Frustrated that his magical blast did not appear to be effective against the figure, Redmond charges the hooded figure, carving at him with his longsword.
Redmond swings his sword at the figure but once again the figure uses his open palm to slap the flat of the blade and cause it miss by inches. The figure then looks deeply into Redmond's eyes and smiles. He almost seems familiar to you, like a long lost friend and the desire to no longer attack him begins to fill Redmond.

Sensing the magic originating from the hooded figure, Fargrim cries "Two can play at the magic game!" He sends out Clangeddin's Sacred Flame targeting the hooded figure.
Redmond, you feel that this figure is a long lost friend and you are willing to do almost anything he wants. His smile warms your very heart as he tells you to go over and sit by the door of the cage.

"Hey, you with the face! Stop your evil ways!" Alan yelled, firing off two more shots from his crossbow, aiming for the creature's eyes.
This is not going well. Mister tall and creepy might be a bit out of our league... I won't give up, though! I'm just going to make sure I have a clear path to the door...

Arynn's going to keep on working on the lock, hoping to get the kids out. "Just keep the vamp busy for one more moment." He says. "And watch out for the bites."
Alan Fires two shots at the Vampire and hit's it in the face, causing damage to it's eyes with glancing blows. The creature growls like a feral beast in response.
Arynn Keeps working on the lock and as he works it finally clicks and the lock pops open and falls to the floor with a "clang". At that the vampire spins it's head in the direction of the sound and gives a command to Redmond. "Protect the children and do not let anyone enter the cage and keep them inside away from danger!"

Arynn would open the cage (free action: manipulate an object), and gesture his hand to them. "C'mon, let's get out of here." He says to them, attempting to be friendly, but under a lot of stress. If they came over to him, he would move to a protective cover in order to be between them and the vampire.
Taman swings at the creature with the torch and it sidesteps the swing causing it to miss. The creature then lets out a loud laugh, leans forward, and whispers in Solastor's ear. "I will see you again, and next time you will become one of Arenduil's children." It then turns to mist and floats upward into the gathered smoke of from the fire and disappears up the chimney.
The children huddle in the back of the cage weeping in fear. One little boy has a noticeable wet spot on the front of his pants. They do not come at Arynn's bidding in their terror.

Arynn sighs, thinking through how much trauma the children have gone through. He's not really good at talking with children, but he'll give it a go.
