Ragmin is about 40 feet away from the group at this time, away from the light source. He's gone effectively into a dead end at least, so isn't giving away the position any more than the fight with the gelatinous cube would've.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Liavyre turns her attention to the crystalized yellow oil instead. She wonders if there is anything out in the natural world that might create this and what it might be.

The crystalised yellow stuff doesn't seem like a natural substance. Whatever it is, it could be compared to amber perhaps.
After a few minutes, Thea has managed to get the chalice free from the yellowy pool. It is fairly heavy for its size, and has some intricate patterns upon it. It's possibly worth a small fortune.
"I'm just as curious to find what that kind of oil this is, but aside from taking a scratching up a few pieces, i don't think we have the tools at hand to collect it in larger amounts. What are you suggesting?"
"Well, I'm not very knowledgeable of the arcane arts, but is there a way to shape it or possibly just blast a chunk off? Hmm...If it's not a natural substance would it possibly created by magic? Maybe Ragmin might have a tool, weapon, or some kind of equivalent rock knowledge to apply towards taking some—it resembles a rock even though it's not naturally occurring."
"If nothing else we could hammer a couple pitons into it to break it. Though I only have a shovel."
Ragmin thinks that he could chisel some away with his smith's tools if he wants to. It'll take a moment, but assuming the others will wait for him, he can make a Strength (Smith's Tools) check.

Liavyre says, "What do you think Ragmin? Might as well take some if you're able."
(She's fine with waiting a few moments for him to attempt it)
While this goes on, she will go to the door Ragmin investigated to see if she can figure out any additional information with the lock and how to open it (other than what Ragmin figured out already)
(Since it is a smith's tools check, you may add your proficiency bonus, meaning it is a 16 overall)
Ragmin gets to work, chiselling some of this strange substance from the ground. After a minute he has a healthy sized chunk of the material to take home with him. It might make a nice souvenir.
Liavyre and Thea head over to the door and inspect it.
Liavyre:
The door appears to be made of adamantine, a very durable and protective metal. It is going to be nigh impossible to break down with brute force.
From what you can see, this Y-shape hole is what is used to activate the mechanisms on the dial at the centre of the door. Whatever item is used to open it must be fairly unique, and probably made from a similar material.
It doesn't seem like there is much you can do with thieves' tools, as this sort of lock doesn't have an applicable keyhole or pins to trigger.
Liavyre says, "Indeed it is my friend...if only we could take some of *this* metal. It looks like the lock is opened by something unique." She takes a moment to admire the adamantine craftsmanship as well as the lock.
She sees Thea putting the chalice to the lock, "Something unique like that possibly; give it a try. Let's just be ready for anything and keep our senses sharp."
Standing aside, she lets Thea attempt putting the chalice into the lock. Liavyre also notches an arrow in her longbow and is prepared to swiftly attack if needed. She knows the gelatinous cube didn't make any noise, so she is especially cautious.

Upon placing the chalice into the slot on the door, it seems almost like a perfect fit. However, there are two curved prongs that are not taken into account (The chalice seems to fit about in the stalk of the Y, but there is something missing from this piece to allow it to unlock).

"I'll try and discern if there is more about this chalice sometime later. Maybee it can help us with the door, let's go and have a look."
"Yes, we shouldn't linger around here longer than needed. Which one of the doors shall we choose? The one Ragmin inspected?"
Before we move that way, Liavyre will ask about the crystalized, yellow liquid. "Should we try and take some of this with us, or is it unsafe?"
