Taking a deep breath, not wanting to let these snakes get the better of her, she attacks one again with her trident. Going for the closest one and then trying to step away as far as she can from the other one.
Avaria strikes out with her trident again, impaling one of the remaining two snakes. It wiggles for a moment on the end of her trident before going limp, hanging dead next to the snake already hanging dead from one of the prongs.
The last snake hisses as Avaria skirts around the side of the platform, keeping wary watch.

Marrin scrambles up the pole and catches sight of the last snake. It coils up getting ready to strike when the snide remarks reach its primitive ears. Not understanding the words but clearly understanding the intent, the snake collapses, losing the will to live. The platform now only holds five dead snakes.
Jan slashes out with her first blow, causing the zombie to collapse, but a moment later it's back and rising again. However, the second blow also connects and this time there's just too much damage for the diminutive goblin zombie to overcome. It collapses again and this time it stays down.
Ula and Hammerdasher both take a breath and circle warily around the base of the platform, looking for what might come next.
The crowd cheers the death of the last zombie. As those cheers subside, another round start up, but you're not sure why.
With you looking around to see what the source of the news cheers are, Marrin finds out first. A strong hand grabs hold of her leg and pulls hard. When she looks down, she sees a wide awake Festan with his hand on her leg. Behind him, the other hobgoblin rises to his feet.

Like burning eggs in a skillet, Ethel had allowed herself to become momentarily distracted, and now the sleep spell has expired and the hobgoblins are back in the fight. Too late to help that.
Seeing Marrin under assault, she bristles. "Hey! Forget about that tower," she hollers at Festan. "Your friends are all down here!" She waves a hand at the [unconscious? dead? Ethel wasn't close enough to get a good look before] hobgoblins lying on the sand.

From Jan's angle, she has trouble lining up Festan on the first platform. The hobgoblin leader is standing and grabbing hold of Marrin, and being that close to the center of the platform is providing some partial cover. Jan can't make out much more than the ears of the other hobgoblin as they're still rising to their feet.
Jan crackling bolt of energy flies wide of its target and careens off into the viewing area. At first it looks like it might head towards Godrick, and you can make out his hand beginning to move, but it immediately becomes clear it will go wide of him as well.
A back bench cracks apart, followed by cheers and laughter from the crowd.
Avaria, not yet noticing that Marrin has attracted Festan's attention, looks up to the next platform, where the flag is. The same pole provides a guide through the middle of the platform. Above where Marrin and Avaria have climbed it appears greasy and oily. The platform edge is about 12' above the other platform.

Breathing hard after her tussle with the poisonous snakes, she rubs the end of the trident against the edge of the platform to get the snakes off the points of her weapon. As she does, she sees Jan's magic bolt go wild and the responding cheers from it.
Still not knowing why, she smiles at her friends aptitudes and looks to the next platform, keeping her goal in mind. The rage subsides as she looks at this new pole, frustratingly also covered in goop to make the climb all that more difficult. She stands as close to it as possible, squats down to get a good jumping start on it, then springboards at the pole, attempting to climb paw over paw up the pole to the next platform.
Avaria, leaps upwards and almost immediately starts to slowly slip back down the pole. She tries to pause her slide with her sharp claws, and for a moment it looks like it will work but she begins sliding again.
Avaria can choose to keep sliding down and into Marrin or she can leap off to the safety of the second platform and it's plethora of snake carcasses.
Festan tugs heavily at Marrin's leg but pauses and shakes his head when he thinks he hears something. He paws at his ear, letting go of Marrin. Festan falls backward, slaming his head into the edge of the platform below. He careens off that platform and down the hole to the ground below, landing with a heavy thud next to Adelysia. She shrieks and stabs out with her spear, missing the body of the hobgoblin and piercing the sand.
The crowd holds its collective breath for a moment. There's no movement from Festan at all.

The other hobgoblin finally gets to his feet in time to watch his leader plummet to the ground below. He hesitates for only the briefest of moments before slashing out at the only one near him. He jabs his sword quickly at Marrin.

Festan doesn’t look like he will come down but Ethel’s words are distracting enough that they are likely to provide some help to Marrin.
Jan stows a knife and flings a hand and subsequent bolt of energy at Festan.

Marrin will slide down to look at Festan.
"Awake again? Great."
She opens her mouth like she is going to continue but instead Festan only hears a mess of, whatever he thinks is, horrible discordant whispers.
She casts dissonant whispers (DC 14 Wis save). On fail he needs to use his reaction to flee and full damage: 12
