a pile for us."

Nemi nods at Horkur, "Perhaps if we ALL carry torches?" She says patting her pack with 10 more but helps him gather things that appear burnable.
Nemi, try an investigation check to look for the moth.
It’s currently late afternoon. Sun will set soon.
There are many strange plants around you. Horkur is able to gather plenty of flammable detritus.
"Of course, a big fire!" says Elric, feeling a little stupid. He sets about helping gather wood .
"Let's see if this works!"
With this Horkur lights the pile of detritus, then sits back woth his shortswords in his lap, unwraps a ration, and begins to eat and enjoy the warmth of their work.

Elric sweeps the area with his keen eyes, prompted by Nemi's good work and aided by the fire:
