As the last two disks are swapped and placed, the familiar hum of power and arcing prismatic electrical display surges to life once more. Instead of exploding this time, in a shower of singing death, the energy circuit holds true, with each disk beginning to radiate at a harmonious frequency. As this production of color and sound goes on, you notice that the gems in the black ice seem to be radiating a warm magical power that appears to be melting the block of ice completely, leaving behind a hidden cubbyhole. As the device powers down, you see that the gems, which you thought were embedded in the missing ice, were in fact suspending on filament wires, almost as thin and delicate as spider-silk. Now they remain, forming a sort of gem-beaded curtain between you and whatever lies inside the hidden storage compartment.
Inside the hole there appears to be a pile of damp, but rapidly drying gold coins (about 300gp worth), a rather beautifully crafted silver mirror (about 75gp value), and a set of five scroll tubes.

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
"Looks like this was some kind of fancy wall safe." Kathra says, relaying the contents to her companions. "Might want to be careful sticking your hand in, though."
Rhudall seems fine enough. He's got some minor injuries from where the energy arc burned into him, but you thing his incredible bulk managed to shield him from real danger.

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
There are five spell scrolls here. They contain the following spells, all written in the same silvery circular script as the scrolls you already posses:
Gavin gives the loot to Thont to hold onto. “We can split this up later, why don’t you store it away for safe keeping until then.”
So what’s our next move? Prepare to fight the dragon, who is likely responsible for the temple destruction or take Rhudall around to the lair and observatory? Or something else?
((I would suggest we have another long rest before fighting that dragon as I will use most of my spells, if not all, healing us. I would like to use some for offense in a big fight))
Nothing new in this room appears to be magical, short of the scrolls. Rhudall and his gear are about as plainly non-magical as they come.
((As an aside, as noted earlier, the spell scrolls that you find in this place are all considered spell list agnostic, so both Mirabel and Gavin can use them regardless if their spells are on Sorcerer or Cleric spells lists or not.))
Rhudall slowly picks himself up off the floor as well. He's a bit singed, but otherwise alive. "Wala russ!"
Peren picks himself up and says “well if only two fell out we know how they should go now”
"Sure, what he said."
Mirabel dusts himself off and switches the position of the two discs that were ejected from the console.
"Hope it works this time."

Kathra peers into the hole, trying to see beyond the gem-based curtain.
Investigation: 6
For Kathra:
Inside the hole there appears to be a pile of damp, but rapidly drying gold coins (about 300gp worth), a rather beautifully crafted silver mirror (about 75gp value), and a set of five scroll tubes.
"Looks like this was some kind of fancy wall safe." Kathra says, relaying the contents to her companions. "Might want to be careful sticking your hand in, though."
"Are those more scrolls? Lovely!"
Mirabel checks for any traps or magical wards that might be around before reaching in.
Arcana: 5
Investigation: 2
For Mirabel:
It seems safe. Whatever mystical energy that was coursing through this device earlier seems to have gone dormant.
Thont occasionally quivers with PTSD and let’s the searchers search - but checks our new Walrus friend to see if he’a alright or his reaction
For Thont:
Rhudall seems fine enough. He's got some minor injuries from where the energy arc burned into him, but you thing his incredible bulk managed to shield him from real danger.
Mirabel removes the scrolls from the vault and inspects them.
For Mirabel:
There are five spell scrolls here. They contain the following spells, all written in the same silvery circular script as the scrolls you already posses:
Gavin will reach in and remove the rest of the items (gold and mirror). I will take 10 min to cast detect magic (ritual version) on the mirror.
For Gavin:
The mirror is very pretty with interesting constellation designs etched into the edges of the glass in silvery script, but is otherwise non-magical.
((Since I have detect magic going I will look around just to make sure nothing was missed earlier, including Rhudall))
Long rest sounds good, We have all taken damage
((good job on the puzzle, sorry I could not help from my phone))
For Gavin:
Nothing new in this room appears to be magical, short of the scrolls. Rhudall and his gear are about as plainly non-magical as they come.
((As an aside, as noted earlier, the spell scrolls that you find in this place are all considered spell list agnostic, so both Mirabel and Gavin can use them regardless if their spells are on Sorcerer or Cleric spells lists or not.))
((I did not catch that earlier, thank you. I will have to see if Maribel will part w 1or 2 of them later once I get a chance to review them.))
