"Well, here's the problem.  It seem your old enemy the giants are back.  Including a couple nasty blue and green fellows.  Something to fight them would be nice.  Who is the 'warmonger'"  Rinc approaches the statue and glances around for the two kobolds.

"Solved the puzzle with luck, it seems you have. Shed the answer to your problems young one, will I. Yes, hmmm.

Represented by the large statue, the warmonger in the ancient text is. Doubts, try cleaning it if you have."

The small statue paces around to check the place and slides his hands to walls. He blows the dust sticking to his fingers and speaks again.

Rinc notices that the two kobolds are still outside with Logum.

"You mentioned a nasty blue and green one. Yeesssssss. Tell you more about them if you clean this place and replace the torches, I will. Still a sacred tomb, this is."

"Alright." Sen'ra uses Produce Flame to light the torches.

Alton watches the strange statue, pausing as and shaking his head at the mention of the giants they had fought. He had no wish to fight the thing again if he could possibly help it.

(Alton what?)

Rinc Will rip a rag from his shirt and polish the statue....

As Rinc wipes the statues with his cloth and Sen'ra lights the torches, the statue begins to tell a tale.

"Giants follow a social structure called Ordning way back ancient times. As you know, somewhat different, the Oni is. Outsiders looking for refuge, were they. Giant recognizes not them as a kin. Two of them who wanted to be a part of the giant's clan, my predecessors told me they were.

Their weapons, unlike the giant's of this island whose brute force is, cunning and knows how to beguile others, are they. Yeesssssss. To be recognized, the two fearsome oni slain many goblins and kobolds. Companionship from others and welcome them as a friend, the ancient hero knew what they truly needed and decided to talk to them.

However, thinking they are colluding with the enemy, the giants laid a trap to imprison the two. Of their fate learning, his righteous fury the ancient hero delivered. The ancient hero tried to find their prison but was able to not. For with a hefty price his powers comes. His life, was it. Yes, hmmm."

An hour later after the rest of them finished cleaning the room, the statue once agains speaks.

"If you truly use my belongings want to, lend it to you, I could. But first you must pass my test and prove, strong enough to wield it and return alive, you are. You may take the test whenever you want. For this place is where I lived and where, stay until my successor comes, will I."

Immediately jumping at the opportunity, Sen'ra asks the statue, "What is this test, before I take it, O helpful statue?"

Alton can only shake his head at the eagerness of his companion, turning his attention bacl to the notes he had taken on the story the statue had told them, turning his mind towards ways he could turn the story into a song.

"Simple sparring match. One rule there is, last for a minute and then escape the room. After that, I can be sure that, safely escape and return the items I lent if you are defeated, you will.

But be hasty, do not. Take a rest and return from above, you can. Even though we live underground, sure my kin will give you a place to stay, I am."

The statue chuckles as he continues.

"Well, I think I have not to say something obvious since you cannot come here without the rest of my tribe knowing.

Quite deep and secluded within our territory, this part is of the nest is. With open arms they probably welcomed you. Yes, hmmm."

"Hmm, survive for a minute, then escape. From what? And am I to do this alone, or can I bring my team?" Sen'ra asks

Rinc raises and eyebrow at Sen'ra  "Your team...."  and smiles.  

"Bring anyone you want for the trial, you can. However, willing and must comply with the rule I spoke of earlier must they be.

It means, also survive for a minute and escape, they must. Also try to make me submit, you can. Yours, the choice is. Yeesssssss."

The statue sits at the elevated tomb.

"Always be here waiting, take your time and plan as I will."

Sen'ra will say to the statue "Ok. Give me a little time to plan and rest." To the group he will say "So, who wants to join me? I can do this alone, but if I do, I will need everything you can give me in terms of spells and buffs." He looks around to everyone in turn, a smile on his face.

Alton can only offer a shrug before drawing his shortsword once more while his other hand draws one of his many daggers, flipping the weapon in his hand expertly. "Perhaps I can be of assistance."

(Hey, back from holiday. Sorry for not posting, basically had no internet the entire time. Catching up on the chat, just checking if we're all there, or just Alton and Rinc.)

(Currently Alton, Sen'ra, and Rinc are inside the next room at the end of the hidden small passage, deciding which of them will take the talking statue's test.
