Zaius recovers from his shock in time to avoid both of the creature’s attacks. Coughing in the thickening smoke, he strikes back with his scimitar, slashing across the creature’s body.

Rel will shout encouragement to his crew (As a bonus action, spend one use of Bardic Inspiration to grant 5 temporary HPto up to 5 creatures you can see and that can see you within 60 ft. Each creature can immediately use its reaction to move up to its speed, without provoking opportunity attacks.)
And then he will fire his hand crossbow at the nearest lump, trying to discern if the creature seems to resist the piercing damage of the crossbow bolt.
Erma winds her way back around the fire to block the entrance to the galley. Rel gives the command, an alarm sounds and hatches across the deck snap open. A cyclone of fire is whipped up and sucked out through the hatch beyond the galley [it looks very impressive, the vfx team earned their pay]. One of the creatures, that had hopped up into the air to fly at and claw Erma, is caught up in the stream of hot air and dragged out of the hatch with it!
Vision clearing in the thinned smoke, Rel easily lands a crossbow bolt in the wing of one of the remaining creatures [it takes the whole 7], while Zaius cuts a deep slash across the its chest.
Roy reaches the top of the access shaft, takes in the scene, and immediately looses a crossbow bolt at the creature he can see. [Con save: 22 Crossbow vs #2: 25 for 15] piercing damage]

Roy's bolt hits the creature directly between its eyes, blowing the back of its head off in a spray of hot molten goo. But a moment later, before the thing's body can even slump to the deck, it explodes, sending gobs of red-hot magma all around it! [All creatures within 5'—I think that's Erma and Zaius—must make a DC 11 Dexterity saving throw, taking 10 fire damage on a failed save, or 5 on a successful one]
The last remaining creature moves up and claws at Zaius. [#3 Claw vs Zaius: 14 for 5 slashing damage plus 1 fire damage]
Con Save (straight role, advantage from venting canceled out by exhaustion) 21.
Zaius leans back and is able to avoid most of the magma from the exploding creature, armor sizzling from the small globs that strike him. Luckily, his movement takes him away from the attacks of the second creature and he is able to easily dodge the claws. He pivots and strikes with his scimitar again, trying to cut through the creature's fiery torso.
Erma breathes heavily through the fire damage, closes her eyes, and says, "Everything is fine."
She uses her action to use Channel Divinity: Preserve Life. It restores a total of 15 HP, up to half the hitpoint maximum of any one creature. She uses 9 of those for herself, bringing her HP up to 16.
There are 6 more hit points to heal for anyone, but only if you are below half your hitpoint maximum. First come, first serve.
Erma heals herself and [… who else? From my rough tracking I think Roy is probably the worst hurt?], while Zaius slices at the remaining creature, which jumps back out of the way, right into the line of Roy's bolt, which pierces a large hole in one of its wings.
