Ellaria looks over the contract and looks up appreciatively at Tala's questions. After hearing the response and seeing the others start to head away, Ellaria makes her way to Briggid, "Thank you for being upfront about the simplicity of the contracts and answering the questions about what may be missing on the contract. I have one last question regarding anything found at these ruins. If we were to come upon any spell scrolls would they be required to be turn over, and if so, would we be allowed access to learn from them, at some point in time?"
- Fine by me. See you guys in the Flickering Ember in two hours.
With a slight nod of his head, Eric turns and disappears through the Academy hallways. He then exits the building and in no time he's walking the streets of White Flame again, mingling with the crowd and trying to go unnoticed, as per his usual demeanor.
Knowing well enough that he can't just leave the city for who knows how many days out of the blue, he needs to leave a message to inform his boss about it. As their base of operations is in Alba he will not be informing him personally, but instead leave a message that will reach him later today. Eric just needs to write it in a language only their kind will understand and leave it in a specific nook at an specific alleyway. Then, a trusted messenger will pick it up and deliver it.
In the message he just specifies that he will be out of White Flame for a few days to join a bunch of adventurers in a job for the Academy, which he expects will give him the possibility of getting near some the members of this institution. This can always come in handy if the Crows ever need to gather intel from the Academy.
The message is written in Thieve's Cant.
Knowledge is power, his boss always says. And that is the trade of the Alba Crows. So Eric expects that he won't mind his disappearance and instead find it of interest for their business.

Ok, I've just made this up because it didn't fit my backstory just to disappear haha Hope this is fine by you, ShieldHero.
After this, I'm ready to just appear in the tavern whenever you want, guys!
"Ahh full of questions aren't all of you? You may study the scrolls as long as they are still in the same condition afterwards. Than you may turn them in afterwards. Is that all..? If so I will be eagerly awaiting you're return"

That works ^^ Alba is a bit of a boat ride from here though so the boss may take a bit to get the letter but other than that it's perfectly fine ^^
As members of the ragtag team begin to disperse, Mood also takes his leave, shooting a smile and a nod at Briggid. "Fare thee well, feathered friend... I hope we have the opportunity to convene again!"
The hexblood ambles back in the direction of the Flickering Ember, ascends the perilously unsturdy staircase to his second-floor suite and begins to pack his belongings... he still feels a pang of doubt when pondering on the task at hand, but it is overshadowed by excitement.
Goramar nods back as a mean of thanks and joins with his newfound companions to read the contract. Not seeing anything excessive, he carefully grabs a quill to add his full name, Goramar Osotsk, on it.
"Equipment and supplies' a sound idea. Got a bit of that myself, but I'd be lean on making an inventory when we get to the inn. And an idea of what you all can do. I'll check a few shops and join later."
He makes his way out of the Academy, looking first of all for a blacksmith.

