To arynn's ears it is a harsh guttural speech but it sounds like one giving orders to a few others.

Alan's ears perk up as he listens to the voices coming from down the hallway. 

Perception: 22

(Alan speaks common, goblin, and elvish)

Alan hears the voice in charge talking about not letting the spit to stop turning and berating someone called Grog for being lazy.

"They're cooking the children!" Alan says, alarmed. He pushes against the others to get them to run into the room.

Fargrim, who had just inched open the door to look out turned confusedly, "Wha?". Hearing Alan yell, he bursts into the next room, grabbing at his battleaxe. "Let the children go!" he roars.

The three goblins inside jump at the sudden noise and the one turning the spit looks in fear at the head cook. The head cook stands next to a large cauldron stirring it and when you burst into the room it shakes its ladle at you. "What are you doing in my kitchen!" it yells before realizing you are not a goblin and it's eyes grow wide. The third drops to the floor in a cowering heap. 

Fargrim looks around for the kids a second before standing up straighter as his other companions come in behind him and holds his battleaxe at at ready,  shield on arm. I don't know how much more I can take. We must get to the children; that's our first priority.  He glares at the kitchenmaster. "We're here for the human children. The guards and that damnedable troll got in our way. They won't be getting in our way again. I wouldn't suggest making the same mistake. Where are they?"

The cook seems to grow more of a backbone as Fargrim speaks. "I am cooking dinner for the Master. Leave my kitchen. All I deal with is food, Do you see any children?" (do a perception or investigation check if you want to take special notice to what they are cooking.) "If you want to live though I would advise leaving and not coming back. The master would not appreciate having his dinner interrupted by a filthy dwarf!"

Alan stepped into the room behind the group and shot his crossbow straight at the cook's mouth.

Attack: 16   Damage: 9

Attack: 27   Damage: 8

"That'll shut him up. Now, anyone want to be more helpful?" Alan said with an eyebrow cocked.

The cook takes a crossbow bolt to the mouth and it explodes from the back of his head but in response it throws a large cleaver that was on the counter in front of it and throws it back at Alan: Attack: 20 Damage: 5 and the cleaver embeds itself in his shoulder.

(OoC: Can you describe the room and the cauldron while we're waiting on initiative rolls? Mostly interested in where everyone is positioned and how pushable the cauldren looks)

"Agh! That's it!" Alan yelled, firing off two more bolts at the head cook before moving to the side of the room to allow his companions more room to enter.

( it is a square chamber with a fire to the right where the spit is being turned. Directly ahead is a table, the cook is behind the table and the cauldron is over a cooking pot in a fireplace behind him. To the left is a door and the third figure is cowering next to it.)

"You certainly don't scare us nearly as much as the troll."

Arynn rushes in with the others after the note of "they're cooking the children".

Solastor's light flares brighter at the sight of more goblins and the calls of cooking children. He moves into the room bathing the present goblins in the light from his shield and giving him a clear line of sight.

Initiative order: Alan, Arynn, Taman, Goblin turning spit (goblin 2), Solastor, Goblin cowering (Goblin 1), Fargrim, Redmond, Head cook (goblin 3)

Alan, Arynn, Taman you are up.

Alan Fires his crossbow and punctures the cook with the first bolt. Killing him. The second shot flew into the fireplace and disappears. 

Taman fires his hand crossbow at the goblin who is operating the spit.
