Alton sighs as he waits for the others to escape. "Just run from the blasted thing and give it nothing." He calls out to them as he readies himself incase something were to happen.

(Sandral is intending that. He's shoved the unconscious Rinc down there, and is hopefully not going to die as he attempts the same. Waiting for DM response to my prior post)
While the oni takes a good look at the necklace, Sen'ra's brick flies through the air hitting the object and disappears right in front of his eyes.
Sandral takes this opportunity to save his friend and retreat. The oni tries to follow but Sandral throws his ring towards it. The blue-skinned giant stops for a moment.
"You made a wise decision. I hope our paths converge again and give me another worthy challenge."
As Sandral drag Rinc succesfully below the ground, the oni takes the nearby boulder and pushes it deep to close the hole.
The half-elf hears from the other side a deep breath followed by a blast of cold air seeping through the small cracks as thick ice starts to form around the boulder.
With no enemies nearby, Rinc was immediately resuscitated and the encounter with the oni left bitter emotions to some.
The chamber is filled with silence as the group starts to plan what they should do next on this unexpected underground chamber.

In the hole, Sandral produces a small flame for a bit of illumination, then will tend to Rinc. "That was a close one. That oni will be back, I couldn't get his weapon." He'll collect his ring up again and assess the nearby area.
Surviving the encounter seems to have helped Rinc to grow, as Sandral watches him starting to stabilize and felt that their battered body starts to get accustomed to the wounds they've got.
Sandral looks around and saw the same large stacks of mud bricks and shattered pots around this abandoned kiln chamber. There is also a path leading to the north and nortwest.
(Just to confirm, did the oni end up putting the boulder over the chimney?)
Sandral looks to the others. "That oni will be back." He says quietly. "For now, we need to rest and regroup." He looks up. "We lost one to them already, I pray we don't lose any more."
What am I doing? Sandral thinks.I just escaped near-certain death. I'm here for adventure and fun, this has taken a dark twist. Maybe I should attempt to get back while you still can, then again these others still need help, and I can't abandon them here.
(The kiln had no chimney, the oni placed the boulder back to the hole where the party entered.)
"I heard from the tribe's elder, back when I was a hatchling that our tribe first settled beneath the plains and started digging up through the mountains.
This seems to be the place, but I cannot remember why they left it in a hurry as I spent my time out in the forest to experiment stuff", Kirpo says as he looks around the chamber.
Guras makes a blank stare at the group.
"I mostly spent my time preparing myself for battle so I haven't paid attention to our tribe's history, though it's ironic I haven't been useful for these past skirmishes...", Guras stares down to the dirt with regret on his face.
Alton will slump down and close his eyes for several seconds, looking over at the other memebers of the group. "I believe that was one of the most one sided fights I have ever been in. In the furture let us hope we do not end up in this very same situation." The halfling mutters as he climbs to his feet and dusts himself off, his cloak still billowing even if they had just fled.
Logum paces in a circle for about ten minutes while strumming his lute and humming. After he is done a peaceful dome forms and he collapses for the rest of the night. In the morning he wakes up feeling reinvigorated.
"Take it easy." Sandral says, trying to calm Rinc after he wakes up. "It's been a long night, be thankful you're still with us. We can sort it out once we've had some rest."

The group resumes their long awaited rest. Logum immediately collapses as after casting a dome of force on their resting place and forgets to take watch. The group was surprised why the dirt felt so comfortable and dry as they begin their sleep. Fortunately, nothing eventful happened and Rinc starts taking the last watch at this underground chamber.
Rinc feels the curse weaken off as time passes by during his watch as he eventually thinks to himself that maybe losing it was not bad, but his previous failure before he took hold of the weapon still lingers.
Eventually everyone in the group rested well enough, reducing the exhaustion they accumulated during their travels when Rinc heard a faint sound of chittering and hissing but wasn't certain on which of the two path it came from before the sound fades away.
(Alton, Logum, Rinc, and Sen'ra, remove 1 level of Exhaustion after finishing the long rest.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rinc stares at the ring he took from the dead Goliath...suddenly he tilts his head as if he is hearing something...his eyes widening.....
"Go with your god Riskah..I will search for this tomb."
Rinc glances down both paths before checking his weapons. Perception 10 with disadvantage...
One handaxe and 16 arrows....he glances to his other party members...
"I heard something down one of these passages. However, we should discuss our next step. We have found some of the kobolds, but I'm not sure if this is the mission. We know these Oni are causing problems, and I heard one say that he had been freed from a prison. I am gathering this happened due to the earthquakes." Rinc glances at the Kobolds...
"Do you two know of a buried tomb? Have you seen a symbol of a Platinum shield?" Rinc speaks to the Kobolds.
"I don't know anything about the shield but there is a legend among kobold warriors of a platinum scaled dragonshield."
Guras stops looking at the dirt and continues,
"The island was not as peaceful as it is now. Giants, kobolds, and goblins were at war most of the time until a one kobold warrior had a vision. He started a long pilgrimage and came back covered in scales of platinum bestowed upon him by his patron.
With his new found strength, the kobold dragonshield started to unify the kobold tribes and the island's inhabitants for a peaceful resolution.
The goblins were tired of the conflict and agreed to join his cause, the giants however are not to keen to his idea and continued to fight.
With his plead falling to deaf ears, another vision was sent to him. He gathered a handful of warriors and went to the highest mountain, where the giants reside. He then cleaved it with such force that the island broke in half, and the mountain top fell and formed the western part of the Merdavis.
The warriors he left with never came back. The elders say they died but there are unfounded rumors among the old tribe warriors that they guard the relics he left till this day."

Alton listens to the story and begins to take kental notes as he decides that the story would be worth remebering to retell at a later time. It sounded like pne of the stories of old, his mind going to stories that usually featured gods. "So then if this is true these giants probably want revenge for their home being damaged or possibly destroyed by this?"
Sen'ra does not even look up, still feeling tired even after the rest.

(Nope, Sandral chucked the ring into the hole after stuffing Rinc in there, NOT towards the oni)
"Damn you half-elves and your tricks!"
Sandral hears the oni's loud yell as it stomps the ground with frustration as it walks away from the boulder's location.
In the hole, Sandral produces a small flame for a bit of illumination, then will tend to Rinc. "That was a close one. That oni will be back, I couldn't get his weapon." He'll collect his ring up again and assess the nearby area.
