Despite noticing the human and the kobold at the bottom of the stairs, Zalten doesn't pay much attention to them, not realizing how much they stand out compared to the townsfolk below. Outside now in the twilight, he feels his discomfort and dread return to him, deeply uncomfortable with the lack of light in the area and feeling even more distant from his god. Touching one of the rings on his fingers, he casts Light, one of the few pieces of magic he has remaining. The light eminating from the ring matches the orange and red tones of its surroundings, though brighter. The glow of the light gives him a moment of peace and comfort in this land that is otherwise mostly deviod of it. He then ends the spell, putting out the light in the hopes this brief moment of comfort wasn't too noticeable, though he knows the small area of bright light likely stuck out to at least some extent
"A bridge," Rethan says flatly to Fiora. "Over the River of Darkness. Isn't this just going to be a memorable trip. What kind of monsters can we expect in the charted areas?"
OOC: Sadly i have a busy life, so i can post, at most, twice a day. one before work, and once after. And I work 2nd, so... I'm at work most of the time everyone else is posting.
As for the intimidation check between players I wasn't saying 'WE DIDNT AGREE!' etc it was more of an "I wasnt sure how to handle it so i looked up how people generally ruled on it until i found one that made sense and wasn't arguing semantics. I have a +6 save but only a +3 to intimidation. I assumed the save would make more sense than the +3 since intimidation is generally used to cow or otherwise frighten someone into doing something, though obvious outliers exist, i'm generalizing for the sake of time.
As such, being intimidated could be seen as a 'debuff' like slow, therefore i was 'saving' myself from the debuff. But before I could post, I had to see if i suceeded or failed, as.. if i failed, she wouldn't just get up and puff out her (non existant) chest since it wouldn't make sense for someone succumbing to intimidation, to immediately intimidate back.
Kashika exhaled from her nose, the cogs of her mind working for a moment before deciding it wasn't worth explaining. He was simultaneously wrong and right in his guesses -namely in the specifics- but if this conclusion was what led him to not bothering her at-least in this regard ... she would take it. She only responded to one thing, and that was his question of whether they yet lived or not, ad his assumption of her flight; Many of them do. And many of them d-don't. And I did not run until the b-battle was clearly lost. If I had stayed even two breaths l-longer, I wouldn't be h-here. If we are to do this, I will do my b-best to keep you and whomever else alive, but I will not sink with the s-s-ship either.

