"I'll rest once I know we're done with these critters." Arynn continues. "If we leave them here, the goblins have plenty of time to retreat, or off the children."He reasons, still going over towards the blocked entryway (checks around to find the lever to hopefully raise it).
"Listen here, snot skin! How do we get to where you're holding the children? And no surprises!" Alan says to the goblin, hand on his rapier for extra effect.

The goblin whimpers slightly then shows a little backbone all of a sudden. "Through the gate or another way. If you are smart enough to figure out how to take the other way." It giggles a second and then chokes and dies, frothing at the mouth.

Fargrim looks at the dead goblin, looks at the rope, then chops off the bit attached to the other, still living goblin. "If there's more trolls that way, perhaps we can placate them with food." He then follows Solastor to the other tunnel, goblin over shoulder.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Taman ensures that the remaining goblin is gagged by tying rags round its mouth. He then readies his hand crossbow and falls into line near the back of the group as they move into the newly revealed side tunnel.

"I'll check ahead." Arynn says, giving a nod of appreciation to Solastor for his aid. Arynn goes to check the other passage first, being sure to keep towards the shadows, as if stalking a potential bounty in a quiet city street. He'll hold his breath for the initial part, going into the stench-infested area.
Arynn "sneaks" ahead loudly to see what is in the stench filled area. After walking a dozen feet he comes to a cave with a bundle of cloth and bones in the one corner where it appears the troll had its "bed" and a rather large dirty brown tapestry hanging over the opposite wall.

Arynn grimaces at the sight of the troll cave, carefully going to the brown tapestry, using the tip of his shortsword to attempt to move it aside to check for passageways.
As you move the tapestry aside you see a dark corridor heading further into the complex in the same general direction as the tunnel was moving beyond the portcullis in the other room. A wooden door lies on the other end of the corridor.

Seeing no trolls in that direction, Fargrim tossest he bound and gagged goblin in the corner. "Looks like your lucky day, little fellow. No more trolls to feed you to."
Arynn sees no traps as he moves up the corridor. All of you can hear as you move closer to the door the sounds of metal banging against metal and the low sound of voices.

(Are we talking like the sounds of a forge? Fargrim has a lot of experience in battle and at the forge, so I'm wondering what he can ascertain about the metallic sounds)
Fargrim quietly turns to his companions, "That metal sounds like the banging of pots and pans. It might be a kitchen. They must have used this tunnel to feed the troll. Lets keep going."
Shouldering past Arynn, but whincing in pain as he uses the injured should to do it, Fargrim slowly opens the door, blocking out what he can from Solastor's light to peer in.

Once we have the information from the Goblin, I will head down the small side tunnel illuminating it with my Light. I keep my mace and shield ready.
On the way to the tunnel I walk over to Arynn and cast Cure Wounds for 6.
"Come with me friend, let us clear this tunnel and get to the children."
"Yes, unfortunately stopping now is not an option if we're to save the children. Time is of the essence."
