You pay little heed to the hounds' demeanour at first, but as your flaming sphere comes into play, you can't help but notice their peculiar response. The thought occurs to you: do they fear the blaze's warmth or the light that it casts? Or is it the shape of the sphere that terrifies them most? You consider the possibilities, wondering if there could be something more at play here.
Meresaa's Turn
The sound of Meresaa's device fills the air with a low hum as it bursts into life, filling her with a sense of pride and achievement. Her sharp eyes remain fixed on Aruum, watching in fascination as the wounds on the goblin's body slowly begin to heal. However, she is not content to stop there. With a deft hand, she turns her device to her companions, imbuing them with renewed vigour and strength. The energy emanating from the device fills the temple, providing a shining light in the otherwise bleak place.
Despite her success, Meresaa's gut tells her that danger still lurks nearby. She takes a few calculated steps back, putting some distance between herself and the hounds that still bay hungrily, their fiery eyes trained on the little goblin.
Faila's Turn
With a fierce snarl, Faila springs into action, a blur of flashing claws and bared teeth as she launches herself at the hound savaging Aruum. The creature is caught off-guard by her ferocity, and a brief scuffle ensues as Faila grapples with the beast.
Hound #2 - Opposed Grapple Check: 24(Crit)
Hound #2 - Opposed Grapple Check: 7(Fail!)
Despite the hound's imposing size and strength, Faila fights with cunning and tenacity that defies her small stature. Her lithe form twists and turns in a flurry of motion, managing to outmanoeuvre the beast and gain the upper hand. With a fierce determination, she sinks her sharp claws into the hound's flesh and drags it away from Aruum, moving it closer to Boyd.
Hound #1 - Attack of Opportunity: Attack: 13, Damage: 10
Faila's desperate manoeuvre to pull the hound leaves her vulnerable, and she unwittingly creates an opening for the other hound to pounce. With lightning-fast reflexes, the hound seizes the opportunity and launches a vicious attack, its sharp fangs biting into Faila's flesh ((I believe a 13 just hits)).
Hound #1's Turn
With Aruum as its clear target, the non-grappled hound darts forward with deadly intent, its eyes fixed on the vulnerable goblin. Without a second thought, it launches itself through the air, claws outstretched and jaws gaping wide, ready to sink its teeth into the hapless victim.
Bite Attack vs Aruum: Attack: 17, Damage: 15((ouch, almost max))
Aruum cries out in agony as the hound's teeth sink deep into his right arm. The goblin's legs wobble unsteadily beneath him, and he struggles to maintain his balance. Blood gushes forth from his wounds, undoing the progress made by Meresaa's device moments earlier.
Aruum grits his teeth against the pain and tries to push past his injuries, gathering what little strength he has left to focus on the hound. With fierce determination, he thrusts his hands out at the creature, channelling all his power into a single spell: Burning Hands. The fiery blast erupts from his fingertips, engulfing the hound in a scorching inferno. Despite his weakened state, Aruum refuses to give up the fight, hoping that his magic will be enough to take down the beast.
The hound's hide crackles and pops as flames engulf it, leaving behind a foul stench and a trail of burnt fur. Despite the intense pain, the beast shows no sign of faltering, its eyes still fixed on Aruum.
Hound #2's Turn
The second hound snarls and snaps, its powerful muscles bulging as it struggles to free itself from Faila's grapple. Its teeth gnash mere inches from her face as it thrashes wildly, determined to shake her loose.
Opposed Grapple Check: 17((I'll use your unused grapple roll, as it beats it))
Faila's claws sink deeper into the hound's flesh, leaving the beast unable to break free from her hold. It writhes and wriggles but its efforts prove futile and it remains grappled.
Boyd - You watch as Meresaa and Nikita cautiously approach the hounds, their eyes locked on the fierce beasts. Meanwhile, Faila has managed to drag one of the hounds closer to your position, her sharp claws digging deep into its flesh. Aruum, on the other hand, is engaged in a desperate struggle with the other hound, his stance unsteady as he fights for his life. Time is critical, it is your turn to act.
Lord of Autumn - The Fomorians stand uneasy before you, their grips tightening on their crude weapons, uncertain of how you will act and what powers you might command. Gasps and even a stray clap of applause come from the pack as you perform your ritual. The leader scowls at the Fomorian that clapped but says nothing. Turning his attention back to you he bows stiffly.
"Tis clear to me tha' you command pow'r beyon' even me compre-hension,"he stammers in awe. He eyes you with increased suspicion as you reveal further information about the Court of Autumn.
"Hark! You seek the means to alleviate the plight of your people. This implies change from that of the current to anew. Truly, then, realize that you stand now in the Court of Autumn, for this is our domain, our charge, and our jurisdiction."
"S'what you're sayin' is tha' this Court of Autumn could 'elp us?" he queries, his attention rapt as you pause for effect.
He waits intently as you pause, hanging on your words.
"Verily, if change is what you seek, then the Lord of Autumn shall act in the will of the Court and pass the judgement: Carry on with your charge and seek not to let this motivation dull. Forsooth, you will find no quarrel with the Falltide should you act upon these interests."
"Thank y',"he says, his tone uncharacteristically polite, especially for a Fomorian. "Bu' perhaps the Lor..."he cuts his sentence forth as you continue your proclamation.
"This judgement passed, the Court of Autumn will leave you to your ways with our acknowledgement."
No sooner than you pause, then he continues. "As I was sayin'. Someone as well versed in magics as y'..."
"This said, a service you would provide should you arm us with information of what you know about this here and yonder. No wrath will be visited should you wish to remain private in your knowledge, as the Lord of Autumn deals in discretion all the same."
He listens contently to your request for further information, momentarily dumbstruck, he scratches at his forehead. "Info'mation? Truth is, we jus' got t' this part o' th' city. Tha' said, there's all sorts 'round these parts. Many, like us, seek powerful treasures... though, to what end, an' fo' what purpose, we 'ave no idea."
"Listen Lord,"he says, placatingly. "We 'eard tha' it ain't jus' ghosts what haunt this city. The way I heard is that some powerful force is movin' through this place. Other parties have no'iced all manner o' excavations goin' on. Folk are searchin' for a relic or somethin'... and these folk ain't the sort tha' are likely to acknowledge the Court of Autumn, if y' get me drift. Bes' y' keep y' wits abou' y' an' don't go lookin' fo' trouble. Tha's me advice."

