"Evil bees? Oh my, that sounds bad"says Elric, worriedly.
"Do you know anything about the invisible guardian of the large house? We think we have the ingredients to fix our size problem, but worry we may not get to use them"
You must not go to the cottage. I suspect the old man that lives there is the source of the evil taint. He has gained dark powers by selling his soul to a demon.
I do not know how you can reverse your predicament, but there are other wise inhabitants in these gardens who may know more. The koi fish, for one, but also an old large bullfrog makes his home at the pond. The weeds at the edges of the garden are home to many hostile insects, but there is a wise quail that has been said to honor those who vanquish many insects. And the owl Whitewing is, of course, very wise, but he is also a predator and should probably be avoided.
These are but some of the denizens of this area who may know more than I.
"Hey Nemi, do we want to travel now? I am with you if that is our decision, but seems like we may have a chance for a bit of rest before traveling out.." He looks up into the sky, half expecting to see a flying shadow circling above.
Pushing the point a bit more, "I mean we have a fire already too.."

"Ah, yes, You are right. The mystery of this place captured my attention. Let us rest." She looks nearby for potential edibles to gather for the group. (but not too far). "Come Cheetah, we find food."
Nemi you’ve foraged some edibles and also an herb you recognize as Fairy’s Breath, which you can brew into a tea that, when consumed, heals 1d4 HP and cleanses poison.
The Moon Moth encourages you all to seek out counsel from more of the wise creatures in the garden, and compliments you on your beautiful fire, then takes its leave of you with a great fluttering of its wings, disappearing into the dark night sky.
Many nighttime sounds fill the air, crickets and other insects humming chirping and singing. In the distance you notice the flickering on-off lights of fireflies. But the coloration is strange; you’ve never seen purple fireflies before.
"Yes, I imagine we will meet more strange and wonderful beings tomorrow" says Elric. "Shall we rest for the night? I get forgetful when I'm tirrrreeddd"
The last word is stretched out in a yawn, the cleric already unfurling his bedroll.
Nemi gestures to the lights in the distance. "Remember the purple from the bees? I suspect those Fireflies have a bit of it themselves."
Making quick use of the active fire into a cook fire, Nemi makes quick us of her cooking skills slicing up herbs and other edibles she's discovered. Hopefully resulting in something a little more interesting for dinner. Then noting the fairy's breath, starts to brew up as many doses of the tea as she can. Even cold it should work then empties her waterskin and fills it with the tea (if DM allows - and could give me an amount of doses?) As She does this, she tries to remain alert to her surroundings hoping the wildlife doesn't find the meal as appealing as she soon does.
"Eat up! I'll take first watch." She encourages the others if the cooking goes well. (cooking proficiency with utensils)
A cluster of fireflies is getting closer, perhaps attracted by the fire. Their patterns weave and blink and intermingle in fascinating patterns. They dance through the air in earnest as though putting on a performance for you, their audience. As they approach the firelight you see their insectile forms, hovering in the air, wings flicking too fast to see, each beetle-like about as big as Horkur.
Horkur grabs his short swords and looks for a position to put his back against his allies, or at least a solid object. Not sure if they or hostile or not, he ensures he is ready to throw down instantly.

Remembering the Purple lights from the bees, Nemi is concerned with the mesmerizing effect of the fireflies. She draws her bow and fires a shot at one.
Elric drinks deeply of the wonderful tea that Nemi brews. "Oh wow, this is yummy" he says with a warm smile.
He stares at the fireflies and their pretty colours, completely mesmerised. He starts to daydream and his mind wanders, lost until he snaps awake as Nemi fires her bow..
(sorry I've been crazy busy and putting off this post as we will set up a combat situation)
(To speed things up I'll roll initiative for everyone)
The fireflies are weaving an intricate dance and the flashing lights are indeed mesmerizing! Everyone make a charisma saving throw! Horkur will get to act before their effects become manifest, however.

The Moon Moth flutters in an agitated manner.

Elric turns to his companions; "I like the idea of this talking fish"
Nemi smiles, "Yes, a talking Koi it is. It shall be an interesting conversation. I thank you beautiful Moon Moth, you've been most helpful."
She adjusts her gear and gazes up at the sky to get her bearings and starts in the direction of the pond.
(reminder it's now nightfall)

Pretty lights, indeed. The fireflies are coming closer, staying in motion to produce mesmerizing patterns of purple light. How do you respond?

Any chance Nemi gets an early attack? that initiative is abysmal. She has a plus three but even if it wasn't included, it still would be last :P
Charisma Save 10 with no specific resistances.
Yeah Nemi can have a surprise round, she initiated combat, good point!
Nemi knocks one of the insects out of the air with her shot, it hits the ground heavily wounded and starts limping away. And THEN we go to round 1!
17 Horkur -
17 firefly A (6 dmg, not flying) - limping away

If any are in range of Horkur for melee he will run up and attack:
If they are not within range, Horkur will pull a hand-axe and attempt to throw at one of the fireflies closest to him.
