Amenia nods and opens the portal back into the devastated town. The Fort has collapsed and there is nothing but ruins. Several large swaths of forest surrounding the town are dead and withered.
"Good luck on your travels and may the gods favor you" says Amenia before she closes the portal
Aisha surveys the damage with a mixture of sadness and anger. "All this so a tyrant can become worse." She takes a breath to center herself, "So is this mine of yours on the way to the Silver Summit?"
“No, the mine is to the east, the Silver Summit is to the north. I wonder if we should check on the mine. It is one of the next targets, to be sure. Should we head west?” Kasbis looks at the destruction with a disgusted look on his face.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"We could spend some time fortifying the mines as well if we go back, though it is relatively well hidden even should the Mask find it..." Duncan replies. "But again, they are probably wondering what the hell has come of us. So if we cannot at least send a message, then, yes, it might be good to head there first."
"To the West then!" Aisha declares before looking around growing visibly frustrated, "I've always used landmarks to navigate, and they're all gone." Holding back tears she asks, "Which way is West?"

Kasbis heads back to the west, retracing their footsteps, wishing to return to the mine and the secret cave that his father outfitted. He remembers the scorpions in the desert and he keeps a keen eye out for any sign of them again (or of any other hostiles) as they travel like before. (Is Ori with us?)

The party continues west and the sun beats down on the party it is easily 110 degrees
Aisha notices it first that there is something underneath the sands shifting ever so slightly. Whatever it is its quite large and it is directly in the party's path
"Good eyes!" Duncan says, as their new companion points out the disturbance in the sand. "Yes, we did have to deal with one on the way in." He then looks around the sand for a larger stone to hurl towards the sand, hoping to either scare the beast off, or at least have it come to the surface.
A small mountain of sand shifts and this large skeletal snake burst from the sand ready to strike. It towers over the party and poison still drips from its fangs.
"What in the world is that thing?!" Aisha screams as she casts a pair of spells starting with a bonus action Spiritual Weapon followed up with a the action Toll the Dead.
Initiative 19
Spiritual Weapon to hit: 22 Damage: 5 force damage
Toll the Dead DC 14 Wisdom save on a fail taking 11 damage if it has all its hit points, if it's missing any hit points it takes 14 damage. The damage is necrotic.

Kasbis initiative : 16
Kasbis moves back 20 feet, startled by the appearance of the skeletal creature. He closes his eyes and starts moving his arms, pushing outward from his chest. A ghostly spirit appears directly behind the large, bony Naga. As you look closer when it begins to strike, it has the ghostly visage of Kurta, Kas’s father as its face. “Attack it father, bring it down, come to our aid!” Kas says.
[spell]Summon Undead[/spell] (Ghostly) : Attack: 13 Damage: 10 necrotic damage, and if this hits, it must make a wisdom saving throw, DC 15 or it is frightened of the ghostly spirit until the end of their next turn.

There are now signs of the invaders. It seems they have left.
Where do you go?