Boyd runs up the path between the pools to get closer to the action, ending just 3 paces (squares) south of Meresaa. He raises his magical dagger, takes aim, and throws at hound #2 while it struggles against Faila's talons.
Attack: 20 Damage: 12
"Get out of there, Aruum!"he bellows. "Duck and weave!"
Nikita affirms Boyd's exhortation: "Listen to the gold-chucker, Aruum. You are injured. Disengage and retreat."
Both she and Thumbtack are aware that while Nikita is worried about the treasure goblin, she also self-interestedly does not want to lose their guide.
Nikita, stepping lightly and humming the strange melody of her bladesongdashes 80' north, northwest and then west to engage the first hound.
If the hound hits her (AC 21) non-critically, she will raise an arcane Shield as a reaction (AC goes from 21 to 26 until Nikita's next turn). OR, if either hound lands any critical hit, Nikita will instead cast Silvery Barbs as a reaction, distracting them (forces re-roll of the attack) and granting herself advantage.
As a bonus action, Nikita slams the Flaming Sphere she is concentrating on into the first hound (9 fire damage, DC 15 DEX Save for half), otherwise leaving the ball of fire where it was before, next to and behind (5' southwest of) the first hound.
Thumbtack arrives at the same spot as Nikita via a different route, flying 60' over the other hound being grappled by the strange dinosaur which Faila has transformed into and flapping her wings in its face. Taking the help action on the next grapple or attempt to shove prone against the second hound (granting advantage to Faila). Continuing on using her Flyby capability, she arrives back on Nikita's shoulder at her new location.
(Note - the edited image below does not include Boyd's movement just prior).
Boyd charges into the fray with a fierce determination, his magical dagger glinting in the dim light. With a swift motion, he hurls the blade at the nearest hound, piercing its side and tearing open a wicked wound before the weapon flies back to his hand. Aruum, exhausted from the fight, turns his gaze towards Boyd at the sound of his warning, giving a weary nod of agreement in response.
Nikita - The party is making some headway, as both hounds are now heavily wounded. The beasts are still fighting with tenacity, but their movements are growing sluggish and their attacks weaker. Aruum, on the other hand, appears to be in a desperate state, barely able to stand as blood continues to pour from his wounds. It's clear that he cannot take a further attack and any misstep could be fatal for him. It is your chance to seize the opportunity, it is your turn.
The Lord of Autumn again listens patiently to the leader of the Formorians. He makes no outward gesture aside from now stroking his beard, with his focus remains respectfully locked onto the leader.
The firbolg tilts his head off to one side, this time patiently waiting for the Formorian to finish speaking before responding. "Curious. Is this the reason that brings you to this once-hallowed place?" The Lord of Autumn points to the massive temple behind the giants as he poses this question.
(If/When) the leader finishes answering the question, the firbolg nods his head and speaks again in Giant tongue:
He listens contently to your request for further information, momentarily dumbstruck, he scratches at his forehead. "Info'mation? Truth is, we jus' got t' this part o' th' city. The Lord of Autumn's ears perk up as the Formorian leader describes the more recent activity in the area regarding the excavations and searches. He again waits patiently for the giant to finish speaking before responding in turn, his voice sounding almost giddy with excitement, "Ho, Cendriane has spent far too long in stasis, this is true. To hear now it being energized despite obvious intents to discourage such fortune, then truly," he cracks an enormous grin as the quiver returns once again to his javelin hand, "This. Is. Glorious."
The quiver in his grip ceases, and he continues to speak to the Formorians, "The Court of Autumn takes recognition of your willingness to offer aid in information. As bound by Circumstance of the Seasonal Concords, the Court desires to leave no balance hanging. Two questions asked by the Lord of Autumn on behalf of the Falltide shall be met in turn with two questions offered, should you wish to partake. If not, then the Court will bid you speed and success in your endeavors towards meaningful change."
The Lord of Autumn pauses and looks onto the Formorians, awaiting their response.

