((Alright, so if I understand things right, Kathra, Mirabel, and Peren are going to investigate the Temple while Gavin and Thont go to the Manor House?))

((In that case I'm going to start with the ruins expedition. If Gavin wants to tag along then we can assume he and Thont do that. If not I'll put up a thing for you two next.))

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
Let’s all stick together for now and head to the ruins to take a gander. I am not a good investigator so I will leave that to the more qualified and just observe until we head to speak with the Elder
*Glad to hear Thont isn’t a lightweight (and feeling better)) as that would be kinda weird for a Goliath ;)
Heading out of the Davy Lamp, you head up the street and then cut left towards the hill overlooking Refuge where the remains of the Temple of Lliira still rest. As you crest the hill you see there are two men working to right a section of broken wall that has fallen over while a third man picks through the rubble and seems to be sorting out what can be salvaged into a few piles on blankets nearby.
Kathra nods a greeting at the three men and begins her own investigation of the wreckage, walking around the perimeter and looking for anything that seems out of place - a holy symbol that doesn't belong or some other object that could be used as a catalyst. Her knowledge of the arcane is not particularly vast, but she has learned to be observant of things that are out of place.
Gavin greets the workers, let’s them know they are looking into the incident and asks if they have found anything unusual while sitting through the rubble
You both begin digging through the rubble in earnest, hoping something odd or out of the ordinary catches your eye. As you help each-other lift a broken stone table out from under a pile of broken beams and other refuse, a strange glint catches your eye. Tossing the table aside and brushing away some of the trash and dust below, you find a strange palm sized metal disk, dark gray in color, with glittery silver etchings forming a strange design on one side.
Example of the design:
The disk is unusually warm to the touch and your pretty sure you'll need someone who understands arcane symbols or religious iconography to explain what the symbol on the front means.
For Mirabel:
While checking some of the inner wreckage with your mystical senses, you are drawn to a patch of garbage near a ruined window. You notice that there is some sort of glittery dust that sparkles faintly with an inner light that you don't think should be there.
For Gavin:
The workers greet you and offer to show you what they've exhumed so far. Mostly it is stuff you'd expect to find in a temple; embroidered drapes, religious icons, ritual implements and the like. As the conversation turns to the two victims, the men tell you that the priestess, Aria, was buried just yesterday, as is the custom of the church, however, the body of Tommin is still being examined at Nana Ironeye's hut behind the Manor House.
For Thont:
Applied physics was never your strong suit. At the very least you're pretty sure that the blast came from some arc directly overhead instead of straight on from the ground level.

Kathra nods in agreement. "Best we not touch it too much. I don't like the look of it." She stands up and calls over to the dragonborn. "Mirabel! We have need of your particular skills. Something suspicious over here that seems like a magical thing."
He thanks the workers for their time and tells them the Band of the Hand will do what we can to help. Gavin shares his conversation w the others and says we should ask the Elder for permission to speak with Nana Ironeye and see the halfling’s body to see if anything unusual is found. I wait for everyone else to be done and suggest we head to the manor right away to speak with the elder.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Thont nods to Gavin, then does one last look around the temple. Is there an obvious graveyard or crypt area? Such as where Aria would have been buried?
Perception: 22

((I'm cool with that, so Gavin doesn't go alone.))
Peren suggests we all stick together and go to the ruins
we are not sure what we may find there
((I believe so, unless Gavin and Thont want to follow us to the ruins first))

((Sounds like everyone to the ruins then!))

Investigation: 19
((Awwwwww yissssssss))
Peren will also walk up to the ruins and investigate
Investigation - 18
((that is better))
Mirabel begins walking toward what appears to be the epicenter of the destruction, searching for anything that might hint at what happened.
((Dunno if this would be investigation or arcana so here are rolls for both))
Investigation: 12
Arcana: 14
((Looking good so far. As soon as the other two get in with an action I'll dole out the goodies.))
Gavin greets the workers, let’s them know they are looking into the incident and asks if they have found anything unusual while sitting through the rubble
Thont looks up at what would have been / would have to be the trajectory of the beam or whatever it was, trying to match it with the damage.
Perception: 6
((LOL goodness, and that's with a +4...))

Peren ask Kathra “should we have Mirabel look at this?” It may be some sort of magical symbol
