Liavyre says, "I'm not very knowledgeable about these symbols, but the corruption not overtaking this chapel is quite extraordinary. Pip, what do you make of this? I'll make sure the chapel itself is safe while you all decipher the symbols."
While the others are looking at the symbols, she'll look around the perimeter of the chapel and then through a window (if there is one) to check for anything of note and to see if there's anyone inside. If there is nothing of importance around the perimeter and if no one is inside, she'll check the entrance to make sure it's safe, just to be sure. She remains as quiet as she can while doing all of this.

Checking over the markings on the trees, the group confabs and decides that there are sets of five marks, which seem to link to the five gods of the chapel. The most obvious ones were the marks of Pelor, though the others were worked out. It appears that these sigils have given the land here the blessings of the five gods, helping prevent dark entities from entering. It seems to be why there is none of the hell rock nearby and why the plantlife is still thriving despite its surroundings.
Pip looks around the area. "Well I guess we could just go over to the chapel and get this done as soon as we can." He suggests. "If this place is really warded from the lower, then I'm sure the Luminaries will want to know about these marks." He goes into his pack and pulls out a book and a piece of charcoal. "I'm gonna make some copies of the marks to take back with us. I'll catch up to you if you wanna head in."

As Fjorgin heads forward, he feels a sense of the divinity that has blessed the area. There is this mild golden glow that he seems to sense around himself as he approaches the ancient chapel's front, the front doors tightly shut ahead of him. On the front step leading towards said doors, an old inscription can be read.

Thea's curiosity wins over her desire to hurry and get inside of the church. "Hold on for a moment, i want to try something out." She does her best to memorize the symbols, before she grabs a little twig and heads towards the outside of the blessed circle. She intents to draw another small circle around the first small and obviously corrupted plant she might find to see if she can reproduce the protecting aura.
Fjorgin grasps his icon to Pelor, stepping forward and he feels something otherworldly as he steps onto the entrance of the chapel, the doors in front of him. It is a good feeling, rather than ominous, which is welcoming compared to the areas outside.
Thea leaves the circle of trees and finds a wilted and long-dead piece of shrubbery. She attempts to recreate the mark around its base, but nothing appears to happen. When she leaves the area, she feels a sense of foreboding come over her as she steps into the slightly hellish landscape.
Ragmin deduces that though the marks are sigils to the five gods, there is something else to this. It seems that the marks are more of a standard, something that is keeping the area's boundaries, rather than providing whatever is keeping this part of the land lush. Simply recarving the symbol will not replicate the effects, it will require the aid of a powerful follower of that mark's deity to complete whatever ritual was done in the first place.
"Now that is a bit disappointing."Thea then heads back to the chapel and glances over the words that are written on the door. Slightly worried, she turns back to the others who are still waiting outside. "Uhm...i don't want to be the scaredy cat of the group here, but do you believe this is meant literally the way it was written?"
"I think we will be welcomed, for we are with Pelor."

Ragmin joins Fjorgin as the two of them open the large doors to the chapel. Within is a pristine white interior, somewhere worthy to give praise to a good deity. There are murals that have aged slightly with disuse, showing the world as a lush and vibrant paradise. Perhaps this is what the afterlife is like. Along the murals are signs of angels and lords, caring over the mortals and their settlements on the ground. There are several large benches with prayer donation plates placed at the end, each a silver smooth bowl to place coins in and other things to give to the church in worship.
Fjorgin places 25 gold coins into a prayer donation plate.

Thea reaches out to the two that already entered the chapel. "Sorry but...uhm...it seems like we really need to be holding hands to get in there with you."