Seeing the possibility of tides turning, Meresaa's expression shifts from one of terror to that of determination. She sets her jaw, hikes the hem of her robes, and maneuvers past the entangled beastial forms of Faila and pup #2. As she approaches Nikita's flank, she once again lofts her device and pulls the trigger. The gears whir and click as Aurum, Nikita, Faila, Meresaa, and (apparently) the device itself are again infused with an extra jolt of energy (13 temp hp to replace the previous horrid roll).
She reaches out a hand and touches Aruum's shoulder, concurrently offering reassurance, direction (away from the fracas), and a measure of healing as she casts cure wounds to heal the gerblin for 12 REAL hp.
Proximity to the ghastly mutts quickly reminds her to back away, herself. (I think she'd be at the top of the northern steps at this point, if I counted correctly).
Thrashing to keep the hound in place, her claws buried harmlessly in its hide, as Thumbtack flies by in its face, Faila sinks a hindclaw into the beast as well and tries to shove it prone onto the ground, screeching shrilly.
With unwavering courage, Nikita charges forward towards the hound (#1) that remains ungrappled. Using her mental prowess, she sends her flaming sphere hurtling towards the rear of the hound, its impact fierce enough to singe the creature's fur and flesh.
Simultaneously, Nikita reaches out telepathically to Thumbtack, instructing the owl to help Faila in her struggle against the second beast. With a quick take-off, the owl soars towards the fray before landing gracefully on Nikita's shoulder.
Meresaa moves with purpose, wasting no time in attending to the wounded. With a flick of her wrist, she takes aim and activates her curious healing device. The machine hums and clicks as it springs to life, emitting a soft glow that washes over the injured party members. Aruum appears to perk up a bit under its influence, regaining some of his colour. Meresaa further provides reassurance to the goblin by placing her hand on his back, channelling more healing energy into him, before retreating several feet.
Faila's Turn
Hound #2 Opposed Strength Check vs Shove: 23
Faila, having already grappled the second hound, wastes no time in trying to bring the beast down. She puts all her weight behind the effort, trying to topple the beast onto its side, but the hound resists her efforts, snarling and snapping viciously in response.
Hound #1's Turn
The injured hound (#1) lets out a pitiful, strained howl before lunging forward and attempting to sink its teeth into Aruum. Its movements are weak and uncoordinated, but still dangerous in their desperation.
Bite: Attack: 18, Damage: 6 (snake-eyes)
The hound's attack is feeble and sluggish, barely grazing Aruum's skin and causing him only minor harm.
Following the counsel of his comrades, Aruum screams in terror as he disengages from the hound, darting behind Meresaa and cowering in fear behind her. Raising his hand, he conjures a fiery mote and hurls it towards the hound.
Bonus Action - Nimble Escape
Action - [Tooltip Not Found]: Attack: 14, Damage: 7 (fire)
The firebolt streaks through the air with intense searing heat, slamming into the hound with a thunderous impact. The creature is sent sprawling to the ground, and as it tries to rise once more, it staggers and collapses, lifeless.
Hound #2's Turn
Despite being grappled by Faila, the second hound continues to struggle and attempts to sink its teeth into her.
Bite: Attack: 12(miss)
However, the hound's gaping jaws snap at Faila but fail to make contact.
Boyd - The fight seems close to over. Hound (#1), to the north, is on the brink of death, its breath wheezing and its fur burnt to a crisp. The other hound (#2), held by Faila, appears to have fared better but is still heavily wounded. Now, the burden of ending these wretched beasts' miserable lives falls upon you, it is your turn.
The firbolg tilts his head off to one side, this time patiently waiting for the Formorian to finish speaking before responding. "Curious. Is this the reason that brings you to this once-hallowed place?"The Lord of Autumn points to the massive temple behind the giants as he poses this question.
"Evil resides within," the Fomorian leader responds with an air of finality as if his statement alone is a sufficient explanation.
Is. Glorious."
The Fomorian leader regards you with a mix of incredulity and disdain as if you're a madman. "Glor-ri-ous?" He repeats with a scoff. "Well, I guess so. Lots of old powerful relics, eh? Enough fo' all - s'what I say!"
"Oh, uh, right," the Fomorian leader stammers. "Firs' off, wha' healin' powers d'ya command? I knows you've got magics... per'aps it can fix us - our bodies." He regards you with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion.
"Secon' off, if y' plannin' on goin' int' there,"he waves in the direction of the temple. "Le' us know if y' come across anythin' pow'rful. 'specially if its old. I 'eard mention of a place, 'igh up on a 'ill, ov'r lookin' th' city. S'posedly lots of old bits'n'bobs in there." He says, almost cutting himself short, unsure if he should reveal more information.