The group all spends their time in different ways, either shopping for new weapons are looking for rumors. Maybe even making a few reports of their own. As the time comes the group all meets back at the city gates with map in hand ready to venture forward. Eclaire speaks up a bit as she tries to look at whoever may be holding the map.
"How far is it again?"
Eclaire stood returning beside Tala, looking outward seeing a long winding road that lead many ways it seems the map had led into some kinda jungle.
OOC So go ahead and let know the formation they will
And it is 14 miles away as a reminder here you go below ^^
For every hour past 8 hours traveled con saves are made to avoid exhaustion levels.
So travel normal pace for 10 hours and you'd have to make 2 con saves. Traveling fast surprisingly doesn't exhaust faster but will hurt you're passive wisdom by 5.
Also before you guys start the journey feel free to handle any business/shopping/backstory stuff in town. If you want it private and unknown you can PM/DM me and we can roleplay it one on one if you wanna be sneaky. But if it's something you don't mind as public knowledge you can post here instead ^^
At the response from Briggid, Ellaria says, "I find a healthy dose of curiosity often leads to the most interesting discoveries. Hopefully this curiosity will prove fruitful."
Ellaria signs the contract and hands it over. At the dispersal of the group, Ellaria will immediately head to the tavern and settle in to relax as she awaits the rest of the groups return.
-
As the group makes their way to exit the front gates Ellaria turns slightly to Eclaire at the question, "It is about 14 miles from here according to this." She gestures to the map.
"The real question is do we think getting there quickly is important. I think we would be best served by traveling normally it should only take us about four and half hours." Ellaria says doing some quick math in her head.
OOC
What time of day is it? Would we arrive after nightfall?
- It think we can go at a normal pace, yes. Better not to tire ourselves unnecesary and reach the ruis with our full strenght.
Eric tales his position at the end of the group for the moment. When they reach the ruins he will move to the front of the group so he can help find and deactivate possible traps.
Mood glances up from the map as Ellaria speaks. A dangerous mantra to live by… he muses to himself, adjusting the straps on his satchel. It had been a rather uneventful few hours - while the others had kept busy running errands and procuring supplies, the hexblood had taken respite from such mundane anxieties, confident in the knowledge that his current itinerary would provide everything necessary to face the coming hardships. Food, a coat and a spellbook were all he had ever required, it seems… for how can a man who hardly knows himself come to desire anything non-rudimentary? Personalized possessions require an understanding of one’s own personality, and Mood understands… nothing.
“If the road is truly fourteen miles in length, I suggest we pick up the pace” he remarks, and you can hear a faint Sylvan tint to his otherwise locationless accent (what we narrators may consider a Welsh inflection).
Fully packed, Goramar rejoined with the rest of them, in fact slightly in advance compared to the convened time. He nods to Ellaria and Eric's words, but slightly tilts his head at Mood's words. Observing him, he wonders just how wild or carefree his newfound companions can be; and from which unfamiliar places some of them just come from. Unfortunately, the Half-Orc was not one for leadership so he would have to hope there can be relied on when the right time comes.
"The first miles should be fine. The further we go though, the more dangerous it gets so let's not be hasty. I say if we're slowed down we take the time to camp. Ruins ain't going nowhere anyway."
He only regretted not having the time to study the best route and what the wildlife was before leaving. Adjusting his backpack on his shoulders, he took one more look at the map before getting readied.
OOC :
Goramar would take the front, or second to it if someone insists otherwise.
I think we can skip the roleplay for this shopping session. Also maybe I will be a bit annoying but that's part of the character haha soo I have a "small" shopping list, do you go by the prices of the PHB ? If so I can do the calculus myself.

Back from checking on a few things Tala looks relieved to be on the journey finally. She listen to her companions agree to set a normal pace to conserve energy. A decision she agree’s with. As the city starts to fade from view she takes a look back at the city a habit that has become a staple in her life.

Eclaire takes a step right beside Tala, looking back at Eric and Ram before looking forward again. She seemed okay with traveling at a steady pace not too quick not too slow either for that case. Though had Mood implied he'd rather go faster? She was surprised he seemed so.. Cautious by appearance. Ram (Goramar but he hasn't introduced himself as such yet.) seemed more cautious than she'd expect for a person.. Of his size.
The group had begun to walk on the paved road, though as Ram had stated they would not be paved for long. Slowly turning into a more.. Woodland area with wildlife and plains to see for miles. It wasn't quite a jungle but slowly the pavement gave way to wildlife. A few deer could be seen grazing on some grass. In the distance was a lion and his pride of lioness but they appeared lazy and calm. Perhaps they had already hunted for the day? Eyeing the party with no more than a passing curiosity. The sunlight was warm and the winds were soft and calming almost as if a gentle whisper. It was almost as if today's weather was beckoning our intrepid explorers today. Eclaire took a deep breath taking it all in. Spinning around in the plains for a bit before spying a bed of flowers and other plants. She had rushed forward grabbing a small yellow flower before coming back up to Tala. She had handed the flower to the small goblin girl with a soft yet determined nod.

Tala surprised at Eclaire’s act of kindness is stunned for a moment. Her life has not been one where she has often been treated as such. Composing herself she thanks Eclaire and puts in her hair pinned by her ear. Giving Eclaire a hug afterward. She then takes the map and says to the party.
“I’m pretty good at this so I don’t mind navagating as long as no one objects.”

Ellaria will spend her first part of this journey observing her new companions. She takes particular notice of the Eclaire and Tala interaction making sure to remember both reactions. Ellaria also pointedly ignores Moods wish to move quicker, especially seeing the rest of the group agree with her pacing.
She is not much for navigating forward, but will spend some of her time memorizing the directions they take along the journey.
Eclaire steps her heels behind Tala offering a gentle wave with her slender fingers.
"May I join you?"
Tala smiles excitedly.
”Sure can! I could use the company!”
Ellaria looks over the contract and looks up appreciatively at Tala's questions.
