The warden nods and gives the group a smile before leaving the mess hall. The group of 'dwarves' and Ethel find themselves suddenly alone in the mess hall as the guards have now all gone about their day, the Councillors are packing to leave, and the warden has left.
Wait for the warden to return? Wander the prison and check out any areas of interest?

Avaria leads the way across the panopticon until the group is standing in front of one of the cells.
A gaunt, wiry, elf watches Avaria from inside the cell. She brushes dark green, almost black, hair from her face.
"You need to let them know you're ready," Ishar, the elf, says to Avaria, nodding her head back to the central surveillance hub.
"You must be Ishar." Ava responds to the gaunt looking elf. But then turns towards the central surveillance hub and nods. She hopes that will be enough, she didn't know if there was a signal they were supposed to do, and glances over at Jan or Soren to see if they caught it.
The group can head around the hexagon hallways if they like. The closest areas are a guardsroom and the stables, with an entrance to the outside. Moving along the hallway they can hear some movement in the stables and can see the door to the guardroom is open and voices can be heard from within. The heavy iron door that leads to the plateau behind the prison is unmanned.
TEAM GUARD
Avaria's nod does the trick and you can see a shimmer in the air then the audible click of a lock being opened.
Ishar pushes the door to her cell open then steps out, waiting patiently. She then nods that two of you should go in front of and two go in behind her.
From memory, Geffroi is able to lead off and retrace the steps to the courtyard.
Once outside, the air almost freezes in your noses and lungs. It's a shock after the warmth of the prison. The main force of the wind is blocked by the prison walls, but small gusts still swirl about the courtyard, pusing drifts of snow up into the corners.
Ishar stomps her feet a couple of times, holds her arms across her chest and starts walking along the path.
The group can see signs of movement inside the guard tower at the far side of the courtyard.
Marta/Marrin spots three guards in the guardroom playing a game of cards. One of them does spot Marta looking in but only nods in reply.
In the stable there are two junior guards who look to be sweeping out stalls and moving a few bales of dry hay around. They don't notice Marta.
Best she can tell, the door is locked from the inside - a bar crossing over the entry but also a large key lock in the door itself.
---------------------------------------------
There look to be two guards in the guard tower, moving from window to window, peering out, looking away from the prison.
In the courtyard itself, there are only the four of the guard team (Jan, Avaria, Soren and Geffroi) plus Ishar. Other than the guard tower at the other side of the courtyard, the only way out is to either climb the wall or use the entrance everyone just came through. As such there's no real requirement that guards walk with Ishar. But also, there's no reason they can't.
Jan will make eye contact with Ava and jerk a head towards Ishar, following at a bit of a distance, but close enough that if they do the same with Korda that they'd be able to speak to her without needing to raise their voices, and so anyone observing their route now won't find it odd that they approach her and not Ishar.

Marta gives small of her head,
"That would be most appreciated."
Avaria nods at this information and can't stop thinking about it as they move out. She might have to ask the prisoner about it...

Marta would wave for the rest to start doing a self tour of the prison,
"Best to be familiar with the layout, just in case."

((If that signal won't suffice, is it something Jan would have caught?))

Marta pokes her head into the guardroom, looks around briefly and then nods to the guards before heading on and doing the same in the stables.
At the door she looks to see if it is locked and how.
Investigation?: 13
If she can't tell she'll find a passing guard patrol and ask it is locked, and if not, why it isn't locked.
((Does the guard stand at a post while they walk the path, or do they walk with the prisoner?))
Jan peers at the far tower, to see if she can make anything out.