Boyd catches his bloody dagger out of the air as it whirs back like a boomerang after hitting the hound. He takes a moment to line up a good shot and rockets the dagger right at Hound 2's face, hoping for it to bite deep and end this struggle so they can flee this cursed place.
BA: Steady aim ((adv. if you don't move this turn)) Attack: 23 Damage: 11
As the first hound burns to death in front of her from Aruum's and her own flames, Nikita spins back to flank the other which is grappled by the dinosaur that was until recently Faila. Thumbtack flaps her wings in its face once more, this time to grant Nikita advantage on her own rapier attack, returning to her shoulder-perch. Meanwhile, Nikita sends her Flaming Sphere looping around to slam into the hound from the southwest.
Attack: Nikita with Rapier and Booming Blade on Hound 2 at advantage due to Thumbtack'shelp. To Hit: 26 (Double CRIT wasted!) Rapier Damage: 16 piercing (none of which affects the hound) Booming Blade Damage: the hound is sheathed in deep blue booming energy and takes 7 thunder damage if it moves on its turn.
Bonus Action: Nikita'sFlaming Sphere slams into Hound 2 from the southwest, stopping 5' southwest of it above the pool. Damage: 7 fire damage, DC 15 DEX Save for half. Hound will take similar fire damage again if it does not move by the end of its turn (catch-22 with Booming Blade).
"Do not lose focus. Finish the fight and beware! My sense is that the hounds seem to fear the ball of fire even more than I would expect. Almost as if afraid of the shape. I worry their master is near, perhaps some spherical aberration or spirit deeper in this temple."

