Three recognises the disease - it is an ancient and deadly ailment called mummy rot. Though not common, should these bandage clad undead rise again and hit a living creature, they imprint some of their rotting power into them. The creature loses health for each day that elapses, as the curse spreads. It is said that if the creature is not cured fast enough, they will turn to sand. The curse lasts until removed by the remove curse spell or other magic.
The sandstone piece is certainly very unusual. It is shaped almost like a puzzle piece, only there are no other pieces to be seen in this room. The sandstone features a relief depicting a pharaoh placing the hands of two individuals together, in harmony. Squinting a little, Khaddim realises with shock that the individuals are both slaves - one of them an earth genasi, the other a goliath.

Are any of you guys a priest by any chance? This disease is called mummy rot, an ancient curse that is transferred by the undead. The only way to stop it is to remove the curse.

"I'd probably be the closest to one but even then, whatever I'm doing isn't really having any effect. Besides, this is also my first time seeing this awful disease so I have no clue on how to cure this." Yuri sighs followed by a sudden hiccup. Her panicking red eyes glance nervously back down at Gnash (who I presume is still lying/sitting on the floor) and then at the others. "Umm, if there's no one who can eliminate it, I just have one question to say: Does anyone know if the sphinxes might have knowledge on this?"
(Wait I just want to ask because I kept seeing in in previous posts: Is Mummy's rot a curse AND a disease?)

'I don't think any of us has the knowledge, let alone the power, to cure this affliction.' I replied to Miss Yurime's distressed remark. 'We should them get to a priest of sufficient faith, lest they progress too far to turn back.'
"'In his first century of his reign....brought harmony...with wisdom from Thoth...united them and brought peace between their peoples'reads Khaddim out loud. "There is also a keyhole. Did anyone found a key arround here?"asked before walking towards the second mummy and grabs looks at the oddly shaped sandstone trying to understand it.
'A key?'
I slid my hand into my pocket and retrieved something metallic. 'Might this be of use?' It was the trinket I had picked up from out of the mummy's ashes.
(Google says mummy rot is technically a curse - sorry for the confusion. BTW, I don't think Rashaken needs to roll history to remember he visited a shop specialising in, and I quote; 'magical maladies'. Just something to think about.)

Just as everyone is worrying about the mummy rot and the key, Three seems faint, as he falls onto his behind. He has a few ideas for potions that seem to have been inserted into his mind all of a sudden. "I... think we should take a short rest first. I feel faint, and I have a couple of things I wish to try out."
"I don't mind taking a short rest but is anyone brave enough to ask Maatabout our current situation?"Asks a desperate, pouting Yuri who is frustrated that she probably should've rephrased her message about the sphinxes.
"I got it. I've had the most success talking to her so far, so I should probably talk to her again. Anyone wanna come with?"
"You should probably go with him, you two." Yuri addresses Khaddim and Gnash.
(If anyone is willing to take a short rest during this time though, she will perform a song of rest with her flute and whoever is dama- oh wait it's just the latter two... can regain an extra 1d6 HP along with the HP dice they spend.)
(Sorry for late response, holidays were crazy for me here.)
Gnash nods at the suggestion from Yuri. While not eager to distract from the mission he could also recognize that this ailment would only continue to cause problems if left untreated.
Rashaken, Three, Khaddim and Gnash, you trace your steps back outside the pyramid. As you do, Maat climbs down from the top and immediately flies down, landing in front of you. The expression on her face turns from elation to anger as she realises her daughter isn't with you.
"Where. Is. Deshret?" she spits out, baring her teeth. "You made me a promise!"

Three immediately bows his head down, standing in front of the other two
"We have not broken out promise Maat, we have simply come across a small problem." He looks back up towards Maat.
"We have encountered this curse called 'mummy rot', and several of us have been afflicted. Do you know of any way to remove this curse quickly? And if not, is there anything we can do to slow down the process while we continue searching the pyramid for Deshret?"

The sandstone features a relief depicting a pharaoh placing the hands of two individuals together, in harmony. Squinting a little, Khaddim realises with shock that the individuals are both slaves - one of them an earth genasi, the other a goliath.
He finds the image of a pharaoh being peacefull with the people that the current one considers slaves interesting but at the same time puzzling. When did the pharohs of Aldhahab started to have slaves if they lived in harmony before? And why did things changed? But even with this questions running through his head, Khaddim knew that the sandstone was important, so he put it inside his backpack.
I slid my hand into my pocket and retrieved something metallic. 'Might this be of use?' It was the trinket I had picked up from out of the mummy's ashes.
Khaddim looks at the trinket Rashaken gave him and before leaving the room he aproached Yuri "Take it, it looks like it could work on the hole over there where the inscriptions are."
Now that he was outside, he bowed to the sphinx while holding his body with his quarterstaff and remained silent to let Three talk.
Khaddim looks at the trinket Rashaken gave him and before leaving the room he aproached Yuri "Take it, it looks like it could work on the hole over there where the inscriptions are."
"Oh, uhh, thank you, mister" Replies Yuri as her concealed ears twitched upon receiving the key. "Be careful out there" she lightly adds as she witnesses the four men walking towards the entrance whilst leaving her with the other two women inside.
Upon being handed the broken key piece, the disguised kumiho slowly paces herself towards the locked door and glances at the various drawings there. Here goes nothing, She thinks as she reached out with her right arm to try and unlock it. If this door contains more mummies or traps... But then a pained memory of the mummies flashes in her crimson eyes for one second, prompting her to retract her arm into her chest for ten seconds before she withdrew from the door.
Though she wanted to impatiently advance, Yuri decided to play safe. "Let's wait for them to come back first. I fear that this door will contain either more of these disgusting mummies or a cluster of traps. T-t-hough if you want m-me to try to uhh, u-unlock it..." she stutters in a low-pitched tone that only Rohar and Seria can hear, all the while looking for clues that might give way to Deshret's current whereabouts. Investigation: 9 (Don't ask what happened but DND became bugged for me. Ignore the next two rolls. Also, I'm posting ahead of time because I'll be busy for the next four days.)

"Mummies! I should have known. If my daughter has been killed by those unholy creatures, I swear I shall burn your city to the ground," Maat lets out in an angry hiss, shaking her head. "Very well. Those of you who are cursed, come forward. I can do something to help you, but I will not be able to do it again, not for a while."
