We’re walking along the road about an hour later, when one Jetsam hears a strange insane-Ishmael babbling coming from up ahead. He stops, cupping his hand to his ear. “What’s that?”

A second later, Tommy and Fiske hear the same noise from the left, then Hadrian hears the same noise from the right. We can catch glimpses of three both is in the bushes. 

Jetsam swears softly and reaches for his sword and knife as they come closer. Roll initiative. 

Jetsam: 23

Tommy: 13

Fiske: 18

Ooh nice. Hadrian?

Right, Jetsam is up first. He’s moving towards the front nothing and attacking it with his sword and knife.

 Dagger: 16 to hit, 7 damage. 

The nothic is targeting Jetsam with its Rotting gaze. 

Rotting Gaze. The nothic targets one creature it can see within 30 feet of it. The target must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw against this magic or take 10 necrotic damage.

Fiske and then Tommy, then Hadrian is up.

Tommy points at the Nears enemy.

Birdie will swoop in and distract it then use flyby to fly into the air out of melee after Tommy attacks.

Hadrian will move towards the sound on the right and face the creature there. He will slowly step closer and closer until they are in melee range. 

He will start first and try a trip attack.

That severely wound it, Fiske, you’re up!

Fiske casts eldritch blast on the foe to the left before having his imp attack the wounded foe. 

Eldritch Blast: Attack: 11 Damage: 13

Imp Sting w/ advantage as it was invisible: Attack: 20 Damage: 6 (DC 14 Con save or it takes 12 poison damage)

He uses his movement to find some cover.

 He made the save but still takes the damage from the first attack.

 It failed the save, It keels over dead. 

The other nothic will turn it’s gaze on Hadrian. 

Rotting Gaze. The nothic targets one creature it can see within 30 feet of it. The target must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw against this magic or take 10 necrotic damage.

Hadrian took the gaze and sizes up his opponent. at (23) he was able to withstand the gaze and awaited his chance to attack.

Jetsam is attacking the one in front again. Sword misses, dagger hits for 7 damage. The nothic will make two claw attacks at him. 

Attack: 8 Damage: 4

Attack: 10 Damage: 8

Tommy will attack the one he targeted again.

This both hit. Fiske is up!

Fiske fires another eldritch blast at one of the remaining creatures. Sending his imp back to being invisible.

And that misses. There’s only one left, Hadrian, you’re up!
