(This will be my last post for the year. I'll be inactive until the 2nd January because I'll be flying overseas. You guys can continue without me if you want but I'll come back when I touch down and find some internet over there. In the meantime, Merry Christmas.)

"Alright. Does anyone want to do the honours?" Yuri asks as she stares at and examines her teammate's apprehensive expressions. "No? Fine! Be like that! I'll do it myself." Not wanting to delay any longer, she grabs the staff and places it on the statue's open hand.

(Well chosen! Also Merry Christmas to those who have or still are celebrating)

The statue’s hand closes around the staff, and with a click, it begins to move mechanically. It turns the staff and then slams it into the ground loudly, lighting up the heiroglyphs in front of the statue with glowing blue magic.

Completely out of place, Three says: "So that means I can keep the khopesh, right?"

"You can keep it for all I care, I don't need it."  Rohar looks at the glyphs closer. 

Does the khopesh have any distinct features?

Yuri stands back as the statue does its own thing. All of a sudden, she turns her head behind her and notices the hieroglyphs lighting up before gesturing the others to come over and read what is on the floor since she can't read them herself.

Gnash lumbers over to stand beside Yuri and peaks over her shoulder at the writing. "Curious." (Is this a language we might know or is there a check to attempt deciphering it I could make?)

No check is needed to read these glowing hieroglyphs - they are written in this world's version of common. The glyph to the statue's right means 'mage', and the one to the one to the statue's left means 'priest'. The khopesh seems like an ordinary khopesh, however the hilt is decorated with gold and rubies - it could probably be sold for a high price. 

OOC: Did DnD remove Khopeshes? I can't add the item, and it doesn't exist in the search area.

DND beyond doesn't have them...what you might want to do is take a scimitar and rename it, they essentially work the same.

"Hmm, mage and priest..." Yuri mutters as her tail inquisitively sways back and forth from underneath her disguise. "This may seems like it could relate to the previous pharo-pharo-uh... pharo's role right? Only thing is, what importance would this signify?"

"A mage and a priest might need to touch the sigils respectively."

At Three's suggestion, Yuri tentatively rises up on her slender legs before staring at her teammates, from the two slaves, to the peculiar Seria and then the Tiefling himself and Gnash. Looking at each of the members, her curious expression hastily changes into one full of unease and worry seeing that the majority of them do not fit the criteria. Seems like to her, she herself alongside Gnash and Three might be the closest to the answer.

"Umm... I could probably do the mage bit since I am a magic user after all..." She flinches apprehensively. "...unless if... someone else wants to step in... and..." She turns towards Gnash once again, carefully containing her cloak above her head whilst doing so. "Lizard Guy umm... You communicate to a god of some sort right? That might be the closest thing to what a priest might do so... maybe you could do the same for that?"

If no one is willing to do it, Yuri will squat down again and place her right hand on the mage hieroglyphs.

The room remains still, and Yurime's hand seems to have no affect on the hieroglyph. From her position, however, she does notice that the base of the statue looks like it could rotate. 

"Well that didn't work..." Yuri muttered as she gets up and lightly leans on the statue... Before jumping and giving a Yelp as she heard a creak as it slightly rotated. "Huh?" Yuri gasps as she turns the statue clockwise with her hands this time. "Hey uhh, what's with the statue being able to turn? Does anyone know? Or is this another trap activator?"

Rashaken considers Yurime's words, brushing his own bandage covered hands over the statue. "Hmm. I believe the idea might be to move the statue to face either of the hieroglyphs. But which one, I cannot be certain."

"Hmm, maybe I'll keep turning the statue and lock it in the position of each of those weird drawings until something happens" Yuri mutters as she spins the statue whilst locking it towards each of the hieroglyphs one at a time.

Which one are you spinning it towards first?

She starts at the top-roght hieroglyph then moves clockwise... (Unless if there's a specific order that it needs to be turned)
