With Jumble responding, Kashika wastes no time, as time is a luxury resource at the moment, waiting only for everyone that might be near the tunnel/stairway to move, though as jumble points out it may be a trap or too obvious, she adds in "It's a flip of the c-coin... either it will be, or it wont."
She said, refocusing on the stairwell tunnel before adding in... "And perhaps t that's the point ofnit. To make you question yourself when the p-prize lies before you." This was the least risk-averse Kashika had ever been.. and with an uncharacteristically bold move... she pushes the mage hand with the least time remaining through the entrance. Waiting only long enough to see if something happens.
If nothing does she moves to the edge of the door, using the hands like spider limbs on each stair... and if she didn't have to go in to be in range... the hand with the longest remaining time would head straight for what was either then prize... or an obvious trap.
(Will wait on adjudication at thisnpoint so I don't assume too much)
Rethan wanders aimlessly around the room looking at statues and paintings with no luck until he hears the statue sliding across the floor and the click, then sees the wall slide open. Walking over to see what they found, he gapes as he takes in the wealth of treasures in the room.
Rethan watches, impressed, as Kashika summons 5 magical hands at once. Knowing he can't do much to help what she's doing at the moment, he turns to help Zalten watch the door in case someone comes in, pulling the hand axe from his belt and holding it ready to throw if needed.
(Both doors to the room are closed. The Butler exited through the door he led you through, which was the west door.)
Jumble moves to the west door to listen for footsteps, after a few moments he can hear someone moving around in the other room, however, it's hard to tell if it's a single person, two people, and even if they are walking towards the door. You can't help but think the butler is taking his sweet time.
Zalten thinks he can hear a few voices coming from the south door, however he cannot make out what they are saying. (Rethan can also roll perception)
Kashika's mage hands move across the chamber, pushing on the floor and the walls, even moving a few of the items in the room, however, no traps are set off. While this is suspicious, it does not seem like there is anything in this room that will harm you.
At Kashika's request, Zalten pulls out his crossbow, standing behind her and Jumble and watching their backs. He keeps his bow drawn, remaining focused on where the butler left the room and prepared to shoot at anything obviously hostile that enters, though he has a sneaking suspicion that with the butler having been gone for as long as he has, them finding this room may have been exactly what their host was intending. When he hears voices coming from the south door, he aims his crossbow there, prepared to fire at a moment's notice. As he watches for any incoming threats, he says to Kashika:
"How much can those magical hands lift? Could you remove something from the room without us ever having to go down into there and risk any traps going off? Of course, that would also require us to know which crown is the real one"
Kashikas heart beat quickens. She just barely can hear Zalten speak, responding quickly as the hands have a very limited lifespan.. "Only t-ten pounds each.. give or take. And they only last a minute each"
Split 1: if the hands can reach the pedestal, she will move them to it to try to remove it with only the hands without putting herself through the door.
Split 2: if the hands cannot go there without exceeding their spell range.. she will quickly push in, with two of the hands moving where her feet will go to pre-walk as they push down so thay Kashika isn't the one setting it off, as she moves them no less than 10 feet ahead of her. She will then try to use the hands to move or remove the pedestal. Failing that... she will try to move them herself...
Split 3:
If either happen, and for whatever reason people not of the party enter the room, and she is unable to move to pedestal or gain access to what is inside passively, she will cast a spell at the pedestal to try to destroy it in one last attempt to get at what's inside.
Split 3A: if this fails, and she is still in control of herself... she will have each remaining hand collect a random crown and place it on her backpack, while she herself grabs the two closest weapons.
If possible, her hands will grab one extra set of crowns.. before she bolts out of the chamber.
The spellnshe will cast on thenpedestal thing is... magic missile lvl 1.
(Sorrybfornputting so much but since n I can only post once a day.. I wanted to try to plan for as many outcomes as I could)
Noticing Zalten's interest in the south door, Rethan focuses his attention there as well. With his incredibly keen ears, he is able to make out the words of those talking in the room. By the sound of it, he would guess that they are just servants gossiping.
"Why did the guards bring them here?"
"The bigger question is, why are they even in Dawn? Cyra already has the crown doesn't she?"
"Well, that's the issue. If she does have the crown, she hasn't claimed it yet. Zoran's all confused about it. What reason could she have to take it and not claim it?"
At that moment, Kashika takes a few steps into the treasure room in an attempt to reach the pedestal. She manages to knock off the glass case on top of it revealing...nothing. With her other hands she grabs hold of four other crowns before quickly darting back out of the room.
Suddenly the lights in the room flicker and the butler appears in the doorway of the treasure room directly behind the fleeing Kobold. "Hmmmm. Interesting." He says in his flat monotone voice. He walks forward with his hands behind his back, eyes fixed on Kashika.
(No worries Raiketsu. I'm trying to make it a point to wait for everyone to get a chance to post. Do you still want to cast Magic Missile at the butler?)