Perception Roll to notice the new champions starting off (remember Tamara is specifically waiting for them): 20
Tamara had been keeping to herself, standing in a shadow thrown by one of the castle's towers to stay inconspicuous, not that her now-grimy yellow robe was spectacular camouflage or anything. She'd been there ever since she saw a fresh group of "champions" get dragged into this place and was mostly just waiting around for them to come out. She was still burning with rage over how Zoran had cheated her out of an opportunity to return home with his last group of champions. Not that, from anything she had heard, Cyra was any better or more upstanding. In the end, they're both just a pair of tyrants, she had since decided. Getting helplessly pushed around was a feeling she had hoped to never experience again, but right now it was necessary to go along with one of them to get out from either of them. And anyway, the thought of getting revenge on Zoran was very, very appealing.
Unfortunately, even vivid fantasies of burning Zoran to cinders or worse weren't enough to keep Tamara from getting bored, so she decided to eavesdrop on the knight and the kobold standing nearby. She rolled her eyes a little at hearing the knight talk about respect for their old comrades... as if any of them had chosen to be dragged into all of this. It was one thing if they were companions you'd chosen and knew well, like she had in her old life, but there was little point in worrying about people you barely knew, who weren't likely to live for much longer, and whose importance mostly boiled down to how effectively they could fight at your side. She nodded slightly when she heard the kobold speak. It was foolish to not give your best in a situation like this, but it was even worse to needlessly let yourself die when the battle was lost and another chance might appear.
"Well put," said Tamara, finally walking over to the pair. "I couldn't have said it any better. My name is Tamara, and I'm pleased to meet you and fight with you," a friendly if fierce smile on her face as she spoke. Turning to the knight, she bowed her head slightly and said, "I look forward to fighting with you as well. You seem... honorable." She fought back a small smile. "Although I should tell you that my own expedition for the crown went similarly to hers, so I'll warn you now that if the fight is lost I'll savemyself."She hoped he wouldn't be offended, as she was simply expressing what she viewed as the only sensible behavior and it was best that they be able to get along if they had to travel together.
"Well then, I wonder if those two down there are with us?"asked Jumble to no one in particular. Moving ahead of the others as they descended the stairs, the young would-be wizard approached the group just as the robed woman finished speaking with them.
"Hello," he began, "I take it you're with us 'champions,' yes? Well, my name's Jumble... bard of lore and literature, at your service!" He twirled his shawm and pointed at the others with it. "That's the rest of us. Haven't had time to get to know them, really... the Queen of Dusk just now assembled us and shoved us out the proverbial--well, literal, really--door!"
He turned back to face the three of them. "So, we're already off to the road through the Twilight then, yes?"
"A bridge," Rethan says flatly to Fiora. "Over the River of Darkness. Isn't this just going to be a memorable trip. What kind of monsters can we expect in the charted areas?"
"L-lots of, um, bugs. Uh, that's what I've heard anyway. Maybe some wolves."
Tamara notices the New Champions as soon as exit the castle. She also notices Florie looking at her, with a strange, yet nervous expression. The young girl starts wringing her hands and her body starts to shake, "Um, Uh, I think i should go now." She says quickly. Turning around to face the door, waiting for them to open again.
"Bugs. Great." Rethan mutters. Then, noticing Florie's sudden nervousness, asks with a gesture towards the three out of place strangers, "Who are they?"
It's completely fine that you have a slower posting rate compared to some of the others. I myself have a pretty inconsistent one. Some days i can post a lot, other barely at all. Just know that i will not move the story along until everyone is ready. I may do some RP, but you won't miss any major plot points.
Yep i totally understand. I also understand how that works mechanically as well. I'm not going to have you redo it or anything. ;) I'm just making a mental note to make sure i pay more attention to what everyone is doing.

"Yes at last let us be off!" Nygil says with...a little more enthusiasm then necessary. Once out of sight of Cyra he regains some of his former...confidence. He looks around, taking in the bleak landscape. "Yes," he says with substantially less excitement. "Lets hurry up so we can leave this god forsaken place."

Nygil steps outside and a slight gust of wind blows some sand into his eyes, nearly causing him to stumble down the stairs.
Utterly unaware of the three outliers amidst the population at the bottom of the stairs...and the stairs too for that matter. Nygil steps off the first step, onto the edge of the second, then falls forwards with a small yelp before doing a summersault and catching himself on the fifth step...mostly sticking the landing, but he has a few bruises on his shoulder...
Straightening his robes, he pretends that nothing happened and continues on his way.
"Well! Lets get going! A few bugs aren't going to scare you off are they?" He shouts back to whoever is left on the staircase.

At the sound of the yelp, Jumble turns in time to see Nygil summersault and catch himself. The bard's eyebrows went up, and he watched with curiosity as the loud elf recovered. "Odd fellow," he thought to himself, without a hint of irony.
Zalten laughs as Nygil trips on the stairs, interally just a bit glad to see the elf taken down a peg after his misguided confidence in the presence of the dragon. Seeing Jumble descend and talk to the human and the kobold at the base of the stairs, Zalten moves to join them, introducing himself.
"I'm Zalten, former aasimar cleric of light. As you can see", he says as he gestures to himself, "that didn't mesh too well with being torn into a realm my god cannot reach. I trust you two are some of those previous champions Cyra was refering to?"

Well Mordred does not notice the figures standing at the top of the stairs. He is to distracted by this kobold.
(The others are still on the stairs right now.)
(Yep, i'll pay more attention to that stuff from now on.)

lol, you read my mind...
Ooc
I can post when I get home from work 8 to 9 hours back to Tamara and our kobold friend
But I have a question did Mordred at least hear or see nygil stumbling even with an 8?
(Lol he might hear him yelp. But we are going to say Nygil tripped after Tamara already saw the group.)
At the sound of the yelp, Jumble turns in time to see Nygil summersault and catch himself. The bard's eyebrows went up, and he watched with curiosity as the loud elf recovered. "Odd fellow," he thought to himself, without a hint of irony.
