“Brilliant, Jan!” Ethel calls out as the abandons her rope trick, seeing as Avaria got the hatch open. “Now let’s get topside, fast.”
Ethel joins the queue waiting to climb the ladder.

Avaria doesn't understand what Jan means, but agrees. Then grins when her friend disappears into the ring with the chest. "Gotcha Jan." she whispers to the ring and puts it on, making sure it is good and secure.
She continues through the trap door that she demolished and starts heading for the deck if nothing stops her in the meantime. She calls over her shoulder, "Ethel, you making it alright?"
With the impact of waves hitting the ship, each climbing the ladder to the next floor needs to give an athletics check or acrobatics check. Jan can ride it out for free, though her inner sanctum may be getting tousled a little.
Ava manages to hold on during another wave hit and gets herself and Jan-in-the-ring up to the next deck. She finds herself in the familiar room where they battled ghouls who hacked a hole in the wall. A stairway leads up to the next deck (the same stairway they came down) and a doorway heads back into the hallway where they fought the shadows, et al.
Ethel clings to the ladder as best she can. Her strength, sapped by the shadows, threatens repeatedly to fail her. Instead of relying on it, she tries to time the waves instead, relying on balance to keep from losing her grip and falling.

((I think the gravity within her ring would be unaffected by the ring's orientation, but she's irritated that she and the chest are dripping stinky bilge water all over her cushions and rugs.))
Jan's listening for Ava or one of the others to call her back out if she's needed, she considers changing out of her wet clothes, but if she's needed anytime before they get back to the Wish, she's just going to get wet again. She at least clears up some of the dirty water while she waits.

A strong desire to not drown on an undead infested shipwreck allows Ethel to muster the strength to hang on to the ladder and get herself up next to Ava.
Ula starts to climb, but something bumps the hull near where the group is and she's knocked back down into the water. She'll be behind the others.
With Marrin's encouragement, Ula flies up the ladder this time, holding on tight as another wave rocks the ship and even more water begins pouring into the hold.
Marrin follows quickly after, having to almost dance up the last rungs to avoid losing her balance and splashing back down.
The whole party is now collected on the middle deck.
Another roaring screeching cry echoes inside the ship, but now that you're up a level the group can tell that it seems to start loud and then quiet down but not because the volume was diminished; more like something moving quickly past the side of the ship.
Ethel hobbles up the nearby stairs to the top deck, bracing herself for whatever cyclopean horror was circling the ship.

The group make it up the stairs to the aft cabin that was once the captain's cabin, which was the first cabin the party entered after getting on board.
It's still a mess and the door swings open and shut as the ship rocks in the waves. On one partial opening of the door, Ula and Avaria are able to see at least two shapes fly fast through the mist on either side of the ship.
The smell of the harsh gas from earlier is stronger up here.
A loud creaking can be hear from the bow as the mast there cracks and begins to splinter.
----------------------------------------
Athletics or Acrobatics rolls to move through the doorway and out onto the deck without being knocked prone (DC12).
"Out! Time to get out. If we can quickly grab the box, okay but otherwise..."
She looks around at the dark walls and is ready to move.
"I can take the box into my ring. Ava, can you carry my ring out of here? I can always pop back if you need me, just call for me!"
If Ava is agreement, Jan will have her shifter friend take her ring before lifting the chest enough to be able to shunt it and herself into the ring.

Marrin will call after Ethel,
"More spry than I thought! Keep going!"
She then turns and extends a hand to Ula,
"You got this, you're the most sea worthy of us all!"
Bardic inspiration to Ethel and Ula.
((Or just Ula this round and Ethel next, if we are in rounds.))
Once Ula is up and moving Marrin will head up to receive her, maybe.

Marrin may have become distracted offering help to the others as she slips back down into the water next to Ula (DC 15 on this first ladder).
-----------------------------------------------
A very acrid odour seeps through the cracks in the sides of the ship. It's enough to make eyes water but no serious side effects yet.
Even though they are both wet from falling into the water, both Ula and Marrin notice the water has risen a few inches.
-----------------------------------------------
The party can go again - Avaria (w Jan), and Ethel are up on the middle deck. Marrin and Ula are on the lower deck in rising water.
Marrin looks over to Ula with the noticably deeper water around her.
"Go!"
Was Ula has, hopefully scrambled up, she'll follow.

Avaria talks to the ring, "We're up the ladder and about to go up to the top deck to see what is hitting the ship if you want to come out."