The Lord of Autumn awaits the Formorian leader's response and nods his head in turn at each individual question. He speaks again, this time drawing closer to the edge of the vantage point as if to begin making his way down.
"Oh, uh, right," the Fomorian leader stammers. "Firs' off, wha' healin' powers d'ya command? I knows you've got magics... per'aps it can fix us - our bodies." He regards you with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion.
The firbolg speaks with certainty, "The Lord of Autumn commands that which has been bestowed by the Falltide itself," a pause, as if he too is second guessing whether more should be revealed, before he begins again, "Though the powers of overt metamorphosis lay beyond our current grasp. In sooth, the Lord of Autumn has powers to effect, not affect, change."He smiles as his cloak of leaves begins to rustle with pride and excitement.
"Verily, it would seem that the investigation has fortuitously led the Autumnal Court to behold this temple. It is the Lord of Autumn's charge to pursue further." He regards what the Formorian told him and speaks with a slight grin, "You ask for a favor now regarding the artifacts within, and not a response to a question offered. Forsooth, this is not an equivalent trade, as you all should well know."A pause for effect, "That said, know that the Lord of Autumn's business in Cendriane appears to have aligned with the interests that of yourselves. Should the Lord of Autumn encounter that which would behoof you in your quest for change, then know that the Lord of Autumn will not withhold such artifacts from you all."
The Lord of Autumn finishes his speech and regards the Formorians closely. He thinks back through the conversation and tries to internalize a read upon the intent of the crew.
Insight Check (to ensure they are honest about their intentions and that they harbor no ill will towards the Lord of Autumn): 18
(To DM: Regardless of the insight check, the Lord of Autumn will begin making his way down from the ruins)
Boyd bides his time, calculating the perfect opportunity to strike. With a flick of his wrist, his magical dagger sails through the air with deadly precision. The blade slices across the hound's face, leaving a gaping wound that oozes blood and saliva. The creature howls in agony, its eyes glinting with feral rage.
((Damn, that's a tonne of damage!))
Nikita's Turn
Nikita dances with deadly grace, her rapier flashing like lightning as she evades the hound's clumsy attacks. With a swift and precise strike, the weapon finds its mark, crackling with blue energy as it tears into the hound's flesh. The beast is clearly on its last legs, but Nikita is not one to take chances. With fierce concentration, she guides her flaming sphere towards the hound, the searing ball of fire smashing into its back and engulfing it in flames. The creature howls in agony before collapsing in Faila's grasp, lifeless and defeated.
ALL - Congratulations, your foes are defeated. End of initiative.
EDIT: Forgot to state that the hound's Dex Save was a 5 (2 rolled).
Post-Battle
The weight of Nikita's warning settles heavily upon the party. They know that they must now make a crucial decision: to press on further into the temple's depths, risking the unknown horrors that may lie ahead, or to retreat and abandon their quest. The fate of Cendriane hangs in the balance, for the evil that lurks within the temple could easily spread and consume the entire city. The choice is theirs to make, but they must make it swiftly and with great care.
Late-Morning - Day 1 - What a coincidence! Yes, what a coincidence!
Outside the Temple
Lord of Autumn:
The firbolg speaks with certainty, "The Lord of Autumn commands that which has been bestowed by the Falltide itself,"a pause, as if he too is second guessing whether more should be revealed, before he begins again, "Though the powers of overt metamorphosis lay beyond our current grasp. In sooth, the Lord of Autumn has powers to effect, not affect, change."He smiles as his cloak of leaves begins to rustle with pride and excitement.
The Fomorian leader gazes at you with an unyielding stare, seemingly unable to grasp the complexity of your words. Nevertheless, he nods his head in agreement, revealing nothing of his thoughts.
Confusion clouds the Fomorian leader's face, but he ultimately decides to nod in agreement. "Sounds good t' me," he says, oblivious to the full meaning of your words. "Do what you gotta do in the temple, an' if you find anything worth sharing, you let us know."
With that, he and his party turn and depart into the distance. As they disappear from view, you're left with nagging doubts about your decision. But you know there's no turning back now. The fate of Cendriane hangs in the balance, and you must press on, no matter what dangers await you.
Insight Check
Doubt lingers in your mind as to whether the Fomorian will honour his agreement. Fomorians are hardly known for being the most reliable, and there's no telling when or where a double-cross might occur. Nevertheless, it's clear that something within the temple has shaken his confidence and deterred him from entering. It is clear that whatever lies ahead must be approached with caution and cunning.
Inside the Temple
Lord of Autumn - As you ascend the steep steps leading to the entrance of the temple, an overwhelming sense of unease washes over you. The edifice towers before you like a foreboding monument, its hoary stones blackened by the passage of aeons. Its atmosphere is laden with a dense aura of malevolence that seems to seep from every crevice and cranny. It is evident that this place has been profaned in some unholy rite.
Despite the dread that grips you, you cannot help but feel an intangible pull as you draw closer; the temple seems to call out to you, demanding your attention. The hairs on the back of your neck stand on end, and a gnawing feeling in your gut suggests that this is a place of great significance. You cannot shake the feeling that the destiny of the city hangs in the balance, and that whatever happens within these walls will have far-reaching consequences.
As you step inside the temple, the sight before you confirms your worst fears. The Queen of Summer's statue, once a magnificent sight to behold, now lies defiled by a tar-like substance that seems to have been poured over it with malicious intent. The corruption is so complete that it has taken away all traces of the statue's former glory, leaving behind only a sense of revulsion. It is a message, and not a subtle one, that whoever did this has a deep-seated hatred for the Summer Court and all it stands for.
It is then that you see a ragtag group of individuals standing in front of you. Two recently slain yeth hounds lie at their feet, the creature's blood now flowing into the toxic green pools that flank the main walkway. Among the group a large, colourful lizard stands, blood dripping from its terrible claws. You are uncertain who this group is, but it seems unlike that they are responsible for the desecration.
As the charred hound slumps lifeless to the ground, Faila lets it go, an angry snarl still on her reptilian face. Gurgling snarls deep in her throat are the only sound echoing in the temple for a moment as her head lifts up, bird-like, peering for more prey... or rather, more threats.
A shadow crosses the rubble-strewn entrance to the temple, and she wheels around, all the colorful feathers on her head, neck, and tail flaring out aggressively, and she shrieks a honking challenge to the new intruder.
The Lord of Autumn's heavy boots ring loudly across the temple's stone floor, with his cloak of leaves gently rustling behind him. With the hall now eerily quiet after the recent fracas, his movement now fills the hall with a new energy.
Clang, swish... Clang, swish... Clang, swish...
Calmly, the firbolg continues to approach the party. His gaze seemly fixed on them, or rather the statue behind them. At this distance and in this light, it seems almost too difficult to discern.
Clang, swish... Clang, swish... SHRIEEEEK...
A pause.
Clang, swish... Clang, swish... Clang, swish...
He continues to approach, seemingly undeterred by the challenge save for the momentary break to take in the challenging call. With him drawing closer, the massive cloak of leaves now comes into full view, swaying back and forth across the hall revealing resplendent colors of auburn, orange, yellow-greens, and browns. Though his stride is measured, the cloak seems almost to vacillate from side to side as if dancing back and forth as if it was in some sort of fanciful gala.
He stops now within a stone's throw of the party, his cloak sloshing to a halt. The firbolg makes not a single offensive gesture, nor seems to take notice of the bloodied and battle weary status of the individuals before him. In fact, it is now apparent that he had not been focused on the group at all, but rather at the Queen of Summer's statue behind them.
Now within a good view, the firbolg tilts his head to one side and examines the desecrated statue before him. He takes in the visual for but a moment before finally bringing his attention to the group. His face devoid of any sort of read or tell regarding his intentions, he takes a deep breath and lets it out before speaking in a deep, booming voice, letting the echoes of the temple add volume and dignity to his speech.
"HOO! Forsooth, this is a most curious sight. Verily, the Lord of Autumn feared Cendriane to be quite stagnant, yet behold more individuals defying the grasp of stasis itself."
He glances around at the slain hounds, drawn weapons, and snarling lizard, still not making any gestures towards his holstered glaive or javelins.
"Will said individuals impede matters most pressing for that of the Falltide?" he questions, though not directed at anyone in particular, "Or will there be no conflict with the Autumnal Court?"