Kashikas mage hands could only grab four, though she used her actual hands to grab 2 random weapons on her way out. She didn't care what they were, just that she wasn't leaving this entirely empty handed. She didn't know or care if they were mundane or enchanted.
As the butler apperates, she tosses whatever two weapons she had the rest of the way out calling to Zalten "Take them!" Before she turns around to face the butler. Perhaps it was the moment filled with tension but her features were sharp, and her smile draconian as she readies herself should he decide to strike.
"Interesting i-indeed" she countered. Sadly unaware of the gossip the others had heard, preventing her from adding a sharper quip.
"W-what is it you want?" Borh her responses expressing far more confidence that her stutter would normally allow. "A-are we to fight, or do you have other business?" She had a spell on her lips, waiting should he lunge but unless he started it, she wouldn't fight.
Jumble jumped, a bit startled at the butler's sudden reappearance at the entrance to the treasure room.
A gesture from his hand and a whispered arcane word summoned his familiar, who'd been left outside when they first decided to infiltrate. Ichabod flew to a high chandelier in the room, ready to act at his master's call.
The bard then waited to see what response their host gave to Kashika.
Rethan frowns as he listens to the conversation from the next room. Why would Cyra send them to steal the crown from Zoran if she already had it? He's about to open his mouth to say something to the rest of the group when the door opens and the butler returns. He holds off on throwing his axe at the man yet since the butler is not currently acting threateningly, but he keeps it at the ready just in case.
"Hah! I knew it was to convenient!" Nygil says when its announced that there are spells in the area. He watches with interest as Kashika and the others work to avoid whatever possible traps are in there. He would have just dashed through and avoided the traps on the way in if they'd determined that there was no magic involved, but magic isn't something he's good at, so he just decides to let them deal with it for now.
When the butler shows back up, Nygil jumps a little before taking on a defensive stance. Hearing the butler and Kashika both start talking about something being...interesting, he says, "Interesting? What's interesting? I feel a little out of the loop here."
The Kobold manages to snag two daggers from the treasure room on her way out. One is a jeweled dagger, non-magical but worth 20gp, the other is a Dagger of Venom. The butler's eyes follow them as they fly towards Zalten when Kashika throws them, before refocusing on the Kobold. He appears utterly unconcerned with the fact that he is outnumbered, or that anything has been stolen. After staring at the kobold for a few moments, he looks turns and pushes the statue back into place, causing the door to the hidden treasure room to shut. Once done, he turns and starts walking towards the west door, "King Zoran will see you now." He glances back at the group, "That is what you wanted is it not?"
At this point, the two servants behind the west door have fallen silent, though Rethan can hear their footsteps rushing away, likely to a different room.
Jumble turned toward Rethan, as his look of confusion became one of annoyance. Turning back to the butler, he couldn't contain himself: "Sir! The games have been fun so far, but could you please explain what's going on, now?"
Jack takes note of the iron crowns, thinking it best to wait until the excitement of the new room had died down to say anything. But that moment did not come. He's on the edge of his seat waiting to see what would be under the case, and to his confusion there is nothing under it, and almost leaps out of his furry white pelt when the butler appears out of practically nowhere! "I'm with Nygil here, what's interesting about this?" He hesitates alongside Jumble, suddenly very confused as it becomes increasingly clear that there are things that a few of them were not privy to. He chases after Jumble and the butler, looking back to see if Nygil will follow. Then Rethan drops what would sufficiently be considered a bombshell: that Cyra might already have the crown. A thousand and one emotions and thoughts race around his mind and relief is not one. "What? Hold on, Cyra may have the crown already?"

Still standing in the entrance of the south door, the butler glances from Rethan to Jumble, "Based on your being here, no. I do not believe that Cyra has the crown." He puts his hands behind his back again, "Now, do you wish to speak with King Zoran or not? If so, we can discuss the problem in more detail. If not, get out of the castle and get used to living here."He continues to stand in the doorway, waiting for the group to make the first move. While his monotone voice did not sound particularly threatening, it is clear that he does not want to leave you alone again.
"Alright! Lets go then!" Nygil says. "I have no clue what's going on, but if it means anything to you Mr. Butler, Cyra thinks that Zoran has the crown. ...Ohhhh, so that's what was so interesting... right?" He looks from the Butler to Kashika, then shrugs, "Either way. Lets go."
The revelation of this new information made Kashika flinch. Though her unusual determination didn't break. As the butler hadn't taken the weapons... she calmly picks them up, taking the jeweled dagger for herself, and giving the other to Zalten.
One ofnthe dragons is lying... or "trying to get rid of me..." she hisses under her breath. But if the butler wasn't attacking.... it seemed not the worst idea to follow. Her defenses never lowered, however, she untested a little.
"I w-will go. I suppose..." she said before whispering to zalten.. "stay on your guard.. but let's see where this goes."
