Solomona, Jan, Jarrin/Marrin all posed to act. Avaria savagely strikes out at the nearest guard, one who had already been blasted twice by Marrin, and nearly brings an end to him. But he clings stubbornly to life still. And Vonth looms large and deathly quiet in the hallways behind Solomona.
Solomona tries the door directly east, and looks inside. If there's any food, he inspects further. Otherwise, he leaves it open and turns to attempt the door to the kitchen.
If successful, he walks inside and greets the combatants, suggesting that there are better alternatives to fighting:
Hey fullahs. What's with all the fuss? Make lunch, not war, eh?
-----------------------------------------------
Happy to use an action if required, to open the kitchen door. Otherwise, if Sol still has an action, let me know and he can 'subdue' the nearest black-clad soldier.
Leaving the other door open for Vonth's convenience, in case it's an Armory, like it says on the map you posted. :)

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
Solomona has no trouble opening the door on the eastern wall.
Quickly looking inside, the monk is quite confident in saying this is an armory. The walls are lined with racks of weapons from heavy pole arms to swords, of different sizes. Crossbows, both heavy and light hang from other racks. Chests and crates fill the middle of the room. Shields and various armor, in varying states of repair and disrepair fill one corner.
It's all there for the examining and taking.
Except for one catch. The room is not unoccupied.
Solomona sees, floating in the middle of the room, a spherical creature with a large central eye and four writhing eyestalks. Two eyestalks appear to be looking around at the different equipment present. One stalk whips around to look at Solomona when the door opens. The creature looks carefully at the monk and then down at the floor, apparently at Solomona's feet.
The creature begins floating towards the doorway.

Assuming Solomona continues on to the door to the kitchen - DC 10 to open the door. While it's not locked someone, of middling strength, is trying to hold it closed on the other side (10 or higher and he can go on in).
Is Vonth going into the armory?
THE KITCHEN:
Geoffroi holds the door closed to the best of his ability. Writing a strongly worded and highly convincing letter to anyone trying to open it would likely do more to keep it closed but he's willing to use his limited strength to try and do the job.
After hearing Marrin/Jarrin's taunt, the guard looks down at his armor and winces. A little blood oozes from his nose. He looks back at Marrin/Jarrin and points to the emblem on the armor. "There's red too."
He then crumples to the ground, dead.
The three remain guards form up in a slight wedge formation. Two face towards Avaria, and the third towards Soren. Two sword thrusts slash out at the half-elven Bard but he dances to the side on both, escaping harm.
The other two guards, seeing Avaria as their main threat focus on the barbarian. They both whirl their longswords quickly, and expertly, three blows catching the shifter. (Nat 20 to hit for 8, 21 to hit for 11, 19 to hit for 11 - all damage is slashing and halved by her rage for a total of 15) the fourth strike goes wide.
Hammerdasher moves around Soren, trying to get behind the three soldiers, but then he curses, as he spots three more soldiers coming through the door, followed by a lot more smoke. Whatever fire is causing the smoke, it's getting larger.
Hammerdasher instead throws his frying pan at the trio but the balance isn't there and after watching it wobble through the air, it slams into the wall behind the new soldiers.
Soren retaliates against the soldier who attacked him, stabbing out with his longsword. Unfortunately he raises it too high and it gets caught in several pots hanging by hooks from the ceiling.
Ula, still weakened by the fighting, turns and makes her way back towards the doorway, knowing her strength would be enough to keep the door closed against almost anyone. As she goes, she holds the amulet around her neck and lets one hand move like a wave behind her. Radiant light flashes down from above, enveloping the soldier that Soren just attacked. He yells in pain from the burning.
Avaria and Marrin/Jarrin are up.
THE BARRACKS:
All is still quiet in the barracks. The beds are empty. The lockers, including her's and her fellow 'guard's rest under their bunks near by and there's still no noise from the stairwell down to the surveillance hub. Though, that definitely does not mean the hub is empty. It is at least 100 feet down the spiral staircase to get there.
Jan realizes that if prisoners have escaped and Hargroves are on premises, that it's no time to be indecisive, her friends will be needing her help. She makes sure that K will be able to make it from the barracks down into the main part of the complex before taking a deep breath. She pulls her ring from her finger and holds it out in an outstretched hand, where K settles onto her arm, his invisible limbs passing through her false aarakockra arms to rumple the fabric of her uniform. Reminded, she flicks her form back to match that of Marrin before addressing her familiar.
<K'oshash, stay hidden and avoid any soldiers in black particularly. Find Marrin, Ava, and the others.>
Her elemental's dusty little fingers wrap around the ring, and and she can feel their wings beginning to flap and lighten the weight on her arm as she shunts herself and the ledger into her ring. K takes off, moving invisibly through the prison in search of her companions.
((lmk what sort of checks may be needed?))

((With enough time K' will find everyone in the prison, but how quickly might be a matter of luck - roll a d4 and we'll see what happens. And did Jan, perhaps, decide to grab hers and her pals' equipment from their lockers too and stick that in the ring?))
((Yessss... she knows that bad stuff is going down, my end of semester brain may have glossed over the fact that everyone is stuck with guard issued stuff, but she'd have been aware of the need to grab all the stuff. Arms loaded down with gear, she is whisked into the ring...))

"Not sure prisoners is a good option either Geff. Do what you can."
She then turns to the soldier on his last legs and calls,
"You really thought you could pull off the black on black look? With your complexion?"