Temple Tussle - Round #2 - Meresaa & Faila's Turns
Nikita's Insight check:
Aruum cries out in agony as the hound's teeth sink deep into his right arm. The goblin's legs wobble unsteadily beneath him, and he struggles to maintain his balance. Blood gushes forth from his wounds, undoing the progress made by Meresaa's device moments earlier.
Aruum's Turn

Mid-Morning - Day 1 - Autumn's Reprieve
Lord of Autumn - The Fomorians stand uneasy before you, their grips tightening on their crude weapons, uncertain of how you will act and what powers you might command. Gasps and even a stray clap of applause come from the pack as you perform your ritual. The leader scowls at the Fomorian that clapped but says nothing. Turning his attention back to you he bows stiffly.
"Tis clear to me tha' you command pow'r beyon' even me compre-hension," he stammers in awe. He eyes you with increased suspicion as you reveal further information about the Court of Autumn.
"S'what you're sayin' is tha' this Court of Autumn could 'elp us?" he queries, his attention rapt as you pause for effect.
He waits intently as you pause, hanging on your words.
"Thank y'," he says, his tone uncharacteristically polite, especially for a Fomorian. "Bu' perhaps the Lor..." he cuts his sentence forth as you continue your proclamation.
No sooner than you pause, then he continues. "As I was sayin'. Someone as well versed in magics as y'..."
"Listen Lord," he says, placatingly.

