You arrive at the south end of Silverthread Bridge and see that Bharash's fears are correct. Seven or eight Talisten guards are doing their best to hold their ground on the bridge, but it is obvious they will soon be overcome. They have fought valiantly; many undead have been destroyed, but you see the bodies of guards as well, with arrows protruding from them. You estimate that for every Talisten guard you can see on the bridge there are three undead. (See map below). The three skeletons (8, 9, and 10) are archers, standing on the bridge wall.
Kempis rushes forward to attack wight #1.
NOTE: You hear Bharash telepathically as you step onto the bridge: "Sariel?! We've not heard from you. Where are you?" She does not respond.
Rolling initiative is NOT necessary. All undead will attack in one round. All good guys will attack in another. There are no grid markers; so you can explain your position on the map by telling me which guard/skeleton/wight you are near.
(Yes, Arissa is clear-headed now, free of the effects of being stunned). Xellos, the Chancellor's answer seems believable, but you're not wholly convinced.
The Chancellor seems a bit indignant about all the demands you've placed on him, but he also shows signs that he doesn't want to cross you at this point. "Into battle? Me? I hold an elected office not a sword, Xellos. You've all but assured my death." He hangs his head for a moment and mutters, "This is dreadful. I will do what I can. Lead on."
NOTE: At about this time you hear Bharash telepathically: "Sariel?! We've not heard from you. Where are you?" She does not respond.

Frandal stops and fires one of his ice arrows at one of the fartest wights as the eagle dives in and distract it just in time the spells hits and flies away. Without stoping he fires two more arrows to the skeletons that are fighting one of the guards.
Celebquesse will distrat wight 6 with the help action to give Frandal advantage.
Attack: 25 Damage: 1
additional roll for Elven accuracy: 13
I am not sure of this but just in case that applies thanks to the advantage: Sneak attack damage: 4
On a hit DEX ST vs 15 or take. 12 more. Hopefully and assuming a 5ft square cuadricule, wight 7 and skeletons 11 and 12 should make it too. Casted as 2nd lvl
Action Surge:
Attack on the skeletons: ( 12,11,9 on priority. All attacks to the same one until dropped)
Attack: 27 Damage: 8
Attack: 28 Damage: 10
Woo we have a crit! Additional damage from the spell:
Total damage taken: 26 (14 hp piercing damage + 12 hp cold damage)
Area of effect damage on wight 7 and skeletons 11 and 12
Wight 7 DEX save: 10 (12 hp cold damage)
Skeleton 11 DEX save: 4 (12 hp cold damage)
Skeleton 12 DEX save: 10 (12 hp cold damage)
*Frandal: Regarding your Action Surge attacks, you can't reach those skeletons because (1) you're too far away with 10' squares and (2) the number of creatures on the bridge makes for difficult terrain. You can keep those rolls, but please pick different (closer) targets. Thanks!
Ozum waves his hand and causes dilation in space around some of the wights. He continues his drudic chants as he slams his staff on the ground, and it grows into a gnarled, knotted weapon.
can use either an action or a bonus action, not both
it can't make more than one melee or ranged attack during its turn.
to cast a spell with a casting time of 1 action, roll a d20. On an 11 or higher, the spell doesn't take effect until the creature's next turn, and the creature must use its action on that turn to complete the spell. If it can't, the spell is wasted.
another Wisdom saving throw at the end of its turn
Excuse me, but doesn’t 50 feet are still short range for the longbow? And the Sharpshooter feat doesn’t ignore half and three quarters cover? Still I understand that there are so many people and chaos to have a clear shot. So let’s fire at skeleton 8 trying to take out the archers.

Xellos says to the Counsellor,"As I said, we will protect you. I'm only asking you to help organize the defense of the city. If things get too rough, we'll find you a safe place. Despite what you may think, I'm not a monster."
He then whispers to him,
" Think about it, this is good for you politically, sir, even if you don't *directly* lead them in battle. Just remember who advised you through it after all of this is over. Maybe a seat on your consul will do? I only got a little rough for appearances for the Windhovers, you understand right? I'm on your side." he says with a wink.
Deception 26 (oops my mod is +5, this should be 22)
Xellos says telepathically, *"Arissa and I are on the way with the Counsellor, who is acting strangely. I'm trying to get in good with him for later as we run. We will hurry the the bridge."*
*"Bharash, are you able to Detect Magic? Sariel has a magic trinket on her that can be tracked if you're close to her.
Xellos with the Counsellor (and I assume Arissa) run for the Bridge.
As we run Xellos says, "Counsellor, they are attacking the Silverthread Bridge. My gut tells me they may be sending a smaller ambush force too. Are there any unguarded secret entrances that Arconius would know about?"
He also loans the Counsellor a (non-magical) dagger and his crossbow with bolts. "Just in case. If I say run then go hide somewhere nearby, ok? Keep that trinket so we can find you."
Xellos and Arissa: The Chancellor shakes his head. "No, I don't think you're a monster...I will help however I can." He seems less confused now but definitely more fearful. He motions silently, indicating he's ready to go with the two of you.
"No secret entrances. None, " he responds, regarding your question about secret entrances. He takes the dagger, crossbow, and bolts in hand and then takes a deep breath.
Bharash responds telepathically: 'Yes, I can cast that spell. I'm wondering if she can't communicate telepathically if she's assumed an animal form via Wild Shape. Why else wouldn't she respond?"
(The three of you will arrive at the bridge when the current round of combat ends)
*Perhaps she does not respond because Arconius has stolen her away.* Arissa is unusually pessimistic.

Two skeletons have moved to archer positions on the left side of the bridge.
Arissa and Xellos, along with the Chancellor, have arrived.
Bharash has suddenly appeared as well; he is flying through the air in a flanking maneuver to the right of the bridge (he's roughly 40' above the bridge)
All wights and skeletons directed their attacks on guards during last round; therefore, none of you were under any threat of harm.
Frandal has begun round two of the melee and killed another skeleton, which tumbled off the left side of the bridge and disappeared into the darkness below.
Kurt, Ozum, Arissa, and Xellos: your turns are next; take your action in any order (DM will then roll for Kempis and Bharash)
Kurt with both swords out, races towards the Silverthread Bridge.
