The body seems to be encrusted in some sort of dried-out mold or fungus. While you are not immediately familiar with the specific species, it looks like the sort that might certainly be transmittable vie close proximity, too much touching, or handling of contaminated items.

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hmmm...Well we need the discs so I will tell everyone to back out of the room. Once everyone is out I will grab whatever she is holding in her hand as well as the necklace with sapphire but using sleight of hand for that
With a few quick swipes you grab the leather cords holding the two metal disks and the silver chain with the sapphire. You notice a bit of the flaky blue crust inside the silver chain, but it brushes off mostly harmlessly.
You now have that seems to be the last two pieces of the Altar Room puzzle.
((From what I have tracked, we have 6 discs and the here are 7 blank spots on the puzzle. Can someone in the party check me on that please))
Ok I cover the body back up, leave the room and close the door. I hand the discs to Maribel ((after making sure I’ve dusted them off in the room)) “Here you go Maribel, hopefully these will help. Maybe he can assist with that contraption when we are ready so no one else gets a little surprise.” as he gives Kathra a little smile
((My records show that I have handed out all seven disks with the eighth disk being in the puzzle already. I'll post them and the puzzle when you guys are ready to tackle it.))

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
((Ok I found the one I was missing which was from the dead halfling. I was hoping we weren’t going to have to go all the way back to Refuge and dig up a dead priestess’ grave))
I am open to what we want to do next. Set a trap for the dragon or work the puzzle and possibly go on a one way trip somewhere. Or something else?
While I am waiting for everyone I will pray to Tempus and cast ritual version of detect magic to see if the necklace radiates any arcane energy
I let the group know that I found a necklace on the body and am thinking of returning it to Rhudall.”He has lost so much already, I’m thinking of giving it to him to show we are not just some evil grave robbers.”
Peren likes Gavin’s idea to ask Rhudall if he would like to have the necklace, we need to make sure we keep him on our side for now Who knows what else we may run into and Rhudall could possible help us with the puzzle room
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
((Sorry, catching up today - real life is being annoying what with all this, "work" business.))
Thont likes the neckless to Rhudall idea as well, and also offers to give last rites (of sorts, from a distance).
Can I also see what the actual mechanism is for opening/shutting the secret door? Thinking it may give some further detail/ideas to the dexterity of the actual creator of this place - and similar clues to look for later. ((As you can probably tell by now, I'm trying to lean-in to Thont's want to understand culture / behavior - but with his more practical eye.))
You can see that the secret door seems hinged on a sliding stone mechanism. How it actually works, however, is beyond you.
For the party:
You ascend the steps in the Altar Room to once again gaze upon the strange block of black ice that glows with a soft inner light from the twinkling of several small gemstones embedded within it like a field of stars in the night's sky. Laying out the seven metal disks embossed with silvered lunar symbology, you look to the circular niches set around the frozen block.
((Here is the puzzle:
Here are the symbols you have acquired:
Feel free to discuss where and how you want to place these. When you are ready to give a final answer, make a post that has a number by each of the seven icons so I know where you want them to go and I will let you know what happens. I will, of course, answer any questions I can.))

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
As the group arrives at the puzzle, Gavin takes one of Rhudalls hands and places the necklace in it. He gives a sorrowful smile, a slight bow and closes the walrus hand around the necklace and takes a half step back. “I am truly sorry for your friends, I hope this will give you fond memories of them for many years to come.”
((I imagine from what one of us said many posts ago that these represent the lunar cycle, but I am unsure which way it goes. Showing the discs to Rhudall may be easiest if he knows how it works))
Rhudall accepts your gift, and though you are not sure if he comprehends your words, you can feel he understands your sentiment.
When you show Rhudall the disks, he mumbles slightly in his walrus-tongue, looking from them to the wall, his whiskers twitching a bit, before giving a slight shrug. You get the feeling that his carrier path was more about putting axes into astral monstrosities than exploring the mysteries of the cosmos.
((As an aside, I'm pretty sure that it was back in town where you learned from Nana Ironeye that the first symbol you found represented the waning of the three quarters moon from full to new, if that helps. The symbols are currently listed in the order that you found them with the first being the one you got in town.))

Gavin did not do well and needs to make a Con save.

I will go ahead and search the room before leaving seeing if there is anything of value.
Perception w guidance: 22
((Actually should be 27 w my +5 perception bonus I forgot to add))
For Gavin:
There doesn't seem to be anything else of value in this room. What food is left on the racks is months old and spoiled.

"Let's see what we can do with these discs now that we've got all of them. Maybe we'll find something that will help us fight this... Jokun."
The necklace is non-magical, but likely holds moderate monetary value.