"Get out of there, Aruum!" he bellows.
Nikita, stepping lightly and humming the strange melody of her bladesong dashes 80' north, northwest and then west to engage the first hound.

Temple Tussle - Round #2 - Boyd's Turns
Boyd's Turns

Nikita's Turn
With unwavering courage, Nikita charges forward towards the hound (#1) that remains ungrappled. Using her mental prowess, she sends her flaming sphere hurtling towards the rear of the hound, its impact fierce enough to singe the creature's fur and flesh.
Simultaneously, Nikita reaches out telepathically to Thumbtack, instructing the owl to help Faila in her struggle against the second beast. With a quick take-off, the owl soars towards the fray before landing gracefully on Nikita's shoulder.

Temple Tussle - Round #3 - Meresaa & Faila's Turns
Meresaa's Turn
Meresaa moves with purpose, wasting no time in attending to the wounded. With a flick of her wrist, she takes aim and activates her curious healing device. The machine hums and clicks as it springs to life, emitting a soft glow that washes over the injured party members. Aruum appears to perk up a bit under its influence, regaining some of his colour. Meresaa further provides reassurance to the goblin by placing her hand on his back, channelling more healing energy into him, before retreating several feet.
Faila's Turn
Faila, having already grappled the second hound, wastes no time in trying to bring the beast down. She puts all her weight behind the effort, trying to topple the beast onto its side, but the hound resists her efforts, snarling and snapping viciously in response.
Hound #1's Turn
The injured hound (#1) lets out a pitiful, strained howl before lunging forward and attempting to sink its teeth into Aruum. Its movements are weak and uncoordinated, but still dangerous in their desperation.
The hound's attack is feeble and sluggish, barely grazing Aruum's skin and causing him only minor harm.
Aruum's Turn
Following the counsel of his comrades, Aruum screams in terror as he disengages from the hound, darting behind Meresaa and cowering in fear behind her. Raising his hand, he conjures a fiery mote and hurls it towards the hound.

Boyd catches his bloody dagger out of the air as it whirs back like a boomerang after hitting the hound. He takes a moment to line up a good shot and rockets the dagger right at Hound 2's face, hoping for it to bite deep and end this struggle so they can flee this cursed place.

Meanwhile, Nikita sends her Flaming Sphere looping around to slam into the hound from the southwest.
Attack: Nikita with Rapier and Booming Blade on Hound 2 at advantage due to Thumbtack's help.
To Hit: 26 (Double CRIT wasted!)
Rapier Damage: 16 piercing (none of which affects the hound)
Booming Blade Damage: the hound is sheathed in deep blue booming energy and takes 7 thunder damage if it moves on its turn.

The Lord of Autumn awaits the Formorian leader's response and nods his head in turn at each individual question. He speaks again, this time drawing closer to the edge of the vantage point as if to begin making his way down.
The firbolg speaks with certainty, "The Lord of Autumn commands that which has been bestowed by the Falltide itself," a pause, as if he too is second guessing whether more should be revealed, before he begins again, "Though the powers of overt metamorphosis lay beyond our current grasp. In sooth, the Lord of Autumn has powers to effect, not affect, change." He smiles as his cloak of leaves begins to rustle with pride and excitement.
Forsooth, this is not an equivalent trade, as you all should well know." A pause for effect, "That said, know that the Lord of Autumn's business in Cendriane appears to have aligned with the interests that of yourselves.

Temple Tussle - Round #3 - Boyd & Nikita's Turns
Boyd's Turn

The Fomorian leader gazes at you with an unyielding stare, seemingly unable to grasp the complexity of your words. Nevertheless, he nods his head in agreement, revealing nothing of his thoughts.
DM - The Call of Strahd (CoS); Feyrealm Campaign, Chapter 0 - Bleak Prospect (BP), Chapter 1 - Destination Unknown (DU)
Clang, swish... Clang, swish... Clang, swish...
Clang, swish... Clang, swish... Clang, swish... Clang, swishhhhh...
