"Well..." Khessa looks around, a bit puzzled "At least, whatever took all the creatures away, left us here undisturbed... I wonder if it was because of the hut spell or there is a different reason".
"At least, violence should not have been used; we did not hear anything during our magic lesson - plus there is no blood. Anyway," the blonde arcane warrior sighs "it seems we'll find more surprises outside, so... shall we summon the steeds while we are here? Or do you prefer to exit first?"
While waiting for answers, the tall adventuress sends Anator (her bat familiar - and brother) outside and takes a look with his senses. What is happening?
"We should probably check what's happening outside first, then I can summon the steeds," Akkron replies. "In fact... we should probably get out of the antimagic maze before we try to summon anything. With a bit of luck, maybe we'll meet that Sir fellow and he can lead us to where we need to be. Or... if this turns out to be a serious problem that needs immediate attention, I can spend a few minutes preparing Sending and just order two of the skeletons to destroy the other two and then destroy themselves."
(Note: Wizards prepare their spells at the end of a long rest. Since we haven't actually done anything since completing the LR, I assume Akkron could still make last-minute adjustments to his prepared spell list)

"Yes, Anator is checking outside already" Khessa smiles.
"Let me see..." she focuses on her familiar's senses...
The warrior nods as Akkron explains the conundrum about the skeletons. If he were being honest, he'd forgotten about the skeletons.
"So uh...do we need to destroy them?" Dabbert says, his eyes flicking from Akkron, the Khessa, then Lorlin. "Or can you put them back under your sway? Not sure how practical that is."
Then the sound hits him and his brow furrows. He listens to Khessa and Akkron as they discuss the finer points of magic and familiars and remote scouting, and takes the time to adjust himself.
"I'm sure I can imagine what's going on out there."
"Well, if whatever is happening out there doesn't take too much of our time I could probably still bring the skeletons back under my control,"Akkron says as he sits down to continue changing up his spell list. "Though honestly, given the current situation, we might be best off just putting them to rest anyway. Undead servants are generally most useful when guarding a stronghold or overwhelming enemies with sheer numbers, neither of which is what we're doing right now."

“I don’t have any objection to using the bodies if it is necessary. But I agree, they may not be much use to us here. I don’t have the means to control them, I can put some to rest if we decide it’s needed.” Lorlin says.
"That would probably be for the best," he says to Lorlin. "And somehow, I suspect that you have ways of returning them to their sleep which are much kinder than anything I can do... if I have to put them down, then it would most likely be by casting a Fireball on them. Effective... but not the most peaceful transition. Since raising them was my doing, I would like to show them some level of respect; even though they don't have human souls or consciousness, they do still have animating spirits and some vague memories inherited from the former inhabitants of their bodies. We really shouldn't have forgotten about them when we accepted Sir's invitation... that was a pretty serious mistake on my part."

As you exit you’re hit with this magnificent breath of fresh air. There is a crunch underneath your feet of actual grass and stars illuminate a pitch black sky.
A dark Pool replaces what was the dry stone circle above the tavern and in the distance lights flash as the locals are excitedly beating the shit out of the strange, clerical monsters you once encountered.
When things don't go as planned, Dabbert shrugged and exited the building with the rest of the party. He squinted, looking confusedly about at how things had changed, and then turned his attention to the locals as they reveled in their violence.
"Well uh...looks like they're having a good time." Dabbert said. "Do we uh...should we ask what the deal is? I mean, I'm sure we know but...to get the local thoughts on it?"

"Well uh...looks like they're having a good time." Dabbert said. "Do we uh...should we ask what the deal is? I mean, I'm sure we know but...to get the local thoughts on it?"
"What good air..." Khessa inhales, closing her eyes. Then, reopening them and concentrating on what he sees: "I almost have the doubt that I'm still asleep and dreaming... This landscape... has such a dreamlike air... more than a true nocturne, it seems the dream of it".
To Dabbert's proposal, the blonde arcane warrior replies: "Of course!" and she gives him an encouraging pat on the back "Since we're here to get an idea of what's going on, getting a deeper understanding of the point of view of the parties involved can only help us. Go on, ask them!"
As he sees the commotion outside, Akkron realizes that there's no way that the party will be able to get to the undead that they left at the temple.
"It looks like I'm going to have to fix the problem I created in a different way,"he says with a sigh. "You three go ahead without me, I need to spend a few minutes to prepare Sending to give our undead guards self-termination orders. I'll join you once that business has been taken care of... though it does almost feel like a waste to use my spells this way, I really don't want to risk an innocent person becoming their victim."
Akkron spends the next three minutes at his table swapping out Animate Dead (to make sure that he isn't tempted to do anything that will get them into this situation again) for Sending.
Once that is done, he sends a message to each of the three skeletons under his control in turn (since he doesn't control the fourth one he will go ahead and ignore it; it has probably already beaten itself into powder anyway. In total, Akkron is using all three of his third-level spell slots, one to contact each skeleton):
"Your service is no longer required. Destroy your physical forms thoroughly so that your spirits can return to rest."
With that done, the lich returns to his companions to try to make sense of whatever is going on outside.
Dabbert listens to Khessa and then gives her and Lorlin a glance before taking a breath and approaching the ruckus. He keeps his halberd in one hand, but doesn't wield it in a threatening manner.
"So uh..." He says, speaking loud enough to be heard over the commotion of the fight. "What's uh...what are we doing here? Just curious! I'm a...tourist...just passing through...wondering what these uh...local hostilities are? Traditions? Not real sure what's going on here if I'm being completelyhonest..."
Khessa, leaning on her Staff of Power as if it were a common walking aid, carelessly keeps close to Dabbert, just in case something goes wrong and the locals decide to include him in the fray as well - but, for the moment, serene, she smiles like the 'tourist' the soldier is claiming to be.
Akkron emerges from the tavern to watch the beat-down of the unlucky 'clerical monster,' leaning heavily on his staff of power. Even though he didn't expend all that much magical energy to order the skeletons to self-terminate, he feels drained. Then again, he usually feels drained, so that isn't a huge change.
"It is finished," he says simply as he joins Khessa and Dabbert, his gaze remaining fixed on the spectacle before them as he speaks.

“Interesting” Lorlin says, . She’s stepped out and is standing next to the Lich and watching the fray. “Thanks for taking care of the undead. I’d hate to have some hapless villager stumble into them.
"I simply dealt with a problem I caused," Akkron says to the Cleric tiredly, resting his skull against his staff of power. "I suppose I could try to shift the blame and say Slip talked me into it... but I was the one who ultimately decided to infuse them with that spark of magic and awaken their animus. It's just fortunate that I remembered them in time."
He chuckles at his own joke about Slip, but the lich is really starting to wonder what became of the monk. The last thing he wants is to see the oversized feline return as a cackling suicidal lunatic.
